Piotr Leshchenko is the Great Master of tango. His pleasant baritone, music and liric are magnificent. Tango " Tatyana" is very lovely and moving. The whole clip is absolutely brilliant with gorgeous retro collection of stunning Russian models aristocrats. Thank You for sharing this excellent collection and unforgettable tango "Tatyana" .

Although the music belongs to a world that has long since vanished, the range of experience the singer conveys is valid for all time. - John Austin, Australia

Author and composer absolutely gorgeous tango Tatyana is Mark Marjanovskiy. This record was done in1 1935 year. Mark Marjanovskiy was also from Riga. He is author and composer very beautiful tango " Vino Lubvi" . Oscar Stroke wasn't author of tango " Tatyana".

I love Leshchenko's powerful voice ever since you uploaded Moj Drug, which occupies a prominent place on my favorites list. Sorry I missed you when I tried to call you earlier this evening; will try again soon.

@dzheger In 1920s and 1930s in Paris many models for haute couture collections were Russian aristocrats. Many of these breathtakingly beautiful and elegant ladies had simply no other way to survive after the catastrophe of their luxurious paradise in Tzarist Russia. First class photographers like Hoyningen-Huene - himself, a Baltic aristocrat born in St Petersburg - had a whole array of top beauties to pose for them. Perhaps, that's the source of the outstanding elegance of many of these photoes

Hello Grzegorz - Pyotr Leshchenko was a divine interpreter of Tango. Oscar Strok was a Tango Giant - in his his own right. You put those two together to arrive at a masterpiece. I want to know who is this super angelic Tango spirit looking beauty in the frames 1:05 through 1:11 and in the frames 2:13 through 2:23. Thanks for this upload and have a great day!!!

@tango3721 At 1:05 , 2:13 and 2:23 are models presenting Madeleine Vionnet haute couture collection of the year 1939, woman at 1:11 is a model posing for George Hoyningen-Huene - the Baltic Germano-American genius of the chic photography of the 1930s.

To 240252 I don't know why label saying O.Strok when Tatiana, as well as Wino Lubwi, Marfusha, Kavkaz, Dunya, Barcelona and many more, was written by the other composer from Latvia Mark Marjanovski. On modern CD and record author of Tatiana is M. Marjanvski. BTW, there is another song performed by Leschenko in You Tube that attributed to the composer A.Marianwski. This was his son, correct name is M. Marianowski, or Marjanowski.

@barbcard I know, you phoned. Perhaps next time I'll have more luck to be right at home when you're calling :-( Leshenko's interpretations always break my heart! He was such sweet person! He was Ukrainian, not Russian. And almost all his life he was spied, chased, haunted, tormented by that devil's organisation on this Earth in the 20th century, the Russian KGB...

@camille885 As matter of fact, it is not a Russian tango but Latvian! Leshenko wrote a Russian text to it, while melody was composed by Oskar Strok. He was a Latvijan-Jewish living in Riga - a wonderful gothic city on the Baltic shore and capital of independent Latvija until the Soviet aggression and annexion of it, in 1940. Strok composed a lot of tunes, incluging tangoes, especially for Leshchenko. They made a perfect duo, some of these reditions are listed in my note to this clip.

Unfortunately, the link you have put for 'Siniaja Rapsodija' is the duplicate of 'Barcelona'.
