In the video I mentioned that the voice command gesture does not make a sound, it actually does! I realized that I had my phone on silent, so it wasn't making the sound. My mistake! Hopefully, if you've tried it, you'll see that it actually does make a sound to let you know that it is listening.
Great job on the video! I am glad you made this. I hope a lot of people see this and realize that this is one of the best features and talkback. At least in my opinion.
Oh, and I think I might know where you're going with that hide screen thing. If it's about the 3-minute countdown message, I absolutely hate that as well. It is so dumb.
It seriously is!! I don't know why they do that and I've sent multiple feedback about it and no one cares in Google. Someone thought it was a good idea. UGH.
this is the best thing you have done thus far. but i have one question, if i say enter, with a type of new line? i think that answered my question. i think i have to go to the keyboard, and hit the enter button to do a new line. currently, i'm on android 11, and they have added sound for voice commands on my phone. and it does need work, because it does tend to start run on sentences a lot.
Haha. Thank you so much. You may want to try "new line" instead of "enter". It's a bit hit or miss for me and talkback though. Yeah, I realized that I had my sound mode off (it was on vibration) and that's why it was not making the sound. best wishes - Carrie 💖
@Carrie on Accessibility thank you. that's helpful. but also, it also tends to stop in the middle of dictations as well. except i am actually figuring this out, and when i do stop in the middle of dictation, it doesn't put a space in between.
Are you doing the right, then up angle gesture? I would suggest going to talkback settings, then customize gestures and checking what you have the right, then up gesture assigned to. If you're using voice commands for the first time, a pop up should come up talking about them.
I have always had the most outlandish responses from AI anytime I have ever tried to do a command where I speak. The misinterpretation could never be more embarrassing or possibly even worse it automatically summoning emergency services or the police, or waking up an extended relative in the middle of the night, that are not needed at all while I am very unpresentable and only wanted to open a book, or play some music or open some more mundane file. No I don't want video face time to come on or my own live chat or something. Every time I ever try voice command weird things happen like that and I'm always mostly naked, and the touch screen doesn't respond as I'm screaming "No! Stop! Stop! Cancel! Cancel!" and a few top shelf swear words.
Haha. I'm sos orry that you've had that trouble Audrey. Well, at least the talkback voice commands is not the same as an assistant so those things shouldn't happen, though talkback might do some weird things. 😀
