I’ve seen an Ather showroom in Indirangar, Bangalore for the last few years. They were doing testing and operations for the last few years. Should appreciate the efforts done by that company. As per Ola, first get money from customer and then think about developing a product. A huge attitude change.

I remember reading a cover story in 2001 in either OD or Autocar about the "Imminent arrival" of Suzuki Jimny. I wanted to buy it then. Still waiting! Like most of their new releases, Suzuki must be waiting to make the design "ugly" (looking at you S-Presso) before releasing it in India.

Even I tried buying Ather from Bangalore. And I was planning to use it in Kerala. But they resisted and told me to wait until the Kochi showroom opens. This happened in 2020 February I believe.

At least Gurkha and Thar are based on cars initially built under license from the original manufacturers (Mercedes-Benz and Willys Overland). I think the OG Pajeros and Land Cruisers were Jeeps under license too...

Any resident of Electronic city area in bangalore who everyday travels towards city can vouch for Ather moped being extensively tested since 2018-2019 itself.Now only ola S1 being tested and actually we can see it being tested on roads by test drivers now only.

Jimny is a bit over hyped and its price sky-rocketed in the last couple of years in its current markets. It has a wow factor being a very capable compact off-roader when compared to other biggies in the game. Better to keep our expectations low so that we are not disappointed when we it finally arrives.
