It does seem like that generation was more mature earlier. You never would’ve seen photos of them leaving a bar drunk where as the generation after did so publicly. It was purely Charles' fault!! Had he not let Camila to be around, even uninvited, the marriage would have survived. Thankfully lessons were learned and William was much more free to make his own choice and to not have to marry a virgin. Charles was required to marry and aristocrat AND a virgin. I grew up in England. Organized visiting the elderly is quite common in England. Nothing unusual about it at all. When I was in school, we were encouraged to visit the elderly and were assigned a weekly visit. Diana was not doing anything more than thousands of the English do on a regular basis.
