I am so glad for you all that you hiked back to the lake to get that shot of the mountain. You say it was a two and a half hour hike for a two minute shoot but you’ve got that captured for life. Absolutely beautiful.
I just love your video's. Informative, educational and Inspirational...to a fella just beginning this journey, it is awe inspiring! Thank you for all you do and share!
Something I've always found in photography is that if the conditions aren't good enough for the photo you want, make the best of the conditions to get the best photos you can with what you do have. True about fleeing light; I've seen scenes with skies and light that were absolutely magnificent, and a couple minutes later they were gone (if not under a minute). And I loved your presentation about Tang. It's basically powdered orange candy, glorified Orange Crush without the carbonation.
Ohhh boyyyy i want to be out there !!! With a tent a sleeping back. up in the mountains ! i never had a better feeling than beeing out there. Thank you Thomas for inspiring me !
Great video Thomas, you must be so proud to be in a location as stunning as Patagonia. Your last photo of the mountains was my personal favorite. What beautiful place you're in! Thanks!
Thanks for taking us with you on photo shoots and sharing your approach to making landscape photos. It’s much more interesting for me than studio vlogs.
Allegedly used by the astronauts - in fact we don't know they drank it, just that is was packed on board. I like the freeze dried ice cream better than the freeze-dried OJ.
Those peaks of sunlight hitting those pillars on the mountains are absolutely gorgeous with reflections in the water are so still so calm 10 days later you did a damn good job on this one going back
After a while your videos finally are really awesome again! Heaton is back in town and every week am so exited to see a video popup. You gave me the motivation to go on in photography and next year I will graduate! Thankyou Thomas!
Nice having you here in Argentina. Next time you should visit Catamarca Province in the northern Argentina, you´ll get amazed by the incredible beauty and colors of the Andes. I´m trying to learn as much as possible from your videos to get the best shots during my next trip to Scotland! By the way, I agree, Tang is something you should avoid drinking........
Tang!!?? I used to drink that as a kid. It was marketed in the '60s as having been developed for the U.S. space program. I haven't seen or drunk it in ages!
I really enjoy your videos. As an amateur photographer my ability to return to the exotic location ten days later is often times not an option. I often think I need to stop looking at beautiful images of places I’m going to so as not to be super disappointed by what weather I get.
Great video! When I was a kid in the 1960s US astronauts took Tang into space with them to flavor the bad tasting water on their spacecraft! Imagine mixing Tang with already horrible water. As a result it became wildly popular in those time just because the astronauts were drinking it!
Oh my God, I grew up on Tang as a kid and feels very weird to see it on a Thomas Heaton vid of all places. I can't remember it being /that/ bad but then again I can't remember the last time I had it. :))
Achim Recktenwald - as a child growing up in California, I and every one of my friends, was enthralled with the space race and America’s astronauts. Naturally, when it became known that NASA had Tang available to astronauts on their space flights, us kids had to have it too. It soon found its way into TV commercials, print ads and onto market shelves. Mothers everywhere bought it and began serving to unsuspecting wannabe astronauts. I’m fairly certain it had a semi-citrus flavor laced with tons of sugar. It was a powder that you mixed with water. Supposedly it helped with electrolytes and endurance but all it really did was make us feel lethargic (after the sugar high wore off) with an upset stomach. Still, fond memories! LOL!
Good ol' Tang. Brings up memories of my youth. The drink that got us into Space and the Moon. The NASA thing was probably just a ploy to get our mom's to buy it.
That mountain photo is really stunning! With the first photo of the tree, I was hoping you were going to shoot it vertically. Would love to have seen it in that composition. But, great stuff man.
I think you were trying to lower our expectations on the “tree” shot with talk of micro positioning and harsh light because it speaks to me...just gorgeous and more than acceptably Heatonian. 👌
I don't know what you are complaining,i wish i got this weather, i got there crazy wind, Cerro Torre was enveloped in huge cloud and then began rain and snow, i don't complain, enjoyed every moment of the hike but from photography viewpoint wasn't the best.
When I was a kid, I'd open the cylinder of Tang & sprinkle a few water drops on the powder. When it dried, the Tang would harden & you could pop it in your mouth like candy!
Beautiful reflections but I wonder if you would improve it by reducing the blue hue in your icebergs? Great video - loving seeing yours the BVS videos from the same locations
@@ThomasHeatonPhoto The conditions looked perfect for that 2nd visit, superb photo you took! That reflection!!! And I'm not sure what I was doing when you guys went off to take the tree photo, your pic and Francis' pic of that tree has been my favorite pic of the trip. Well, Greg's puma pic eclipses all!!
Tang?! I didn't think they still made the stuff. Something akin to Kool-Aid, which is also pretty horrible, but it was cheap and kept us generally content when we were children. Not anymore, of course. Just a good way to ruin water. Nice comparison of the two trips, I'm glad you didn't make us wait for another video to see the shot, the awesome shot. Good light can be fleeting, eh? Rock on!
Wanted to get an early comment thinking you might read it. As you are prob one of the most OCD photographers vlogging in RU-vid I would love to see you do a cleaning your kit vlog. Filters , lenses, sensor etc. Your fastidious attention to detail in your compositions and edits surely comes from well cleaned and serviced kit. Any fav lens cloths or cleaning kit for those harsh coastal conditions etc. Only an idea Haha. love the vids man have fun :)
We've tried twice to shoot sunrise at Fitz Roy, both days with no luck. It's been a real shame and disappointment but also a motivation to go back one day!!!!!
Sunday night is for RU-vid and Mr Heaton, Great video Tom the 2 images you featured are stunning well worth the second visit, I think you should get a sponsor from “TANG” 👍😉
You've several times in the past, you have to be in to win it and think the revisit to Lagune Torre epitomised that statement. Was a beautiful image as was the first one
