I've heard a lot of great things about the Origin. I'm pretty happy with my Falcon Ultra, though, so I'm not sure I'll get this set unless I find a really good deal in the future. Thank you for another great review! 👍
This set is amazing. I’ve been loving mine. I don’t know why it got so much hate for its price but I feel the price is fair. It’s much better than all other popular single DD offerings in the same price range.
Speaking of immersion, "take me away" feeling set, down the road I hope you get to try DUNU SA6MK2, Origin was my daily driver before SA6MK2 and I rarely touch the Origins now mostly due to comfort and sound qualities. I do miss the DD bass though. I also found that after about a couple hours my inner ears start hurting too and they are heavy on the origins! I thought KATOs were heavy, Origins were about the same.
It’s been on my list since just about the beginning. Thought I had it for $150 when I got scammed on the Shop app. But alas. If I’m Gonna get it, I’m gonna have to stop buying every $100-$200 iem that gets released. Easier said than done lol!
@@BassDad8 Believe me you; took a lot of convincing wife and gratuity from a previous job to pull the trigger on a AliExpres sale! I only got it because USD 150 discounted on top of the listed price and only because I've never heard of BAs. Next time I'm trying a hybrid set cause I missss that DD punch and slam but SA6MK2 bass is no slouch either. I also run it on my iFi stack but alas BA bass on the SA6MK2 only get more sub-bassy and not mid bassy so no punch. I could never wear Origins to bed too bright for that but SA6MK2 now I can listen to Vore and still fall asleep LOL
@@Alxtorr77 Thanks. That does seem to be the general consensus. I’ve been thinking about the Falcon Ultra, but now I think I’ll just save up for the Tanchjim. Going to be tough sending this one home, but I know my buddy already misses it. ☮️
Great review! How would u compare the treble and techs on the origin to the quintet? Also, try Endless night and bon voyage from dreamcatcher, those are great too!
Thanks for the song recs! As far as treble detail, resolution and extension goes, the Origin does beat out the Quintet. Not by much, but the improvement is notable. It’s not just how technically proficient it is, it’s the smoothness. Just mind boggling that it can be that extended and energetic without any harshness to speak of.
@@BassDad8 Thanks for the reply, thats really surprising considering the origin is a DD which usually you would think it will lose out in the treble department compared to a multi driver
It’s the driver quality and implementation. To put it plainly, the Origin does everything the Kato does, it just does it more smoothly, with more detail and with a grander soundstage. I love my Katos, but honestly it’s not very close. The Origin is substantially better.
Me too. Although the Origin did make me think twice for a minute. I’m working on the funds for the DaVinci as I don’t think I’ll be receiving a complimentary set from Dunu anytime soon… lol
of course I have no idea how they sound. but I will tell you somethign - you shouldn't have a lot of bass for brutally brutal music. bass gives base (basis) for sound but I heard many studio headphones and they doesn't have so much base as any IEM's have. even this Origin (if we believe any of grarphs). yes, when used to this kind of presentation you probably searching for it. but that's not like this music was created.
I hear you on that. I just wanted a little bit more for metal. The true bass was too much, but I could have used EQ to get it there. Too much bass definitely muddies up metal. You gotta have just the right amount.
So to answer your question. yes. It is. But not by as much as I thought. The top 3 on my list are all just awesome. The Anunachi won because of its unique tuning style, 3D effects and technical performance and that it is half the price of the Origin. So that was kind of a tie. But the EA1000 was a very close second to those two sets.
