It cracks me up the way you interact with your kids. It’s so real and not overly cutesy for the camera. “Why are you looking at me like that?” Is something that I would say to my kids too. 😂

I was shocked at how much I loved the Covergirl Skin Perfecting Essence!! I honestly bought it expecting it not to work with all the reviews I have seen. I pump it on the back of my hand, mix it just a tad, and then apply with a brush. I do find that it builds nicely on itself and gives more coverage when you build. It is meant to be a light coverage product but I can build it to a high light coverage. I am 41 and it sits so beautifully on my skin.

I really like it worked for me as well but you do have to mix it in your hands prior to applying it in your face. It works best

The CoverGirl product is what I've been looking for all my life. 😆 I am 35 years old and have never found I foundation I actually like. They've all been too obvious looking on my dry skin and made it look worse. I love how natural the CG product looks. It's definitely not something people would like if they prefer a medium or full coverage look.

Hey, Emily! I actually LOVE the cover girl essence. It's supposed to be sheer, just to slightly even out the skin on a "no makeup" make up day. It's a dupe for the chanel les beiges and I find the cover girl provides just a little more coverage. I have mature skin and in the summer I look for something lighter like this product. I use it over a tinted sunscreen and it looks fabulous. Love your videos!!

Hi I agree with the other comments about blending with a brush on back of hand first then apply-I’m 57 and love this-gives nice coverage and doesn’t settle into my wrinkles😊

Hi Em, try pumping two pumps of the Cover Girl essence into the palm of your hand, take a foundation brush and buff all the foundation into your hand THEN put it on your face. I hope that helps❣️

This is exactly what I do. I also really buff it into my skin with the brush and then press it down with a damp sponge. I get a good medium coverage that looks like skin. I love it.

I love the CG Essence, but didn't care for the first use of each bottle. The first pump has too much liquid, but after that it is a good ratio. Thanks for the great videos.

That Tanologist sunless tanner is fabulous! It works beautifully without the self tanner smell... it's worth twice the price IMO! The Milani Anti-gravity mascara is my HG, it's all I've used for years now. And I meant to comment on your last video with the Hard Candy Blackout eyeshadow pencil - that's been my HG to use on my upper water line, it's the best I've found. Nothing works on my lower waterline but for the upper? Hard Candy. I thought it would be hard to work with when the point wears down but it's been flat on top for months now which actually makes it easier to apply - the stuff is bulletproof! Your look today really is pretty and soft, great job!!

I kinda stopped watching makeup videos (and even stopped being a makeup artist part time) and got more into my other artistic side (mainly watercolor)/furniture (building and repair). You are the only person I actually still get notifications for when it comes to "beauty". I have no interest in watching anyone else. You have always been my favorite. Emily I bought the Essence out of curiosity and I love it. Rubbing it on the face like a creme or lotion does not work. I do one pump and break the beads before ,between my fingers and PAT IT IN THE skin on side of the face first. You can't rub too hard, that doesnt work . Once it starts to settle a little, just a few seconds, I do the other side of the face and then buff very lightly with a buffing brush , with light pressure, For me, it gave me a flawless no makeup look, evened the skin out. Once it was almost dry, I applied light powder to the T zone. This makeup lasted all day and never creased. You cannot apply a huge dab of formula at once cause it will start rolling. You can dab more formula before it completely dries. Once you get the knack of it, it beat all of my foundations and never creased in the California heat and dry winds, My skin felt moisturized all day and no creasing, You can do another layer. The secret is in how you apply it. I have seen women apply a huge dab of the liquid and rub it all over like sunscreen and it looked horrible. It's all in the unique application technique which no one explained. I just did trial and error

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer SERUM spf 50 is the best I’ve found. Absorbs immediately, super lightweight, perfect under makeup. I’m in Canada, I assume you can get it in the US but I never hear anyone talking about it.

I guess I just don’t really like “gradual” tanners bc they still make you smell like fake tan as they process, I just wanna get all that over with with one big drastic stinky night per week 😂 I wish they could get rid of that. Plus I just don’t feel like doing the full body application and letting it dry before clothes and etc. being anything other than the color of paper is hard work 😭

I use the Brightening one from Tanologist and don't get any smell from it. It's a thin lotion, so if you want to apply another scented lotion after it develops, you can!

I remember Risa does makeup recommended that WnW primer for your undereye, to hydrate the area before concealer. And it looked flawless (she, in turn, heard it from another influencer).

You are so lucky you are able to pull off alot of drugstore complexion products. My skin just is so dry and olive it can't without looking craggly and or dull. But it is fun to watch you enjoy them and make them work. You can make a drugstore eyelook look expensive, too. I learned a lot from you, and I am able to do this as well now. :)

I love tanologist products, I have the spray face tanner and the gradual tanner and it’s amazing. The color is great not orange and the face tanner is a easy spray and I just work it in with a buffing brush and the spray is great for the neck and chest too ❤

When I tried that foundation I ended up having to pump it out on a palette and rub it in with my finger until it all turned into what looked like actual foundation and then apply it with a brush and it looked beautiful. I do have oily skin though so it didn’t last long at all. Someone with very dry skin would love it though if they like light coverage.

I use tanologist lotion and really like it. Although the light to med works better for light skin tones as far as wear goes. The darker one has quicker results but will turn patchy on light skin after a couple days.

So I think the cover girl foundation thing will work better with less primer/ moisturizer . I’d pump some out on the back of my hand and mix it up with the back of a brush. Some people like how it looks using a sponge but personally I think that would sheer it out even more. I think you’re right … fingers and brush might be the best. Also using a bit more of the product for a fuller coverage. But it didn’t look too bad !

The Cover Girl product you reviewed is supposedly comparable to Chanel's Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint, Emily. There's also a Rose Inc product that's similar, I've heard. I haven't tried any of those, though.

That Covergirl stuff is great! I apply onto a brush, then dab all over then brush on. It has more coverage that way and settles into the skin so nicely. Try it again!

I enjoyed the vanicream sunscreen. I found it very moisturizing, it never irritated my skin or broke me out. That being said, it did leave a white cast. But I thought it played well under makeup.

I have 2 shades of the covergirl. I had to figure it out and i did. I put 2 pumps(one of each) break up the beads and i get great light coverage. Im in-between medium and tan. Oh yeah i bought mine at HEB for 3.99. I get new drops at a reduced price. Your daughter is adorable!

Awww I was hoping you would wear the essence and give us an update because your skin looked so good natural fresh, but almost like that jello skin that is super sheer but perfected skin. I wish sometimes you could see what we see when it comes to the coverage and how pretty it looked on you.

To get the most coverage pump on the back of you hand and use a brush to apply. Has good coverage and feels like nothing on the skins. Love this foundation/essence

I’ve heard to really warm up the essence foundation thing lol in between your hands really good before applying. I have the product just haven’t tested it yet. Thought I would mention incase you wanna try that way too ❤

Please try the new NYX primer with Sunscreen. I think it's a brilliant idea!!! I'd always wear primer but not often wear a sunscreen and this combines both so I'll get both and don't have to second guess anymore. I just ordered, Emily please try it!!!

I was curious to know what gradual tanner you were using! Your tan looks very natural. I still use Jergens gradual tanner and fast tanner. I always want to try new gradual tanners but am hesitant so thanks for the share!!

I'm soooo glad you reviewed this CoverGirl! Im someone who fortunately doesn't need much coverage & thank goodness because I lean dry & live in central Florida. For me even the L'Oreal nude is practically full coverage for me but I still don't think that CoverGirl will be my friend, I'm not sure..... Maybe for my forehead which has wrinkles....

I actually wear this CoverGirl essence as an actual primer underneath a tinted CC or a BB cream, or a thicker tinted sunscreen. On its own it really doesn’t do anything.

I use the Tanologist Brightening and it's really good! I get color after the first use, and no self tan smell. The watery thin formula makes it so easy to use! I wonder if they're all like that? 🤔

I feel like the skin perfecting claim comes from the use of Tranexamic Acid perfecting the skin over time. Not necessarily a coverage product but more of a skin care product with a slight tint. I love this kind of product for hot summer days around the house.

Have you tried the L’Oreal Panorama mascara? I get a similar effect (big, big lashes!) as the Milani Anti-Gravity, but it’s a sort of tubing-like mascara. I can even wear it on my lowers. Both of these mascaras are my top tier. I always use my Jane Iredale Lash conditioner under all my mascaras, though, every single day. I’m loyal to it like you’re loyal to Milani eye primer. 😉
