Thomas, I discovered your channel a few weeks ago and have been enjoying it immensely. Not only do I appreciate your eye for art (as with the boat), and the excellence with which you execute it, but I've very much appreciated the generosity and clarity with which you share the craft behind the art. Well done sir! Should you find yourself in the Pacific Northwest again, I'd be honored to share a pint or a meal with you, and to show you some of the splendors of Washington state's Olympic Peninsula.
Great photography and fab location! Loving the Patagonia content you all look like your having a great time! what it’s all about getting out, enjoying yourself with the bonus of amazing photography thrown in.
Lovely video Thomas. I love the first image of the boat where the life of the boat and its fading presentation match and in fact it tell the story of the boat rightly.
the first picture didn't really connect with me but the effort for the second one got me smiling again, getting them back to the level of the rest of the videos on the channel. love it!
Love the image of the submerged boat, Tom, that must have been a tricky shutter speed to judge as it was moving about quite a bit! Great final result and you kept it togther damn well in the piece to camera while you were stood in the cold water getting heckled by Greg and Brendan!!
and this is why you'll always end up getting the more interesting shot ... because you're going to get out there and try the shot you imagined. Good for you Thomas.
That last image, where your waded out to the boat, is the cover image for your next book. I can totally see that. It rocks! And how many people have a similar image, getting that close to the boat? Well done!
Brilliant video. You are so much more relaxed and it shows in your images. Love your outfit - it should be on the cat walk! Blown highlights on the legs!! 😂😂😂
I love the closeup of the sunken boat. I was wondering if you would eventually grab a 100-400 lens after you seemed to like it so much in Africa. It’s replaced my 70-200 in my landscape kit bag because of the additional compositional opportunities it brings. It’s also wonderful for closeup macro type work when the mood takes.
Surprised that Brenden didn't shoot the boat through your legs!!!! Probably overexposed???? Most excellent shot.....love your sense of adventure!! Best, Bob
Thomas Heaton, great shots. I loved the boat's shot a lot. At times, when conditions are not great, I recollect your words, "Shoot the conditions" ☺️☺️☺️ Great video, Tom
Great video and nice images. I especially like the last one. I am normally not a big fan of human elements in the landscapes, but that one was worth the efforts.
1:44min .....EVEN THIS HAD BEEN AN REALY AWESOME SHOT.........at Iceland you will find so many spectacular formations of a cloudy sky, you properly wouldn't find anywhere else on your beautiful Mother Earth. I once shoot for 6 weeks with an 4x5 inch Wooden Film-Fieldcamera all around Iceland. It was the MOST FUN I ever had photographing in my entire Live.
Get wet, get dirty, get insulted, get mocked. In the end, all you know is that you got back home happy as a child, because you did what you love. That's why I consider landscape photography my reason to live. Cheers Thomas! Dario
Such dedication. Such bravery. Such great legs. ;P Wonderful video. The last shot with the boat was worth the frozen toes. excellent! As Alyn Wallace calls it, get your self a "Moon Bazooka" Sigma 150-600. Great lens.
Ha! You got some good friends Tom, making fun of the white legs but they are white. :)) Anyway, great shots, and the boat shot was my favorite! I'll get to Patagonia hopefully sooner than later.
Great video Thomas - such a beautiful place - love the mountain shots. Can you possibly tell me where the hat was made - looks like the perfect hat for the conditions. More.
Essential landscape photography gear - a towel! :) All nice shots, I really like the first one with the light hitting the mountain and the moody sky behind it 👍🏻
Hi Tom. Have you considered just purchasing a 2x teleconverter for your 70-200 instead? You will save a lot of weight that way and still get a lot more reach out of your kit.
