Brace yourself for some KILLER stories.
From the clever and creepy minds of Stephen King (Pet Sematary), Michael McDowell (Beetlejuice), George A. Romero (Dawn Of The Dead) and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (creator of Sherlock Holmes), comes an all-star anthology of horror.
To keep from being eaten by a modern-day witch (Deborah Harry, Videodrome), a young paperboy weaves three twisted stories to distract her. In "Lot 249," a vengeful college student (Steve Buscemi, Fargo) resuscitates an evil mummy to teach unsuspecting student bodies (Julianne Moore, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Christian Slater, Mr. Robot) a lesson in terror. Then, "Cat From Hell" is a furry black feline who cannot be killed ... he may have nine lives, but those who cross his path are not so lucky. Finally, in "Lover's Vow," a stone gargoyle comes to life ... to commit murder. In this classic cult favorite, fear comes in threes.

I lost track of how many times I've watched this movie since 1990, I love it! I have rewatched it again and it's still great. My favorite story is that of James and Rae, then the Buscemi, Slater one, and the Cat one. I miss movies like this one.

I remember watching tales from the Darkside when the first season started in 1984. I was 7 years old and watched every episode. The 4th season was the last and i was 11 years old when it ended in 1988. I was so sad when it ended. I love everything scary. I also watched unsolved mysteries with robert stack when that show started. I was 10 watching that and Tales from the dark side. Then started watching Americas most wanted in 1988. I will never forget the 1st episode of Americas most wanted, it was the one about John List who killed his whole family in 1971 and vanished. John List was their first catch on the show after they aired it he was caught within 48 hours of their first show!

It tickles me every time I see Christian Slater revving that electric knife. The look on his face is just everything. I love me my horror anthologies. Bellingham remains my favourite role of Steve Buscemi's and he's had a lot of great ones. This film is awesomeness. I can't count the number of times I've seen it.

The name of the segment is called “Lover’s Vow” and it’s written by Michael McDowell (screenplay writer of Beetlejuice), it’s loosely based on the tale of Yuki-Onna specifically the version by Lafcadio Hearn.

If only the female gargoyle was more of a hot one like on the animated show Gargoyles as at least those types of female gargoyles are sexy and desirable to human men as in one’s who are like Demona and Angela and not like carola

a unforgettable classic of horror, the ideal form to end a so great series, in his most creepier style, this time showing three stories full of ghoulish situations beyond the imagination, with the best masters of suspense and terror, all ready to bring this hellish masterpiece, like a neverending ride full of nightmares that transports you direct to the heart of darkness.

It wasn't really a cat it was a spirit or demon in the form of a cat. Weird thing is that story is called "Cat from Hell" but if the cat really was some demon from Hell why would it go after the old man? His company experimented on and killed thousands of cats and that's not really something Hell would DISAPPROVE of. Having the cat go after the old man was like getting justice for the ones his company killed.

This is an exceptional horror film. It’s definitely bleak in tone but I find that to be one of the good qualities about it. It’s scary even now. There’s much much less humor than the “Creepshow” films (even though this is really Creepshow 3) the 3rd story is tragic and the most terrifying. I do think that it leaves a lot of unanswered questions about the gargoyle. For instance one big question I have is why does it show itself in the beginning to begin with? I’d like to know more. I know it’s a adaptation of another story but that too doesn’t really answer my question. I just would like to know more rather then the explanation just being “Strange things happen”.

I laughed when they showed it, which proves Hitchcock was right, it's better if you DON'T see it. I mean, look at the real 1960 Psycho. Shower scene. You don't see anything, but you SWEAR you did, even by modern standards.

I disagree I think horror movies died out around 2007, The early 2000's had some insanely good movies. The ring, The descent, the scream series, 28 days later, Final destination, The grudge, Rec, The others, Trick r treat & more. In my opinion horror started turning into nothing but cgi crap with no real storylines as of about 2008-2010

Agreed. I guess it depends on what the individual is looking for in a horror film, but for me the 80's were a real high point. Loved the practical gore effects of that decade in horror movies. Like you said, this film was one of the last of those great films with it being right at the start of the end of the 80's and the beginning of the 90's. I do like some modern horror movies such as Hereditary and the Dawn Of The Dead remake in 2004, but the 80's will always be the real high point for me.
