I attempt to pair my H. pulchripes (Golden Blue Leg Baboon) again! Will she eat this male? Also a second attempt at breeding my H. sp. colombia (Pumpkin Patch). Bonus, I pair my Dolichothele diamantinensis (Brazilian Blue Dwarf Beauty).

the male Harpactira Pulchripes are always super skittish for some reason, I had to leave mine with my female all night and pray he didn't get eaten, i woke up around 10 the next morning and it was still dark in my spider room so I snuck in and caught them in the act, they were both super gentle with one another and when they separated after insertion there was no agression at all from either of them

Poor Chucky😢 he is so scared. At least ha has good survival instincts. That last little dude was so funny. He was not going to give up!

Looks like she wanted to eat him a few times at the end, so glad he was able to pair with her. Such a beautiful species,I love the way he's so enthusiastic.

Had better luck this time Alex! Nice work! Sitting the two enclosures next to each other for a few nights before mating also helps the two spiders to feel that one another is close by helps alot. Also making the pairing happen late late at night

Nope those D. diamantinensis males are speedy little guys. It’s like they like the hard to get ones. 🤣

Sorry about the H pulchripes Alex, that really stinks. Maybe someday. The last lil guy was a funny lil dude and like you said, very persistent, lol. Best wishes for lots of babies. They are so beautiful. Tyfs God bless you

I’ll keep trying with the H. pulchripes. Hopefully he’ll figure it out. Yeah those D. diamantinensis males are persistent. If only I can put a little of that energy into Chucky. 😂

Great video Alex! It's a bummer that the H. pulchripes wasn't brave and persistent enough like the D. diamantinensis little dude haha. Also, how long did that diamantinensis male take to mature?

This little male took about a year and a half to mature. I’ve had them take as long as 2 years to mature.

@@TarantulaHaven wow! I have two sub adults that I suspect to be male. They are 1.5 years old, so I guess they might be getting there soon. Thanks :)

@@arachnodose I’ve read things that have said that males can mature quickly, as soon as 1 year, but I have never experienced that. When I first got mine I had 4 and I thought I had all females because the males didn’t mature in a year but it took about 2 years and then there they were.

Very nice video friend! I love your T-shirt by tge way! I dont know about flaer? But in some species like Haplopelmas, the female collapse when pushed back making the epigastric furrow much larger and Hysterocrates female have a very odd display where she bent her abdomen back/uppwards, probably to make it easier for male to inseminate her. But i dont think this is something the female "contamplates" probably just in the genes? Yes when she strokes her epigastric furrow, its a clear sign of insemination. Haha those male are brave, with those giant venomladed fangs an inch away! Picture yourself courtship a angry women that holding 2 giant daggers unfront of your face!😄
