The Trance soundtrack on the WANGAN MIDNIGHT series sounds fantastic. I think you’re the first japanese artist I’ve seen who created Trance music. It honestly sounds as good as the Trance music originally from Europe - by Matt Darey, Ferry Corsten, Paul Van Dyk, ATB, BT, etc… Have a nice day! 🙂

Dude you're fucking amazing! Saying that you are the best musician and composer is an understatement. I'm over the moon for your music. There's no words to describe you and your musical abilities. I found out about you a long time ago when I was in second grade playing the streets of rage video games. That soundtrack is frickin amazing but like I said that's an understatement. Ever since I learned about this topic in detail I thought it would be ideal if, for game soundtracks, the audio has the compression applied only during gameplay and then turned off of listening to just the music by itself in the sound test/streaming etc. Great video by the way, been a fan of your music forever 👍
@@yuzokoshiro2631 LOL join the club I got my first haircut in over 3 years back in July of this year. Got half a foot cut off, still have 2.5 feet left. Pandemic prevented me from getting a haircut sooner so I just let it grow.

I would have subscribed a long time ago, but whenever I search “Yuzo Koshiro” online I almost always find a fan made page or site.....usually a lot of mixes of some of your classic game music from the Sega Mega Drive. Anyway, this video was fantastic. Informative and useful. I’ve been a fan of yours since the Revenge of Shinobi (the Super Shinobi). It was the first time I ever asked myself, “can I get an album just so I can listen to game music?”
Hey I might be late but I've always loved the WMMT series ever since I was a young child and always listened to the soundtrack! I even use it in some of my videos 😂
After a quick Binge it Turns out it's the Game Developers 「Yet another mistaken decision」not Yuzo-San BANDAI NAMCO' s Arcade PCB was a High-End Spec Tier (both ES3 & BNA1) but for some reason the audio quality is the same as Maximum Tune 4 they didn't bother to re-encode from what they used today.
This reminds me of a burning question of mine. Why is the in-game arrange version of "Beyond the Horizon" so different from the album version? The melody cannot be heard during gameplay, since the percussion mostly drowns it out. As this is my favorite song of yours, it saddens me that I cannot listen to it properly while playing at the arcade.
@@GamingLiveHDChannelPH Glad you like it. But I think in the arcade version, you can barely hear the tune. Also the album version instrumentation sound profile is much more complete and satisfying.
Thank you so much for clarifying this Yuzo-san, I've always wondered about the loudness differences when playing the game. Can you consider releasing beta versions of existing soundtracks like the WMMT6 JAEPO versions?
Hi Mr Koshiro, I know you are trying your best to normalise the volume of music in the cabinet. There is an issue regarding the track "Fallen Angel" and other 5/5DX/5DX+ soundtrack where it may be considered too soft (turn to Medium/Maximum Volume) to hear it properly over engine noise. On the other hand, the newer 6RR songs (Starry Night Future Ver, Coming To You, Happy Moment) is a bit too loud at Minimum volume. So there is a bit of inconsistent there. But I enjoy your music very much, just a feedback for you! Thank you very much.

Very interesting topic, though I am not in the field of game music, looks fascinating how technology needs to evolve on challenges such as here, controlling overall loudness of different mixes.

I actually find it fatiguing to listen to modern pop songs because of the extreme limiting that is done. Have you heard of the "loudness wars"? Too much compression definitely does limit the dynamic range of audio.
Yuzo, Loudness War - Good example is Shinobi 3 Elevator........Great music on that stage sort of hurt by Elevator hummm. (I know you didn't write that music)
You must deal with many many many native english speakers, your accent is barely there. It's excellent! You should probably see if some indie developers want some of that retro FM sound in their soundtracks, lol.
