Just back - exhausted - from a week of steam, ale and rain on La'al Ratty - the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. I could have done without another day of travelling - but couldn't resist a chance to film on the Cumbrian coast on a day when the weathermen promised fine weather.
My one-time neighbour famously wrote about the best laid plans of mice and men - he wasn't wrong. Ah well - can't win 'em all!

One of those days Tim when things go wrong they don’t half go wrong, nice bonus for you to cab the 86 and some lovely interesting views over Whitehaven so not all lost, cheers 👍

Sometimes when things go wrong it brings out the creative in one - not to mention the bad language! A tiring day coming immediately on top of the Ratty week - but still enjoyable. Best wishes.

It was a hot day - my timings were limited by attending a meeting and paying more for parking than expected - thank you Northern! Still apart from the wind I think you got a decent set of shots! And a cab!

Aye - one or two people asked me where you were - I had to say that I didn't know. Now my computer's gone down - power switch probably, but leaves me out of action with five videos under way, not to mention a busy week ahead. Someone up there has got it in for me!

Still a good video despite the loss of sound. I hope your PC is not kaput. Good to see you got to cab Les Ross which must of made up for the other things going wrong,

Thanks Colin. Will be contacting a local repairer this morning - hopefully just the power switch at fault. Five videos currently underway and four specials at Carlisle in the coming week.

@@schoolshorts Hopefully that will be a quick repair. My PC is hanging on a thread and warns me of a hard rive problem so hoping it lasts out a bit longer. I see Sir Nigel is running on the same day as Andania goes to Scarborough Braunton is on her way to York now 03 06 2024, a busy week for charters.

Nice cab Tim on E3137. I had a choice many years ago regarding work, hgv or railway. Unfortunately I chose hgv so after 40 years it's to late to change. Excellent video again,thank you.

We all have to make these choices and can never know how we'll feel decades later - at least you chose a safe career - more secure perhaps than the railway. Glad you enjoyed the video.

According to RealTime Trains it was four minutes late - not bad after the Whitehaven holdup.

But you are still picking up wind noise and the birds so it must be recording something - or did you add these sounds?

All of that sounds was recorded during the long wait for Tangmere to arrive. There's nothing after the point where I brought the drone home to do a hasty battery change. I should have had close-up lineside video of the train and all the associated sound track.
