Tal's Craziest Sacrifice 

In his comments on his preparation for the 1960 world championship match, Tal wrote that he felt Botvinnik would lose confidence when confronted with a "combinational storm." The above game seems to confirm that...yet in their rematch, Botvinnik handled Tal almost effortlessly. When asked for the key ingredient of his winning recipe, Botvinnik said "Limiting the scope of Tal's pieces." It's almost too droll for words.

"I was surprised by his ability to figure out complex variations. Then the way he sets out the game; he was not interested in the objectivity of the position, whether it's better or worse, he only needed room for his pieces. All you do then is figure out variations which are extremely difficult. He was tactically outplaying me and I made mistakes." -Botvinnik, after losing the world title to Tal

All this talk about modern players... Please dont forget that if Tal was young and in his prime now, would have access to the same computers and would take his imagination to a new level...For his time he was legit!

With the new era of chess players, Tal will not be tal anymore, i love Tal for his confidence and his way of brilliant moves but with computer analysis and prearrangement games, he wouldnt stand a chance againta the new generation, so if he would be playing today he would lost many games. He admitted it with hus famous quote:"There are 2 types of sacrifices, the right way and mine" only the psycological impact and stress brought by his magnificent moves

Tal's sacrifice came like a bolt from the blue and the G.M across the board is jolted by it. They hardly recovered from initial shock.

What a beast! Yet, I seen online patzers claiming Tal wasn't that good because some computer program found some of his moves unsound. In the computer age everyone is an expert.

A 6.45, why black doesn't chess with the bishop from e5 to h2; so the white king is forced to eat, rook can take the white bishop on f1 and get a better position?
