we all call him 'Croney'...because he's the little brother that everybody in SD has adopted. But I like calling him 'Jake the Rake, 'cuz hs said its his favorite nickname. The extension shocked me because like Kevin Acee implied, I thought there was no money left for Jake😁...but no one can argue that this kid didnt earn every dollar of that deal. Dont believe me?..imagine him NOT on this team, and then try to imagine another guy like him that literally never wants out of the lineup...never takes days off..produces for you...VERY, VERY RARELY makes a defensive or baserunning error on the field....and plays every position on the field, except catcher. And he can probably play there, too. So, he earned the money, GOOD NIGHT.

Jake has made the Padres look like fools for signing him to a big contract. His production has been on the decline the past two seasons and 2023 is on pace to be his worst season yet offensively. His defense is great but how many defensive players can the Padres have on their roster who don't produce offensively? Grish is another one so we have two starters now who are great with the glove and shit at the plate. Padres never should have given Jake a new contract without seeing how he produced in 2023. Now they're stuck with him
