I've caught 8lb bonefish on fly, 40lb amber jack, massive sharks and everything in-between but nothing compares to coming home and catching my favorite fish on the planet

I'm in NoVA now, but my family is all from MD - I grew up on the Chesapeake, Potomac and Occoquan in the 90's.. Every single warm holiday or birthday or any family get together we had at least a bushel of blue crab from a small shop on the Chesapeake. My Grandad, Pap, lived maybe 100yds from Breezy Point Beach - I was very lucky to spend so much time out there at a young age. Both my granddads were watermen and pillars of their communities. I miss them a lot and I think they'd be right along side you in this fight to "honor" the land we live on and fight to protect it from further destruction and pollution caused entirely by irresponsible land development practices - financial gain has been put above habitat health for far too long - I can't take "global climate" activists seriously when the real issue can be solved far more easily than stopping our use of fossil-fuels.. I took all of this for granted - I'm getting older now and, as more and more of my home town is developed into rental or commercial property, I'm realizing I need to get proactive, if I want younger generations to enjoy the same wild lands and wildlife that helped shape my view of the world.. I think separating us from our connection to the natural world and our history is how the wealthy/powerful manipulate the common American Citizen into surrendering their Individual Liberty for temporary comfort, or perceived-security. Being in nature reminds us that our human problems are not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.. Human existence is just a drop in the bucket of time.
