Thanks, appreciate it. Trying to create something like this sat on the floor was a bit of a challenge in itself. I have a small desk but hard to put a camera anywhere that works. I prefer making the running videos but it makes a.nice change whilst it continues to rain here in the U.K.
Lots of cool tips and stuff in here!! Thanks for sharing all that! Sorry you have been waiting for parts forever but I think we all know that pain all to well now! great video and I'm looking forward to the next one!
Great video! Very interesting. Great and practical tips (painting dogbones is such a brilliant idea). I have two WR-01's. I modded Wild dagger with tall shocks and towers. Towers I simply drew myself and 3D printed. Should buy GPM ones some day. But when going for tall shock mod, almost in any case, you need to make turnbuckles, since you cannot reuse plastic links. For second model, the Dual Hunter I left it mostly stock, just replaced the friction dampers with short CVA's (did not change the towers/height). I event went extra mile with the first one (Wild Dagger) and locked both diffs with fourth bevel gear and made rear steering. It crawled nicely, but did not like how it drove under speed, so reverted back to open diffs and single servo steering.
Hi there, lots of hints and tips in that video for the WR-01 chassis. Some great upgrades too, for the chassis, that will help the model perform well too. I like the calmness of how you have portrait the model upgrades too. Nice video. Take care, keep well and all the very best to you and the family 😊😊
I really like how you create/build your tips videos. Pretty straight forward with some nice tricks (ex: painted dog bones). Good balance between text and footage. Great job ! Good luck with your project !
Cheers. Looking to invest in a new PC soon so when the weather is better I can work on running videos again which is my favourite thing to do. All this rain is never ending though so though I would try a build video.
Hiya Damian. Interesting video. Some great mods and tips. I'd never thought of painting the drive shafts so you can find them. Genius! Also I'd often wondered about putting brass sleeves into the holes in the chassis to prevent wear but hadn't actually done it. I've got some where the suspension pivots are quite loose now so might look into it. Anyway looks like a great project. Best wishes mate 😀
Yeah, brass sleeves are a good thing to use when there has been wear and you want more life out of that part. You can buy 4mm.rods.with a 3mm bore as you probably know. Thanks for watching Pete 👍🏼
I’ve done this to my WT-01 and love it, I wasn’t sure if I had done the right thing to start with as 2wd is great fun as well, but I soon changed my mind once I started properly using it . I’ve got the parts now to make it 4ws as well. Good luck with your project I look forward to seeing it progress 👍
I grew up on 2WD and love it too. This is kind of a new thing for me so really cool to get this moving. Such a cool chassis and I don't see it getting much attention in the FB groups I am in other than the group dedicated to it. So, you think once I have driven this for a while I will want to convert the WT01 to a WR01....that sounds like this is going to be even better than I though and I am already excited about it. Great comment 👍🏼 I have a spare gearbox in case. I also bought a set of gears a.little while back, they are black so not sure if they are the same as standard. I only just remembered I have them. I meant to compare them to the stock set as I have seen you can get a different set for more speed.
Well, this is a bit of a custom build and won't have the original body shell but, I think the end product looks awesome so I hope you will too. This chassis was used for the Dual Hunter & Twin Detonator. This chassis is interesting as it can be ran with one or two motors. My Blackfoot 3 video may be of interest. Same chassis but single gearbox/motor. 👍🏼
