Damn, I had NO idea Tally Hall was having a fandom renaissance right now. Amazing. Does this mean the band t-shirt I bought at a show where they were supporting a headliner is now a lot more valuable?? Lmao
Tally Hall had the same influence on my life. I first discovered it as the ruler of everything 2020 meme, and I looked into hoping to find the full song. I searched for gold and found diamonds. They very quickly became one of my favorite bands and I genuinely really wished I had found them so much earlier.
Haha yeah, for me it was Hayden who started playing the albums while we grinded on GTA and Ruler of Everything stood out to me because of the meme. But then I started listening to the album on my own and fell in love with it.
Hey! Ross is featured on many of the tally hall songs as a background vocalist! (For example, he’s the one who sings “the wind knows, “the wind knows” at the end of Hymn For A Scarecrow)
Woah if you are Joe Hawley from “Your Mother is a Basketball” and I am also Joe Hawley from “Your Mother is a Basketball” then who is the real Joe Hawley?
It's such a shame how many songs of their have gotten popular but not really been connected *to* them. I actually discovered them only because it turned out about three of my favorite songs were all by them, and i hadn't realized for the longest time.
Lol, I assume you may have heard them from TikTok? I don't use it but I've heard that a couple Tally Hall songs have gotten really popular. Which 3 were they, I'm curious.
@@JacobConklin surprisingly not! I was big into the animation community back in like 2018 and Tally Hall got popular there. Hidden in the Sand, Turn the lights off and &, which I'm pretty sure were their most popular back then anyway. Soon after connecting the dots i ended up in the rabbit hole of Tally Hall and they're pretty much the only band from whom I've loved every song (that was a tough sentence to formulate). I actually haven't seen much other than, as you mentioned, Ruler of Everything on TikTok, but i haven't been on it for too long aha. Love the video!
"I'm sure you've seen this meme by now" "no- we are here cause we want tally hall not people using their music" some random annoying tally hall fan-2021
As someone leg deep in their tally hall obsession, once it gets into your life, its staying right there. I decorated half my room in tally hall stuff/ paper decorations and I love them like day 1 after months
Cool video! I first discovered Tally Hall through the Ruler of Everything meme, and at first i disliked the song, but then i realized that the only reason why i kept watching every single ROE meme that i could find was because of the song itself. And then a channel called Silvagunner made a Tally Hall "takeover" and i went from "i like this band, but they're not my type" to "thank you Tally Hall for my life" in just one day. The Tally Hall Internet Show gives me huge Adult Swim vibes, and i hope that it gets a season 2 someday, some of the jokes were ahead of its time.
There is so much Tally Hall lore that I didnt even cover in this video. And even though its 3 hours long, I recommend Just Jargon's documentary on Tally Hall (Not only is the video good, but Jargon watched this video and helped share it, he's a very based guy)
Wow!!! This is literally amazing!!! As I have been a tally hall fan for almost 3 years, I’m so happy to see you post this from your shared interest!!! Super fun! (Go Sun Devils by the way!!!)
The reason hidden in the sand is so popular on tiktok was likely caused by its earlier use as a popular animation meme/amv song in the animation community
really very good video. I'm Brazilian and I managed to have a great understanding thanks to the subtitles, as there aren't many Brazilian videos about the band
I found an old skit that Danny Gonzalez appears in that uses Ruler of Everything. It also uses Roundabout as its end credits music 4 years before JoJo.
@@JacobConklin This version is the one that isn't split into 2 parts: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-54BAqYnripo.html Ruler of Everything briefly appears at 1:30
Haha thanks, I would probably have a bigger audience if I uploaded more often. I don't really get inspiration to make videos much, but I'm happy to see that this video in particular has reached so many people. 30 thousand views!
It was mine too! Before I really started listening to Tally Hall, Hayden introduced me to Turn the Lights Off and Banana Man. It's still one of my favorites, but I think I've started to like Two Wuv and Cannibal more.
The same chicken costume as Jerk Chicken also appears in the music video for In A Dream by Skybox, who toured alongside Tally Hall. I know they aren’t but I like to imagine they’re the same character.
Haha thanks, it means a lot. Idk man, I've only made three videos in this sort of style, and also these kinds of videos take a long ass time for me to make so I havent been able to make a lot of them
I have been listening to tally hall for 2 years now,I found them trought fnaf animations with the song hidden in the sand then I only heard the bidding in spotify after I started hearing all of their song and the 2 albums, and now I'm making a animation with my favorite song (I will probably make a other with the song welcome to tally hall with the members and all) (The one I'm making right now is with the song ruler of everything with a oc)
ok so uhm update im doing right now a animation of good day and the way i got into tally hall is wrong i actually got into them because of a video in those random youtube generated playlist (i have heard hidden in the sand before but i never searched the band) the video was the mind electric but different or something so after that i started listening to the bidding and now im a fan of them so yeah you can see some wips of my animation in my channel :)
I first found tally hall in a youtube shorts loop, (the song was the bidding), but I didn't really like it at first. Then the ruler of everything meme happened and now I'm in love with tally hall
How-how *dare* you call such a talented squatter a loser! Look at that man's squat! He must have Slavic blood in him. I bet Hayden has a mean power squat.
Haha, thank you, I just started making videos in this style, but it takes a lot of work, (idk how people like Jargon upload as often as they do). Thanks for the support!
@@ToasterBrain51702 oh yeah I see: "Rob Cantor created a band with Andrew Horowitz and Zubin Sedghi. Cantor would later recruit Joe Hawley to the band, and it was renamed to Tally Hall." 3:12
Did you listen through the entire Marvin's album before they noticed it was Tally Hall, coz if so, how did they not pick up that it was them after Welcome To Tally Hall
No, I think you've misunderstood what I mean. They knew that we were listening to Tally Hall, but they didn't know that Hidden in the Sand was part of their catalogue until it came on. They have heard the song plenty of times before on Tik Tok, but never realized that the song was made by the band I liked.
YOOOOOO, Hayden and I have been trying to find more Tally Hall fans on ASU campus, glad to see there are more than just us lol. Feel free to say hi if you see me on campus 🙂 (however unlikely that may be)
