A gift from the RC ELF, the holiday buggy is awesome fun, but was pretty mundane with the stock 380 motor and 10t pinion. We installed a Tamiya 18t pinion and an HPI RACING Firebolt 15t 540 motor

I forgot to comment on the other video, I love your intro thing, it's got a ton of energy! That's a significant upgrade to that buggy! I didn't see it before but I've seen other videos with the 380 motor and it hasn't been fast... DT-02 is a great buggy, I just built one a couple weeks ago, I am putting a video together about it, should be ready any day soon.

Woke the thing up a lot. Still couldn’t Brit was doing wheelies. Honestly though I’m just glad the 18t pinion worked 😁

It was fun to build, also fun to see the speed with the stock 380 and then the 15t 540. Side note totally recommend those hpi racing motors for the price ya can’t beat it. Thanks for watching my friend

It’s a hot rod now 😁 I expected a problem with using the 18t and almost sent you a message before I tried it but it worked beautifully. I knew it’d be faster, wasn’t expecting wheelies like that😎

@@IowaBudgetRCBashers I would replace the pinion eventually as it may wear out the spur gear a little quicker being a little loose but from the video it didn't look super loose so you should be good for a while. Much better than too tight! It really turns into a whole new car with a fast motor and some oil shocks. Seeing as you went with the HPI motor with the longer shaft you can get a standard sized pinion as there is enough room on the shaft. The Tamiya motors have shorter shaft lengths on the stock, sport and torque tuned so you have to run that slim Tamiya gear.

@@AddamsPlayground I checked it with a piece of paper, probably should’ve showed that. Equal all the way across so I think I’ll be ok. There’s no slipping issues that I can tell.
