Talking about all 8 of my "wizard skating" setups

There's a lot of options out there from the handful of rockered frame makers, but it's really cool to see who is willing to push the limits! The Roka teaser looked to be more of a change in the tech, with bridges and some other subtle details, I don't think it's a new 6-wheel frame but not totally sure!

I'm so glad it was helpful, I've had all these thoughts stored up for a long time so it really all just flowed out naturally :D The roka frames are total powerhouses, the 125/76 especially feels like it's a totally different sport with how sunken in you feel and how much stability they offer

@@billyarlew I ordered the Roka 90/72 frames yesterday. I´m very excited :) The only thing is: I'm not sure if I´m gonna like the SEBA CJ2 Boots as they only have a velcro fastener in the middle. I hope this will be tight enough (and last long) to have maximum control over the frames. I used the SEBA FR1 for my endless Arc frames.

I dont' have much experience ice skating but based on what I've seen you either pick figure skates or hockey skates and both of those styles have very little padding of any kind. Rollerblade boots usually have quite a bit of padding and so they can be more comfy, as long as you find a style that fits. I have very wide feet especially in the toes and so the Seba CJ2 prime is my favorite option, combined with the heat-moldable intuition premium liner. What I like about skates is it's just 3 main parts: boot, frame, wheels. To me it's very similar to snowboarding actually: boots, bindings, board. 🤷‍♂

Thank you for the comment :) I'm glad to share all my thoughts and to answer your question I think 165 is pretty easy to adapt to coming from UFS, but the height of the boot above the frame is a drawback. There are some newer frames like the FR100/90 and the Endless Swan that work around this, and I think that is very promising actually. All the frames in this video except the ice blade have a slight raised heel, and then personally I use the intuition heel shock absorber plus a 3/4 length insole, so after all's said and done I have substantial heel raise going on anyway. For reference, the only 165 mount boot I have skated was the micro delta f, and i used it with a 4x80 slalom frame and the endless 4x110. The boot was hard on my feet, but I did a lot of fun skating in the 110's. I even tried the Roka 90x72 with it! There's a few videos on here showing those sessions in the Flatland Practice Series

Do you prefer the support of it glued? When I got the white CJ2's I did not like the "foot in a cast" feeling... but after my first session they had separated and had a more organic forward flex.. I'm torn about whether to glue mine or not..

Definitely! It has a great rocker and if it’s a size you feel more comfortable with a shorter frame then that’s a perfect option

Hi Vittorio! Thanks so much for following along and reaching out! It's a great question... I think there are some benefits to each option you listed, and maybe some drawbacks. Like you mentioned, for urban skating, it's nice have bigger wheels to roll through rougher pavement, but it's also nice to have a compact setup for maneuverability... The Arc is light and compact but the 76mm wheels can feel pretty small after they get worn down a few mm... Then the Advanced are fast and stable, but quite heavy... I haven't tried the Rockin 90/80, but I also looked at the Roka 90/80 which is pretty similar.. Overall I think if you like to cruise and just kind of chill skating around, then do wizard, I would go for advanced, but it won't be great for sprinting around... But if you want those "light feet" for jumping on things and sprinting, but not as much top speed, then the Arc is really nice. I think it would be really cool to see Endless to a bit larger version of the Arc that is still lightweight but 5 larger wheels for those who want a bit more speed and don't mind a longer frame. Well I'd like to answer the swively part later when I can try the Advanced with new wheels. I have tried customizing the rocker with different wheel sizes so I dont' know how it feels out of the box... But the Arc ES is a very stable rocker, not too much but not too little. It's just intuitive is how I would call it. For urban skating, I like them for different reasons. The Advanced will plough over any pavement and it's so long that I feel very stable at high speed, but it's heavy and that makes it harder to sprint on. The Arc on the other had is lightweight and more compact so I can accelerate quickly and navigate tigher spaces, but it feels like a lower top speed in comparison to the Advanced. Hope that helps :)

I really like the Velcro. The stock buckles would sometimes slip and the Velcro never does. I also felt pain from the buckles sometimes due to how hard they are, whereas the Velcro are more comfortable. Lastly the buckle receivers would catch on each other when my feet were pressed together causing me to fall, and the Velcro never does :)

Ice skate frame has two edges, so I can only cut two carrots at a time, not one.
