Three things I've found that might help. First is easy enough: you can deconstruct building pieces just by facing it and hitting Y. Don't have to be in 'build mode' for that. Second, you can chop up the stumps for wood. Using the whole buffalo, so to speak. ;) Third, if you have a building part in your quick bar but don't have any made, pressing the number of the quick bar item will craft one.
Fourth: Crouch and aim with the bow and one shot things in the head and get a nice cinematic Fifth: You can have a campfire in your wooden house no problems
I’ve now binged your entire Icarus series within a couple days. I haven’t got a decent enough PC do play this game myself so I’m living it through you! Love what you’re doing and really respect your honest opinions on this game. Keep ‘em coming!
Hey! I’ve binged your series and then you just seemed to have stopped. Nooooo. I need more. I just bought the game and my first time playing, I failed miserably. Your videos really helped me out. I know it’s not the sci-fi we all thought it would be, but you make the game look fun. Please come back to it.
hey Z1 buddy, really want to see icarus next episode so badly, when is it coming? you got good number of views too in icarus, would love to watch icarus more. Thanks
When you start using tools from the station when they brake you can not repair them however they should be put back into the drop ship inventory because they reused in the next mission. The knife and pick are good first tools because of there yield bonus help get a early bed and faster access to iron tools as only as you don't use it on stone to much as that's a waist.
A heads up with skinning if you use the table you get more materials but if you do it with a knife you get more Exp because as of right now its locked to around 88. So all the wolves you put on there if skinned with a knife are worth 600+ Exp.
While I haven't tested out the tools, the canteen and oxygen tank are awesome. Just don't forget to add some medicine into that multi-food diet your planning. It can help you control the many debuffs of the game. Plus unlocking the stuff to make better medicine is another way to unlock better food stuff, like beer and jam.
If it was a glacial or spring fed lake with no connection back to the ocean then it would make sense for there to be no fish. Particularly if it was in the high mountains.
I don't think so simply because glacial and spring fed lakes contain fish of some kind unless the water originates from a underground reservoir, when you saw Z pivoting you see a stream feeding that "lake" so unless he investigates further we might never know.
Your going to love the snow when you build in it. I recommend you use column's to increase support. The build limit for wood (I have not tested anything else) is 8 (7) stories tall but after 4 you need columns for it to start standing and I mean everywhere.
You don't even need a hammer. It's just useful to use a hammer as it highlights what piece you're going to yoink (...which is what I assume the Y means)
Noice video dude, loving the hut and thanks for putting in windows so we can see what's happening inside better. It makes it much more pleasing to watch, is it too much to ask for some night lighting too?
Hi first timer here and new sub. Thanks for the videos on Icarus too. Man this game is fun too. I couldn't skin a buffalo either so watching these videos I learn too. I had a two boars chased me down with a wolf and a bear all at once on the flower scan mission. Intense!
If you are up in a mountain area with water and doesn't have fish in it if would be fresh water and you could drink it and not like in rivers that have fish in them.
Z1 I have fully played this mission before, you will need at least fur Armour, a rifle of some sorts, and stone buildings, which will NOT be damages in the ice storms, all carried on you. My few tips. Love the content Z1
you dont NEED a rifle to finish this mission, sure it makes the polar bears easier, but you can take them down with fint arrows and some fancy dodging. Basically, all you need to when facing a bear, is run TOWARDS it when it charges, that way its attack will miss you. Turn around and shoot it in the face 2 times, then do the same thing till its dead.
I have a question, I don't know much about ICARUS but something I do wonder why does the character need oxygen if there already is oxygen on the planet because fire and animals need oxygen so how does that work? I know that's it's a game but wouldnt that just make sense this might be stupit what do you guys think?
Hey look at that you finally figured out to check out your water source *fish equals lest chance to get dysintary no fish equals higher chance* also helpful hint aiming down a bow helps improve the odds of hitting and doesn't use stamina to aim only to draw the bow and this map does need a base I went in without one and let's say my video is a death montage of trying to complete the mission
You should keep a stack of cooked meat on you. Early on it's the only real healing item you have and your not punished for stuffing your face after after a wolf takes a bite out of you shins
Have you tried building a hidey next to rocks? You can even use the landscape as part of your structure. On that note, are you reinforcing your shelter? The beams can go cross and horizontally. Even underground. This makes whatever's on top much sturdier. And you can frame the walls out, as well. Otherwise, just keep the stamina up and keep repairing at about halfway.
Love the game I just wish bases were persistent in main game. I mean isn’t the point to spearhead colonizing the planet. I thought the game would allow you more time on the surface depending on how built up you were with tech and a base till eventually you were self sufficient indefinitely.
You're building too elaborate of a base. I quickly built a structure against the mountain for just what I needed and I had completed this entire prospect in 30 minutes.
