Finally got mine in Monday, been ripping around after work for almost 2-3 hours. Hands down the most fun I've had "urban" riding. Hitting trails and spots you can't really take even a pitbike on..... Great Videos man, the ones previous to this, really helps new e riders with all tips and little mods 👌
Thanks man. Always love your videos. They’ve helped me more than you could know. I have a set of these tires on order, and I just put on the Shimano brake pads today. Those made a huge difference! Excited to see your future videos.
I’ve had the shinko’s for a year still wrapped up, unmounted in the garage. the stock knobbies are still holding strong lol. glad to know the 2.75 fits perfectly. I was gonna try the 3s. awesome Talaria content as always.
Thank you bro! I’m a fan of your stuff as well! Making me want to get an insta 360 cam since I have no one to ride with 😏 they do fit great, but they do rob a bit of acceleration I must say. But the added rotational weight does add some stability at speed
@@freerfixedit thanks man. your content is quality compared to my lazy edits hahaha. yeah the insta 360 was expensive but def worth the investment. you’re up there in my YT rotation with the talaria boys, shreddie, mrcentraldriver. you’ll blow up in no time.
getting the thoughts and opinions of the talaria from someone who also rides a 450 is super useful, i was afraid it would feel a little anemic coming off my YZ. great video
Cool video. I especially liked your commentary about riding ebikes responsibly and still having fun but not screwing it up for everyone else. Kudos to you for that. I've gotten the thumbs up from the police when on my ebike, had some cool conversations with them while on my bike. They are not the enemy. Just don't be a jerk.
Luv the advice about not drawing attention to ebikes and ruinin it so we cant ride them freely sooo easy and good before the laws go bad thank u🎉also i just got the 241
Thanks for the video, answered a lot of my questions on what tires to get. You should make a video on how to wheelie the R. Like can you do in eco mode or whatever you think is best to learn as a beginner. Good save on not hitting guy lol, I almost ran into a lady but the brakes are on point.
Just subscribed and commenting to have tbis in my likes/videos so i can come back to all the mods😎. Just pre ordered my Sting R yesterday for June delivery to Maui Hawaii.... Aloha 🤙🏽
Hey how have you been enjoying the tires so far? Any regrets/ suggestions to other tires I should look at? I ride mostly street maybe 25% off road. Thanks!
Might be a silly question, but have you found the throttle response to be weird when slowing down to a stop and trying to get back on it? It was almost like a stall out for me and my eggrider even said wait one time. I’m used to riding dirt bikes but the throttle response feels like it lags a little bit when trying to get going again
Try disconnecting the brake sensors if you haven’t. They have a red connector and come out of the brake reservoirs on the bars. They cut the power whenever brakes are applied and it feels very weird if you’re not used to it
416 miles so far. And they seem like the same style tire just different tread pattern. Might perform better in dirt than the 241. Idk. Check the weights too 🤷🏻♂️
They’re just some black cargo pants I got for work 😂 but I wear thor riding gear when I ride the moto bike. Thanks! I’m glad you like the riding videos. They’re easier and more fun for me to make 🤙🏽
Hey man, I’m new to your videos here - Did you say sound? As in the Puget Sound? I just left the Seattle area for Portland and grabbed one of these bikes. Eventually looking to move back soon. Looks fun man!
Theyre gonna be heavy! If youre running stock power I'd think twice and maybe get the 2.75... up to you tho, either way I hope they work out! appreciate you!
@@freerfixedit i know!! You got me thinking now, if you have resistance at 2.75 im scared for 3.50! LOL but they just got here today and i will debate that on clearance of the chain. Im gonna post it my experience with it.
@@freerfixedit 3.50 dont fit 😂 getting 2.75 put on now. But i did upload a short video with the 3.50 on. Looks like a sick fat bike! But i think the 2.75 is best for this bike lol thanks for the vid
Hey just curious, was most of this video shot on one charge? Or are you stopping at places to charge up. I've been thinking of getting an electric bike over my eskate just for comfortability and range. It seems like you can haul ass for miles and still have good top speed.
Yeah just one charge in this video. I also have a real world range test video on the channel if you want to check that out. I’m impressed with the range and speed. You really only lose speed/power below 10% battery. As it’s designed to limp you home if need be
Nice, NC Erider, I'm right up the road from you in Greenville. Dead set on buying one of these bikes, just trying to decide, mx4, 79bike or pro ss, pulling the trigger soon though!
Nice, I went to school there... it was only mx4 or surron when I got mine... The 72v out of the box and sotion motor are enticing, but I think I'd still pick the mx4 just for the gearbox. So far its been bulletproof and never have to worry about belts snapping and leaving you stranded. Whatever you end up with, hope you enjoy it and be safe!
@@freerfixedit yeah, i did some more digging around, the MX4 is the clear choice. The MX4+Torp TC500(very easy install) is $100 cheaper and faster and more tunable than the Pro SS. hell yeah im pumped lol, its on the way/
Most excellent work/content, even better riding! y;all give a hack like me, some lil wheelie hope and jumps here and there! We bought this bike mostly based upon your Journey and knowledge with a whole lotta tips and tricks. Now today Saturday 6/3, Triple X Larry is in stock {El Segundo, CA} for 3K!!! Marketing day 1 the OSBORNE EFFECT! still faster than Ronnie X a bit smaller, SAME motor as the Sting-R M . We plan on saving 1,499 and can pick up Monday! Ordering the PEDAL kit which can propel the bike for my local Sherriff {keep it legal for now} and the off road tires. You have made over 2 THOUSAND subs aware of The Larry and now Larry Triple X shows up. Check out the Osborne Effect, cannibalization of sales. The over the MOON of El Segundo, CA owes you a Triple X Larry. XXX dang 25Lbs lighter and still is faster/ better range etc than Ronnie X. A bit smaller for the 5'9 and under club, good for my son I'm a short 6ft. Ride on Shaun.
Man thank you so much for the kind words and taking the time to write that. Makes me happy, and I’m super excited for you and your journey. Just started mine and I’m not looking back. Awesome people like you make it all worth it. So thank you! I really appreciate it! 🤝
Bro the guy with the dog you came across at minute 9:05 is also seen walking in another video you posted 4 weeks ago, 'Talaria Sting R vs OUTER BANKS // Real World Range Test' at minute 1:57 haha super random or am I tripping?!
I've got an Ultra Bee which comes with CST 80/100-19 front and rear knobby tires - but look like mountain bike tires. The traction on steep climbs in the forest is rubbish, causing rear wheel spin and no forward motion. My riding is all off-road (not trails, not roads, all cross country). So I'm looking for much greater traction. The rims say 1.4 x 19 and 1.6 x 19 - guessing that's inches. Anyway, I'd love to hear your impressions on climbs where the CST's would've lost traction. Are the Shinko trial tires better for that?
I would say no to the shinkos. They perform really good on road and mediocre on dirt. Not what I’d want for maximum bite on hill climbs. I’d look into motocross tires for the ultra
@@freerfixedit Thanks so much! That's valuable info. Motocross tires are available in the right size for the front rim but it'll probably need to be 2 front tires types (70 or 80 width) vs a front and a rear. The rear rim is quite narrow and most MX tires are 100 or more in width. I think that'll be okay because otherwise the bike becomes too tall in the rear.
@@martinfoster5163 no problem! I wouldn’t worry so much about the width of the rim, as much as making sure it fits in the swingarm and clears the chair. Also… heavier tires are going to slow you down a bit. Just the shinkos on this bike robbed my acceleration a little bit. So think about larger rear sprockets as well!
@@freerfixedit Thanks for the tip. There's a KTM dealer in the city and they're suggesting MOTOZ tires. I may get 70/100-19 front and rear because I'd rather not get a heavy tire and a new sprocket. I'm waiting to hear if they have them in stock so I don't need to import (costly and slow).
Have you looked into or found any good skid plate options for the talaria? My 2nd day riding I went through some enduro style uphill and bounded by frame right onto a rock. It dented the skid plate pretty bad and bent some of the external cooling fans on my motor already
@@johnwilkes8847 that’s the one! It is super pricey. It’s kinda laughable the markup on all these companies billet aluminum products. Laser etch your logo into it and boom! 150% markup 😂 only other one I found tho is $175 for a no name. And doesn’t look as thick as the Gritshift one
@@freerfixedit I just found another one that looks way more protective. Kinda looks like the heavy duty acerbis dirt bike skid plates. It wraps around the front a little bit and covers the lower parts of the frame too. If interested look up SXS talaria skid plate. I'd say it worth it for the frame protection alone because that rock took a decent gouge out of my frame right next to the stock skid plate mount on the bottom.
2:20 honestly, it ruins the rep for everyone because these kids are doing dumb and dangerous stuff on the road all around traffic. I personally don’t think you have to be that careful but I don’t like watching people lane split at high speeds in a wheelie. Also I love your channel because it’s hard to find so much riding content for the exact model bike I want so tysm.
Want to order the R but just saw the pics of the dragon, not sure if to wait or just order R, the dragon seems like it might need to be registered if it’s doing 80MPH, and those are the costs I’m trying to avoid, any thoughts ? I know not much info is out but I’m super tempted to just order the R
The r will be and feel more like an electric mtn bike. The dragon will feel and ride more like an electric dirt bike. It’s their competitor to the ultra bee
So, they haven't started making switches with the square connector yet. What you can do is purchase the square connector here amzn.to/46juEe4 and re-pin the switch to the square connector. Heres a link to a good video showing how to do it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3A4DWnN9LcY.html Looks pretty simple!
Yes! Working on atleast 2 videos next week. Just got back from a wedding in Montana, been super dead from traveling and it’s been raining since I got back 🙃 stay tuned tho we’ll be back at it soon enough 🤙🏽
With the 19” rim I think so. I think 3” would fit but I can’t find them. Someone has a video of them putting 3.5 shinkos on and they don’t fit. Rub forks and chain bad
I really don’t know. I’m from nc and laws are different different places. Ask your parents maybe or look up local ebike laws online. Hope that helps! 🤙🏽
@freerfixedit I just changed my stock cst off road tires for the shinko 241 on my talaria x3 and it feels slower but I tried it with 30% battery left ...
They are noticeably heavier than cst tires. I wish cst weren't so shitty because they're so light it's noticeably more playful with the cst tires. I run 19/19 shinko 241s for around town. I have a 19/16 with knobbies for off road
@@freerfixedit ialso had like a 10-15% voltage drop while cruising speed. With the 241s it's like 20% voltage sag at cruising speed. Rises after you let off the throttle.
Pay attention to what he says. E-bikes are not a nuisance, cops don’t wanna deal with you as long as you’re not a problem. Be respectful and we can all have a system where our bikes are accepted and we don’t get shut down
on the stock wheels? 19" ? I doubt you had a problem, like I said in the video, theyre a little heavier so it robs some acceleration, but theyre slightly larger in diameter than the stock tires as well, so they should in theory add a very little amount of top end speed once you get there
@freerfixedit yeah I just lowered the psi to 35 was way to much just got it to 30 and it feels way better and gets to to 55 just slower wheelies still don't feel great but just gotta break um in
Sooner or later a cop is going to pull you over for having a motorcycle without a licence plate no insurance and probably no motorcycle licence if you wanted to ride on the street you should have bought a real motorcycle.
