Just happens to me in Washington state. It’s super embarrassing when you have to tell your kids you don’t have a car anymore and even more degrading when you can’t even take your pregnancy fiancé to her appointment for your unborn child 🤦🏾♂️
That is WHY you NEVER purchase cars from those 'Stand Alone Lots'....OR....'Corner Auto Lots'. Dealerships can be dirty as well but you have a much better chance of getting a real contract with them over these 'Corner Auto Lots'. We bought a couple of brand new cars last year at the local Toyota Dealer. They not only offered their own Toyota Financing they also offered our local Credit Union Financing. Which is what we took. I would of done that on my own but the dealership save me the 'Step' of calling up the Credit Union. The Credit Union had the better rate. (2.24%)
7/23/18.....A few yrs ago GA dealers tried to pull this. People would trade in their old car as down payment for a new car or a used car. The purchaser wiuld sign ALL the paperwork & drive the new car home.....but a week or 10 days later, the dealer would call & say the buyer's credit wasn't good so the buyer was asked to bring the car back & sign NEW loan papers at higher interest rate/longer time. And they would add that the buyer's car had been sold so it was no longer available. Several buyers got lawyers & the car dealers had to pay stiff fines & arrange car loans themselves if banks & credit unions wouldn't make car loans for new buyers.
