Tallahassee Inspired - Dr. Shelby Chipman 

For more than 75 years, the FAMU Marching “100” has been thrilling local, national and international audiences with its high-energy performances. Keeping the band true to its roots and contemporary at the same time requires skillful leadership. FAMU Director of Bands Dr. Shelby Chipman has been leading that effort since 2016. In this episode of Tallahassee Inspired, Dr. Chipman talks about his journey from learning trumpet as a child, to becoming a member of the Marching 100, and ultimately becoming Director of Bands and professor of music at FAMU.
