Tank Crew: Panzer IV Platoon Take On Heavily Defended Village 

Kortana is such a game beast. Makes me smile every time she is in your stream CAP. The whole crew is so entertaining. Grim Reapers RULE!!!!!!

"I feel like I'm always banging my head..." That's some real-to-life tank simulation right there! You ought to look up real crew speak and give it a try, I feel like the team would enjoy it and it's suuuper important for words to have specific meanings in a tank crew. Especially for sensing on rounds.

Really enjoying this new series. As a Marine vet it's good entertainment. One suggestion would be, when you have 4 or more tanks in the mission to go Team 1 (tank 1 & tank 3) and Team 2 (tank 2 & tank 4). From a Platoon commander point of view, it'll make calling out tactical formations and maneuvers easier to manage because you can tell Team 2 to pincer right knowing that Tank 2 will be in charge of that flank, and so on.

Enjoyed this Cap. I see you still haven't twisted Socks & Simba's arm enough to crawl into a tank. Nice to hear Cortina's( I'm sure I misspelled her name...sorry my dear) voice again and listening to the other lads. Well all, well done.

These are very quickly becoming my favorite GR videos. For the next set of missions, you should try out the M4 Sherman. The commander gets to use a nice periscope and a Browning .50 cal for maximum boom boom. Keep up the good work!

A fun issue/bug/featyre of the IL2:GB series is that infantry and people don't exist outside of the vehicles. You can shoot and kill crew/drivers/gunners/pilots in tanks and planes, but they are invincible outside of the vehicle (although pilots in parachutes are still valid targets). When you destroy a vehicle without exploding it, you will see the surviving crew members abandon it, run away, and take cover nearby. They are invincible and will soon disappear. The same is true of AT guns, artillery guns, and machine guns, except that the crew will abandon the weapon even if it is still intact. Thus you can hit the gun with a machine gun while strafing with a plane or with a coaxial machine gun from a tank and the crew will run away and the gun will stop firing. In some cases they may re-man the gun a bit later, so you want to focus on destroying the gun after the crew runs away. This is why the crew of the Russian Maxim guns just stood there and spun around at the airfield: they couldn't run anywhere after abandoning the gun. You guys really freaked out over some of the crew running away last time and fired machine guns and pistols at them, but it wasn't necessary at all: focus on the guns. Remember that vehicles are destroyed when the crew runs away, guns still need attention, and the people running away are not a threat and are invincible.

That was awesome! I loved watching the larger group all playing together. It was an interesting mission too! I loved that you all got ambushed and had to adapt your approach. I also love that your mission designer seems to be putting together a kind of campaign arc to link these missions. Really looking forward to the next installment!

Good play Team Reaper! Really enjoyed the ‘blind’ teamwork kill you managed while damaged. Don’t think I’d ever play this VR; way too claustrophobic. Also, I’d never be a tanker I guess 🤔.

I like these PVE tank missions. I'd love to see an attack in line abreast against a prepared defensive position (lots of MGs, a few tanks and AT guns), and an enemy attack in line abreast (a couple waves of 6-10 tanks advancing on the players). It may also be kinda cool to have an eye in the sky to help spot things, especially when moving into a village, but most WW2 planes are far too fast to loiter in an area. Is it possible to have tank spawns (like the FOB) a bit closer to the front that get activated when the players reach them? Especially adding in a repair truck would be good, so players can get back into the action and not spend as much time driving slowly to the front. Specifically, several players got destroyed multiple times during the battle in the valley, and it would have been nice to have a spawn at the end of the airfield to get back to the valley battle quicker, and another one at the end of the valley to get to the attack on the village quicker.

here is something to ponder. as a kid in the early '60's, there wss a miniatures company that produced HO scale tanks, trucks, artillery, and men with all the small arms. they were correct in detail and with some functions. they needed not to be assembled, and if tires or tracks, they were rubber. all the markings were true, as was the paint scheme. one of the first ones they produced was the panzerkampfwagen 1, with a very short barrel!

Kortana should have had her own tank. She is basicaly excelent in driving anything. MI-24/Tank/F-22 Raptor, or a U-Boat. Just excelent

My mate was a Chally 2 gunner and even in a machine that size he said it felt claustrophobic so in a tank as small as the Panzer IV, it must've been awful.

Should turn the front of your tank to about 60 degrees towards the target reduces penetration on your tank. Could also move every couple shots so enemy has to reaquire you range. Good job other wise.

Cap, have you guys discussed tank platoon formations?, general advance out of contact is ok to use single file, however I do think you would use V formations or line abreast when advancing into contact??
