They really do hard work in there trainee days, even with food and money. Exo is really a good example of team spirit. Tao words really touch my heart. I can proudly say that they are my idols. I promise myself I will be such kind of EXO-L who follow exo's good things. We are one.
"I never envied anyone who's popular more than me bcz they can make the other members of the group be known " this lines just touched my heart He's literally speaking from experience and from his heart
Props to him for not stuttering lol. When I get heated, I end up stuttering and can't get my words out. These girls needed to hear this. Tao is a good person.
He is the first idol I see who talks about the group after leaving it , this man deserves respect , SM you lost a legend , l still consider exo as 12 members
Same here I became exo-l around 2021, that's also because of tao.. I respect them all.. Whether they are 12 or 9 or 8, No matter what problem came to them, I will always support them...
I was looking for English subs to his speech. I just gained a new respect for Tao, for the things he said. That's a humble person right there, which is a little different from the person i remember when he was with Exo back in the days. This speech was everything and i am so sorry to see him being this mad, bit he had to do what he had to do. I wonder if he got the same treatment when he got injured when in Exo. I hope not...
Of course, it did not happen, because he always says that he is grateful to the members of EXO, and he also made a song in which he remembered the members of EXO and EXOL's too
@@darkEXOL well, i was not expecting different bc i know how wonderful our boys are, i was wondering before he trained with Exo only. Idk how it works, do they train with band mates from day 1?
@@gravityVL1485 no. Basically, its the same setup of produce 101. They have to compete with almost 100 trainees until they were filtered down to 12. Every week they are evaluated on their performance but if I am not mistaken, the chinese traineese became close back then. You can read Lay Zhang's book to have a sneak peek of their trainee life.
@@xing_xoxo6205 thank you, this is what I thought, that's why I wondered if somehow he received the same treatment as the girl from other people. This cleared my mind 💕
I suddenly remember that days... when they are all together and having fun, smile, teasing each other ☺️☺️☺️.... And that's make me cry...😢😢😢 Because they are always stay together with there heart ❤️❤️
Literally had me tearing up. Tao is such a good person and I'm glad he's around to teach and guide these girls in their journey as artists. Even if they weren't in a group or in a different entertainment label, checking and showing genuine concern for that injured individual/artist will also make them an artist that fans would love to follow and look up to. Bless Tao's soul and heart.
What he said is really thought provoking, not only china, nowadays kpop trainees are so much more luckier comparing to the 2nd and the 2.5 gen idols. They are allowed to have cell phones, they don't have strict diet and curfews, they can order whatever food they wanna eat. Their dorms are also huge in general even for a group of 4-5. Days were completely different back then, i think this is why 2nd and 2.5 get idols always hold a special place in my heart. Not only as an idol or as an artist, they surely inspired me a lot that's why i respect them so much.
My thoughts as well. And even when 2nd/3rd gen groups debuted, they still didn't get upgraded dorms or able to order the food that they want. EXO has said they used to always eat Kimbap in their early days because it was cheap but filling. Whereas groups nowadays have a bit more luxury when you compared them to 2nd/4rd gen
@@lilyrose0116 yes exactly. I stan SNSD and when they were still rookies their dorms didn’t even have sofa because all nine of them won’t fit in so they would just sit on the floor to be fair to each member. On top of that they needed to do a lot more things to prove themselves to others of what they are capable of. Variety shows back then had the trend of doing 200% of what you can do, having special talents or skills was a must. Idols back then really let go of everything just to satisfy the audience, but now the trends now are more like reality. Definitely much more laid back. Rules were much more stricter as well comparing to nowadays so idols these days are really lucky.
@@sone_ss805not just snsd but also 2pm and 2am wonder girl and miss a when they trainee and rookie the company was so broke almost bankruptcy and for yg big bang and 2ne1 were struggle cause was small unknown company during big bang rookie areas and 2ne1 trainee day as well bigbang have lived in small apartments all 5 member share 1 bedroom, tvxq, super junior and fx were really mistreated by the company hangeng was first chinese idol he really hard time during his rookie area , beast ,4minute have it hard as well cause cube was a small company tvxq have file lawsuit against sm cause of mistreatment and because of them they changed korean law and kpop company law to 7 year Contract so 3rd gen and 4th can at least have better contract cause 5 to 2 member yeah 2nd gen really have hard time during their rookie area and trainee as well and were literally the blueprint for the 3rd gen and 4th gen.
Literally seeing where idols live now vs where Infinite lived before they made it makes me so shocked still sometimes. Cockroaches everywhere, 3 ppl in 1 room, no food, nothing. Even groups from small companies seem to have decent dorms and practice rooms nowadays...
I'm sure Tao misses his old days with exo a lot. Shortly after I became an exol, he left but it was years later, I watch all thier shows together as 12, they're really chill as a group, and genuinely seems to enjoy eo company, but whatever has happened, I'm sure it's meant to be. Love you Tao, wishing great success to your future carrier. From an exol 💗
@@manuelaklein9918 and who told you that Just because he left or now a CEO doesn't mean he doesn't miss his old days with his members even lay is now a CEO and left the company but still keeps in touch with them if only SM would let them interact with the other past members m sure they should still keep in touch till that is if they don't behind the screen cus u can't tell what happens behind the screen
it was the tremble in his voice as he remembered his own trainee days and his members. It was the anger at the fact that these girls were training as competitors like they were going as solo artists and not as a group... It was the fact that they were all too busy to win than to be human... And Tao was mad because they abandoned a friend who needed support and acted like nothing happened as they chatted away... because he knew all too well how that felt.
The way he teach them a lesson from his experience just makes me burst into tears. He may not be part of EXO anymore but he once was there, he was once part of the group. He still values it, he learned from it. I can't he any prouder than this with our forever panda. Tao's been a grown man.
that's why i know I stan the right group, EXO still standing as my main group, they literally never complained when they were trainees, and had an amazing relationship
Honestly, when you're at that moment, that's where the true person shines, which makes you picked. THAT CERTAIN MOMENT, instead of using your head and instead, your heart, that reveals if you are really a selfless person that is worthy to be an idol, or being a selfish one and not being worthy at all.
Another priceless ,well behave well rounded ARTIST .....a real JEM .....i'll never forgive SM coz of what he suffered in the time...really happy for him ....who successful a true ARTIST by himself now....
I've seen this clip many times and eyerytime i hear those words, i can't stop admiring tao even more. Despite all those challenges he have experienced during his trainee days and being an idol in sokor, he still never forget to look back and is still carrying the lessons he have learned from it. As an exo-l, im really proud of him and what he has become even after he left exo. I love you so much, Tao. ♥️
I regurally come back to Tao's speach. He speaks 100% truth here. He speaks from bottom of his heart. It's at the same time memories for Tao and warning for new idols. All new fans of k-pop and new idols should remember that in past it was not that easy like now. A couple of years ago idols had a very hard time training. Exactly like Tao says. I know now isn't great, but older idols had worse. A lot worse.
I miss him so much.. 😭 proud to be his fan..love him so much. Dont know why am i crying. He revealed his past with so much emotions and we can feel it..
Just came across this video while scrolling and While reading the comments I found out that no matter which idol group or artist you stan they are the lights of your life and we hold the same feelings. It's just that it's directed to different group or artist and I like this same same but different kinda vibe.
I have so much respect for this man... when he started shouting at them I could feel all the emotions people never understand what trainees go through to become idols but always just find reasons to hate on them
I liked him since the first time I saw him in brightest star in the sky. If he was still in exo I would surely Stan exo if he was still there.. He is really talented. It shows how he struggle so much.
I also loved him since i saw him in brightest star in the sky.i loved his songs.i started to search about him and got to know about EXO.i got to know how much talented and loveable is EXO,now i stan them.stanning EXO is one of the best decision i have made in my life
yes, he was 100% right about group work..... and that sentence about popularity ..... if one member is popular he his helping his members too.... to become popular in indirect way... 😊😍😭👏😔 i just fall for him from his role in... brightest star on the sky...
Absolutely true leader material. I try to tell my kids about my childhood what I went through and how lucky they are to have two parents that love them and doesn't abuse them in any way shape or form. We might struggle but they eat. And they have games and everything they need. My siblings and I never did and when we ate we were lucky and thankful. There's so much in life we take for granted and we need to appreciate the little things. And also if we're a team we have each other's backs. If you fall im stopping even at the finish line and Im helping you to that finish line. We start together we end together. That's how a team works💜💜
New EXO-L and after watching this clip I have such respect for Tao as a former EXO member. He seems like a really good person. I wish SM would've treated their earlier members better. I hope one day we could see them all together again. I mean the 11 members.
i saw the video of him scolding the trainees a few years ago. one of the things he said that really went straight into my heart was something like: back in the days, he didn't complain when there were members who had more screen time or were more popular than him, because those members who are more popular can bring fans to the group. as a result, the group becomes more popular/known. he also said that being nice and kind-hearted is more important than anything. and if you can't be nice and kind, you will have no future. sadly, that specific instagram post got deleted. *edit the video is still available. but i can't post the link here 😭
It's good for the girls to hear that. They always complained about the dormitories and the food. Worse they spoke out loud when Tao spoke! When I hear tao speak I was really sad for him🥲 (sorry for bad English)
Kpop stans nowadays think coming from Big agencies are all flowers and roses, claiming the underdogs, rags to riches stories but all kpop groups trained hard and struggle whether coming from small or big agencies. In my opinion I think its a lot more pressure coming from big agencies bcoz of higher expectation plus they dont have freedom to express their artistry especially those from 1st to 3rd gen unlike nowadays where artist can participate in making their songs.
I honestly think my favorite part about this, is that yes, he's very frustrated and angry with them (rightfully so), but instead of continuing to yell, he excuses himself for a moment to gather his emotions. Then he comes back, still very frustrated, but with a much more disappointed approach instead of angry. Calm disappointment usually makes lessons stick better than just straight up yelling, and he really REALLY wanted to get this point across effectively. He's so understanding too, in the sense that, he knows they're still young and learning, but they HAVE to LEARN. And that yelling might just make them block out what he's saying out of fear. He's an incredible mentor.
Wow..this young man speaks from experience..he may left the group due to his fathers plea but he loves his teammates his group for a long time…I sure do hope one day can all get together for old time sake’s performance…
Been with EXO since 2012... we know how it was.... getting paid in rice... leaving your home, country, learn another language.... and that's not the least bit of a problem... training non-stop, without rest, without eating... constant stress and pressure to do better..... people judging them to be SM's biggest failure, taunting them for unique concept..... it was a journey of blood, sweat, tears, loyalty, shear hard work, brotherhood, trust, love...... every moment with them has been a blessing, my fortune.. my inspiration..... 😍😍😍😍🥰🥰😭😭😭😭😭❤❤❤❤❤❤❣❣ #EXOOT12 #WEAREONE #EXO #EXO_TAO
Knowing everything he has gone through even before being a trainee, you have so much respect for him. He is an emotional person, you can tell by the way he speaks. I hope he looks back on his days in EXO as positive ones. He was and still is my bais.
What he said was right. Hope the girls followed his advice. Where he said he didn't fight or get jealous when other members got more screen time cause they can help the group be known it touched my heart ❤️💜💗
the old group really had a hard time in every aspect, they worked hard, they faced so many problems like this 😭 and new generation idols are so lucky to get everything so they don't value it that much but anyway they'll learn eventually. Teamwork is their strength and they need to understand it.
They really deserve that if they really want to debut they have to show kindness respect and take care of each other if those people can’t do that they shouldn’t debut at all
Woahhh this... I'm not an exol. I listen to their songs. I like them but didnt stan them. I know current members of Exo. So I don't know much about him. I saw one of his cdrama recently. but he got my respect bro. he spoke the truth. the way he respects his fellow members. he loves his team. protect this guy...he is kind...
I just know it that exo during trainee days, years are painful.. Tao said they Cound even have food 😢😢😢... THAT I JUST underwhy that days Lay almost left as trainee and xiumin hold him back... They have small room, and dirty toilet,... 😥😥😥😥😥..his voice tremble when scolding the girls .. EXO real life story before they gained fame was really shed tears and painful.. Tao... EXO L still loves you, Loves you as before ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I respect him so much for that not letting it slide even though they were recording he wasn’t scared to speak for what a group should be and I think all those girls now have a new perspective of things thanks to that
That was so powerful and so beautifully said! Sometimes when you get giving luxury straight away you don’t realise the small things you are taking for guaranteed.
miss you Tao, I wish you were back with EXO ...better yet I wish you and the other Chinese members would have been treated better by the company, because you all took part in the success of EXO ...
His lines, that we should always remember when we're WRONG . The people who are here like them they SHOULD learn this! . This is a life lesson Like I'll give u my example, that I experienced..... I was in 3rd grade , there was a girl and she was also my friend One day there was P.T class we all came out , we all do racing when my and her and some more students turn came And I was the 1st and she was 3rd when she reach at racing line she fell so hard on her left arm . She had a fracture on her left arm . At that time the whole class daily give her creative card including me ofc....to cheer her up...
Tao Hyung really is a role model The way he took care of that trainee when she was hurt and scold other traniees for not looking after her how much he talked about exo said i never complained and were never envy of them and never hated them shows how he loves EXO and EXOL he only left because of sm but if sm would have been nicer he would have stayed he dint hate Exo and Exols he hated sm. Love you Tao Hyung💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 Love you Exo Hyungs💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 Love you Exo 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 1:55
I almost started to cry because of his story man! And I thought it was just a common then to help people up when they fall. Like it’s natural to hold doors open and just help someone. That’s crazy how just a few came.
"You're a group if one person make mistake everyone will be punished" somehow i still felt like he left because of guilt, coz he's so injured that time that he thought it's making it worse for the whole group. Since they (staffs/management) are not doing anything for him to get well sooner. It is also shown in their concert where Tao's last concert with his mem. that he shows love to his members and even hild his hand with a sign og EXO-L.. and his members also are hurt but are ready to let him go, why? because they know and understand his reasons. But as what we say "we don't know what truly happened at that time" so we can't say more about it.. But i am happy as long as they are all happy and healthy
He’s right though How are there that many girls in this one group and not one even asked if she was okay or worried like that’s kind of incredible, I’d be pissed too.
Wow stans nowadays fight for screen time + lines and see how groups see it. As a group, it's more important to move together with each others than stepping on each other to move forward.
I cant believe this needed to be pointed out to these girls! What about human nature? Caring for each other should come naturally? I am glad he forcefully pointed this out!
