Can't stop buying Tamdhu, it's just moorish, have found adding a wee drop of batch strength to the twelve lifts it to another level.

I’ve been doing this with Highland Park 12. It needs a lot more help than Tamdhu though: 3 parts 12, 2 parts Cask Strength.

I get a lot of red fruits on the 12 too. on my second bottle now (just opened it). The 15 is simply the superior dram for me... I would only give the edge to the 12 considering the value, the 15 is too pricey indeed. At first you may think the 15 is too subdued, but with time you realize that it's just too well made, too balanced, and that's why it gives you that impression. I had it side by side with the GlenAllachie 15... and everything about the GA15 was more powerful... but in the end, as contradictory as it was, I gave the edge to the Tamdhu 15. It's just really, really well made whisky, everything works out perfectly together. I can see someone not enjoying it as much because they expect a big sherry punch. This is not what the Tamdhu 15 is about. It's about balance and elegance... beautiful dram.

I'm a fan of Tamdhu the batch strength is one of my favorites and these two are also great drops. Enjoy!! I had a similar experience with Glenfarclas 10 and the 15 for some reason I just love the Glenfarclas 10 its a butterscotch bomb and the 15 is mostly sherry flavors. Go figure.....

I love your videos, they are honest and convey a huge passion. Great review, I never tried Tamdhu and can't wait to buy a bottle of these. Here you can get a 12-year-old bottle for €60 and a 15-year-old bottle for €100 (don't tell anyone😂). Best regards, Wade.

Nice one Wade, looks like you've really enjoyed making this video 😃🥃 I have not tried the 15 but even though I'm not a massive sherried whisky fan I really enjoyed the 12. Now that I now the 12 punches above it's weight, I think I'll stick to it as well. Cheers brother, another great review 🥃

Great video! If i see the 12 ill have to pick it up. If you never had it the woodford reserve historic barrel entry LTD#18 is wonderful! Nose has a wonderful maple and brown sugar notes with hints of cinnamon and oak. The palate is syrupy with maple notes, cinnamon and oak with a long finish.

Does anyone know if tamdhu 12 has jumps in quality from certain batches? I have a Tamdhu 12 and can not really get into it. I do not get any red fruits or sultanas, raisins. For me it's more sour and lemony much more simlilar to a pure ex bourbon cask whisky. Strangely i find his really close to a glenfarclas 12, which i also do not like that much. If i consider Highland Park 12, Tamdhu12 and Glenfarclas 12 as representatives of pure sherry matured whisky , for me i would say i am not a fan sherry matured whisky. But i do love sherried whisky such as Glen Garioch 15, Glendronach 12 to 21, Kavalan Olorosso Sherry Solist, Macallan 12 Sherry Oak and lots of sherry finished stuff such as Speyburn 15, 18, Bunnahabhain 12 and 12 cs, Glenmorangie Lasanta and Accord, Royal Brackla 12, GlenAllachie 12 and 15. Older Glenfarclas i do enjoy thouth beginning from the 15.

Perhaps I just got a good batch of the Tamdu 12, I was really surprised with it to be honest which is why I was so impressed. Highland Park 12 pales in comparison to the Tamdhu 12 in my opinion, but also agree with you that the likes of GlenDronach 12, Bunna 12 and GlenAllachie 12 are even better again.
