We tend to try and stick to Tamiya stock motors as a rule, as that’s what we feel they were designed for, power is great, don’t get me wrong, but the way we drive it could be lethal 🤣😂👍
The Beetle Rides Again!!!! Remember in the late 80's people would lower the truck(s) (MB & BF) put on smaller tires and race them... They started the whole racing truck class.. Glad you got it sorted... RIP BR!!!!
"It's running like an oil protester from a job center" really made my day ... Great build! You should paint the golden wheelz in a slime green or do a black&white spiral on 'em. Maybe a spider web inside the drivers cabin would add the last bit of flavor to the car, too.
Looks great guys! I've always liked running Tamiya in the wet, especially the Lunchbox...so satisfying watching it spin the wheels and slip all over. I've wanted to add a beetle to my collection...I was thinking the Blitzer Beetle or the Rally Beetle. These bodies have so much character just like the lunchbox, you can do anything with them. Sorry for rambling on...all good fun boys!
Hey guys! Love the beetle revamp, looks very cool indeed. So, is the chief engineer starting to warm to this model a bit more now all the gremlins have been banished? Im a huge fan of the big wheeled ORV family of Tamiyas, and have 3 monster beetles, a blackfoot and a mud blaster. Their main issues are the awful gearbox, tendency to spit out drive shafts, and very sloppy steering. Once these issues have been sorted they are actually a fairly robust, fun model with a great turning circle. My runner monster beetle has MIP ball diff, upgraded shocks, high torque servo saver, rear trailing arm limiters (to stop driveshafts popping out) and a BZ motor! It's very fast, handles exceptionally well, and rarely breaks down. Glad you gave this model another chance anyway lads! It would be interesting to see a few lunchbox V monster beetle 'trials' videos perhaps sometime in the future?...... Just a passing thought, love both platforms! All the best lads. 👍 👍 👍 👍
I think it’s been saved from the chopping block…for now. He did have a Black Foot but that was plagued with issues, mainly because it was old and everything became very brittle. Eventually it had to be sent to the farm. LB vs Monster Beetle could be a good idea. I will mull it over 🤔😂👍
Hi there gentlemen, a wonderful revamp to the awesome resin Beetle shell, like the idea of the iconic Beetle Juice film, such a great film. Glad you managed to find a spot in Buxton, but more importantly a small break in the rain that the UK seems to be enjoying (well, can’t do anything but moan about it, so may as well enjoy it😂😂) it’s the damn Jet Stream’s fault! It’s sitting too low over the UK, letting the weather systems from the Atlantic drive across us 🫣🤔🧐. At least the water companies can perhaps reduce their charges now 😂😂😂best wishes 😊😊
I do like these hard shells as it is far easier to switch a theme with them, and give it a new look. I’m surprised that they still haven’t issued a hosepipe ban, just for old times sake 🤣😂👍
I love the new look!! I especially love the little Beetle Juice driver in there! I am glad you guys got the weird glitchy business gone and it run reliably now. It did look a bit damp out there so not an ideal day of driving but it looked great out there dodging puddles!
Yes, oddly by putting the Ghost with the Most in the drivers seat it’s got rid of the other Gremlins it seems. It was a very wet day but it held up. We might now try and use it more often 🤔
