Yeah, I agree it's a strange car for Tamiya to reproduce, but then it is a Subaru, and they seem to make plenty of models of that brand! Your darts idea of selection may not be far off the truth! It is a great looking model and should be fun when it hits the streets. I think 2 shells is great as you can go nuts creatively. Looking forward to seeing what you make of yours also. Brat Attack 😆👍

He may be the chief engineer but he is stopped in his tracks by a Tamiya box! 😂 Great video as always guys 👏🏻 Love that somehow this ended up as a RC from Tamiya! Sport tuned is going to get it moving! I am not a huge fan of the three part wheels… my hands were a mess after trying those!
Yes with his box opening abilities it’s hardly surprising that the odd wheel falls off now and again. It’s a strange model to make but I’m looking forward to running this. In reality we took it out earlier, this weather is hardly ideal for the sport tuned motor! Thank you for watching 👍
I think that if you were at that Christmas party in Japan in the early 80's the choice of the Subaru Brat was probably not so strange. It was one of the first small 4WD pick-up trucks that was marketed as being fun rather that just something to throw gravel into the back of. They included rear facing seats that you could put in the pickup bed so they could pretend it was a car and pay less tax. Another 'interesting' fact is that the Brat name comes from Bi-Drive Recreational All-terrain Transporter. Anyway this is one where the Tamiya version is definitely better looking than the original as they made it into a more chunky truck. Have fun with the build. It's a really nice build but the hard body shell takes an age to complete. Also a nice car to drive and is my back garden favourite runner. Great vid guys.
Yes wanted one of these for a while so big thanks to the Elf. I must admit I didn’t go to many Christmas Parties in Japan, especially in the 80s, but I hear KFC is very seasonal for then. Crikey, no wonder Tamiya likes this chassis, we had an old Blackfoot at one point but it was costing a fortune in spares so we had to let it go. Does seem a great kit. As ever thanks for taking the time to stop by and comment 👍👈
This was the one that got away from me... I has the original, bought in 1984... I've wanted another one since I sold mine in 1990. 😭😭😭 When the Re-Re came out, I was so excited, then gutted when I couldn't afford it. A friend SAID he was getting me one! But 2 years later, safe to say I'm not getting it. The RC Elf isn't working his magic anymore.... maybe just with me. My birthday is coming up..... I'm not expecting it then either. 😞 I'm resigning to the fact that I'm just not getting one.... I'm about to be 60, so it's not like I've got forever to wait. Enjoy yours though! It's odd, but special.
They are quite pricey for what they are, and the steering rods leave a lot to be desired, but it is a Tamiya icon. I hope you get one, if not at 60, maybe 65 🤣😂👍
Yes a job like that really needs a professional, wasn’t the Capri advertised as “the poor man’s Porsche” I quite liked them, but I also liked the Opel Manta

A very nice looking car, but why didn’t Tamiya put the Subaru Brat on the TL01 chassis or the TT02 chassis? A 4wd on a 2nd chassis doesn’t work for me!
@@RCsoandso do you have a video explaining whats the deal with chief engineer and rc so and so? I assumed it was same person? Narrating and wrenching are different people? Did it fly over my head? Lol
The Cheif Engineer is an old pal of mine, we have never really explained fully but I run and edit the channel, the Cheif Engineer also is into the hobby so he does some unboxing, and is the more technically minded of us, hence why I went for a more managerial position 😂😆 My builds tend to take longer as I’m editing and so on, but I also do a lot of the painting 🖌🎨
Awsome thanks to rc elf youd sre i posted today too my rc elf rc, s ill go ahead and sub to u if not already buddy im modeller and rc fan so create both content for my channel iv couple i got last year to go with the channel mini 124TH scale crawler and 112scale commet but the kits i got today from the rc elf are by far awsome way better than ones id gotten also hobby grade last year anyway cool 2 body types in this im to get more bearing myself as i got the plastic bearings but ill order in over xmas as im going to order a 2nd radio battery servo charger an the bearings im watching your video as i write ill stop now and enjoy rest ur video👍👍👍
