Tara Brach: Rewiring for Happiness and Freedom, Part I (2018-10-03)
The Buddha said, “I would not be teaching this (a path of awakening) if genuine happiness and freedom were not possible.” While this is our potential, we each have deep conditioning to get stuck in feelings of fear, deficiency and separation from others. These talks explore the two interdependent pathways of undoing the conditioning that blocks our potential. In Part I we will look at how we can intentionally arouse states of wellbeing, and with practice, develop them into ongoing traits that bring presence and joy to our lives. In Part II, we will investigate how to cultivate an unconditional presence, and the radical acceptance and love, that are the grounds of true happiness and inner freedom.

Dear Tara ! I only found this specific teaching right now some 50 minutes ago while trying to find peace of mind during the Corona. Being not allowed to meet anyone I love or being with anyone socially for now almost three months, stress has taken over in me. Thank Yoy for Your kind and loving way of teaching. I have been trying to practise thankfulness, but forgot to do it everey day. Now I see the very importance of it. I'd like to die, nowing that I appreciated every moment being precent, no matter how much pain or trouble. Namaste. Kind regards from Annabella in Denmark🌹

I am always amazed at synchronicity when it happens in my life, and it actually happens quite often. Just yesterday I was thinking about the same joke Tara opens with. How do I deal with suicidal thoughts and deep regret? I totally regret my divorce and leaving my children behind due to becoming sucked into a real love cult over 10yrs ago. I’ve been plummeting ever since. Deep grief and loneliness haunt me each and everyday. I’m so lost and lonely. 😢😢😢🙏💙
