Mounting TV on concrete wall? Which anchors or screws to use? In this TV mounting video, I will show you some options for concrete screws for your TV mount, including Tapcon concrete screws. You can use Tapcon concrete screws in cinder block, concrete, stone, hollow block, brick, plaster over brick, and plaster over concrete to mount a TV. I don't often comment on videos, but this video was extremely helpful to understand the difference between anchors and concrete screws! Thank you!

Thanks for the video! Doing my first TV Mount for an 85in TV against a concrete wall with drywall/furring strip. Question for you.. I measured with a bit that its 1.5" to the concrete. I believe the 'face' of the block is 1.25in normally. Would it be best to then use 2.5" tapcons (1.5" gap and 1" into block), using the alum spacers you mentioned, or is it okay to get longer, say 3 or 3.5" and then have the tapcon go into the hollow portion of the block? Also I know you mentioned not going into the furring strip but can it be done or is the alum spacer a better method? I assume in my case I would need a 1.5" spacer and not the 3/4" you mentioned? Thanks!

Actually I am not even seeing 2.5in length 1/4in ones, only 2.25in or 2.75in. Hmmm

There is no harm in going into the hollow portion of the hollow block, as long as there is at least an inch of threads in the concrete, so I would say get the longer screws. If you have a "one stud" mount that has vertical holes or a mount that spans between two furring strips, I don't see why you can't go directly over the strips if you don't want to use spacers, as long as you are getting the concrete screws into the concrete and no relying on the furring strip holding up the TV mount.
