That shot of David hugging the lamp is so magical it’s hard to explain. It’s childlike & whimsical. If it was done by anyone else it would feel forced & inauthentic. Warms your heart & makes you feel like everything is going to be ok
@@bibearfan uh? It simply means it’s a beautiful song- tied to memories and we have emotions and are human. Lol. You probably open ur empty online dating profile inbox and weep, rudie.
Without a doubt the best love song. Zero syrup or superficiality, total depth and delight. It reminds me of the Rumi quote, "Know then that the body is merely a garment. Go seek the wearer, not the cloak."
there is something so special about this performance. the original is wonderful, but this is ethereal. his moments with the lamp are so beautiful, in a way that's difficult to explain. magic.
I could watch this performance a million times and never get bored. Thank you David, thank you Tina, thank you Chris, thank you Jerry and the rest of the people who made this possible.
I first saw Stop Making Sense when I was 14. Watched it with my dad and felt such a strong wish that I could've been alive during that era of music. A few months ago I had the chance to see it again in a theatre and it was an awesome experience. Still holds up and is such a beautiful piece of cinema and music all the way through.
Love this song, I might go as far as saying, I love David Byrne. We share Asperger’s and he hasn’t let it debilitate him, he’s flourished with it. In my own way, I’m trying to do the same. Thanks David, for who you are and what you do, such an inspirational artist.
the song and band i grew up to my dad intoduced me to i never knew how timeless and how legendary this song and talking heads are when you start getting a bit older you dont understand how good it is till you start to age
@@tsunamiboimonkeyman i notice this about her in different songs, she will adoring look at one of her band mates (including the additional musicians and singers) like she’s in awe by their talent in these live performances at that very moment
Home is where I want to be Pick me up and turn me round I feel numb, born with a weak heart I guess I must be having fun The less we say about it the better Make it up as we go along Feet on the ground, head in the sky It's okay, I know nothing's wrong, nothing Hi yo, I got plenty of time Hi yo, you got light in your eyes And you're standing here beside me I love the passing of time Never for money, always for love Cover us and say goodnight Say goodnight Home is where I want to be But I guess I'm already there I come home, she lifted up her wings I guess that this must be the place I can't tell one from another Did I find you, or you find me? There was a time before we were born If someone asks, this where I'll be, where I'll be Hi yo, we drift in and out Hi yo, sing into my mouth Out of all those kinds of people You got a face with a view I'm just an animal looking for a home, and Share the same space for a minute or two And you love me 'til my heart stops Love me 'til I'm dead Eyes that light up, eyes look through you Cover up the blank spots Hit me on the head And ah-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh Ah-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh Hey Ah-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh Ah-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
You’re going to think this is insane. Even batshit crazy. My interpretation of this scene is about the afterlife. What the Tibetan Buddhists call the in between state after death and before birth.
