The Tamiya Blackfoot 3 is a 1/10th scale entry-level monster truck based on the 2WD WT-01 chassis and the classic Super Blackfoot (Blackfoot II) non-licensed Ford F-150 body mould. Here I take it for it's very first test spin on flat dirt, grass and tarmac.

While the rerelease of the first ORV Blackfoot was getting closer in 2016 I contemplated on the option of not aquiring that model. At that time I still had an unbuilt NIB Monster Beetle so I was in no great need of more unbuilt ORV's and time consuming hard body paint jobs. But at the same time I really wanted the option to run a classic looking monster truck with a beautiful Tamiya Blackfoot (Ford) hard body.
The obvious choice was the very affordable Blackfoot III XB #57825. A pre-build and ready-to-run version of the Tamiya Blackfoot III model #58498. The Blackfoot III comes with the Super Blackfoot body that the rerelease version of the original Blackfoot also comes with. As a bonus, it is even based on the WT-01 chassis that I really like running and working on.
As I already have another WT-01 it was also an opportunity to get my hands on some more WT-01 parts. When time comes the plan is to merge these two models into a WR-01, a 4x4 slow but high-torque monster truck. If time allows, perhaps even do a make-over of the non-painted hard body of the Blackfoot III XB. Many plans, little time.
If time is not my side, at least I have a beautiful 2WD Blackfoot III to go running with this year.
