@@mykale this song is abstract as fuck especially compared to other ones like the bidding and ruler of everything (and even banana man if you wanna make a crackhead theory about that one) ive listened to this multiple times yet i have absolutely 0 clue about what theyre talking about.
@@higoodtoseeyouhere298 I took it as both a retort to nihilism and a comfort to the death of the band by presenting the duality of obsolescence. It offers a chilling diminution on the perspective of everything around us but comfort in the birth of something new, in the spring that comes with every storm and vice versa.
Andrew and Ross went hard on this one!! their words just... they blew me away with how much work and detail went into them. truly another banger from them!
the first step to making a tally hall is: 1 tablespoon of Jack Stauber A pinch of Lemon Demon 2 Tablespoons of queen, weezer and the beatles and then *blend.*
Fun fact: The kids who ask the moon about the sky were Joe's mom students, but nobody knows where they are (btw the kids' names are Roberta Tamm and Taylor Jassen)
Lol if or whenever you get to Hymn for a scarecrow, you'll finally be able to light up Ross's box. (Hymn for a scarecrow being his first vocal debut in one of the Main tracks)
tbh no they arent. at the time this was released i was unaware of this channel and theres plently of other factors that ARE helping the fandom more. The G&E repress recently was announced and is shipping next month, the fandom has had a major resurgence with the memes and popular songs on their songs. people like Chonny Jash are making covers, which is bringing many people to the band. As a member of the fandom, I can confirm that this person has next to nothing to do with how active the fandom is. No hate to them of course, just want to point out that even this being a half joke is overexaggerating
Spring and a storm is my all time favorite tally hall song, and it’s the last one that was ever performed by one of the members, with Joe Hawley alone on the stage with an acoustic guitar, choking up on “and never again” which is the only time his enigmatic demeanor broke on stage. He was the member that wanted the band together again the most, and some of them(I think Zubin, Andrew and Ross) were even supposed to be there that day but had to cancel for unrelated reasons, leaving the last date they were all together being the night of their final concert. What’s even more tragic is that the song is about how everything eventually ends, and you may try and prolong it’s run, but it will all fall to entropy sooner or later.
it's not the last song to be performed at all, andrew performed whole world and you plus a part of taken for a ride in both 2019 (Sonic Lunch) and 2023 (Bowery Ballroom). even just for joe songs there's him playing ruler of everything on ukulele in 2022 or something
you're missing something, there are some whispered lines in the first radio-like part, and there's at least three voices a few places you missed, like the "many people think that's where you go when you die". some indicators for who sings which would also be nice for people who don't know everyone
YOOOO you have returned! can't believe i waited over a year for this, time flies :') i honestly never really thought about who was singing the pitched down parts, did you tune it higher to find out who sang it or did you just KNOW?
@@Koichi-Kun yeah i did! it was pretty nice to hear. this whole situation has been a lot but i don't think i would ever stop listening to the band. just kinda gotta separate art from artist
@@HenryRutabega yeah, it also makes me think the hiatus was only meant to be a few years but Joe’s (most likely) schizophrenia got worse and made it so they couldn’t really have another album or tour with him in the state he was, atleast we know they’re still on indefinite hiatus.
@@Koichi-Kun yeah I'm pretty sure Andrew mentioned something regarding that in this statement about everything I really hope the rest of the band is doing alright with this information being found out about joe
