Gave me Rebels vibes instead. Basically the exact same thing happens with Thrawn's Tie Defender project funds/resources being dissolved into Project Stardust. Tarkin really doesn't like other projects. Edit: Also, "Rouge" is pronounced "rooj" and is a pinkish-red colour. You guys mean "Rogue". Edit II: Unless of course, you guys are talking about something else, a Rouge One that's entirely separate from the movie we know as Rogue One, in which case you should keep saying Rouge One because it is in fact related to the colour rouge and nothing to do with the squad who stole the Death Star plans.
It looks like the same model, but slightly simplified for the Clone Wars animation style, since there's less greebles and panel lines. But still a beautiful model.
Honestly, this fleet combination would be amazing in a major battle. The Imperial I provides the bulk of firepower while the Venators can enhance said firepower AND launch their larger fighter complements. Shame they retired them.
It is a shame they retired them, but they inspired hope in the time of the Republic and the Tarkin doctrine of using fear to keep the systems in line didn't work with the Venators.
@@megabyte1778 It inspired hope mostly on republic planets. Using them in the outer rim and former separatist systems would'nt be a bad idea if he wanted to spread fear.
Venator and tector would be cooler. Empire's never going to use vendors with imperial variants since they have to be incompetent to make the rebels look good for plot reasons.
Palpatine wanted to get rid of ANYTHING resembling the old Republic; including old ships and tech they used. It's worse considering Venators have Class 1 hyperdrives and could keep up with starfighters. They sacrificed ships and vehicles that were powerful and had versatility for sheer size and firepower. A massive mistake on their end.
I love how "Project Stardust" is always present in the background of every show. For over 20 years something was in the works and we as the viewer know what's coming and yet we can only feel anxiety and fear from the mystery of the project. Andor's reveal was something of a nightmare, we know it's coming and yet we can't help be feel helpless. The mention of it through BB, CW, and Rebels is something that we can all appreciate and yet dread when it gets here.
@@coruscant100 I doubt they will fully abandon it. I think they will just keep it for storage. Not like the Empire to abandon worlds for the sake of it. Plus, I got a feeling Palpatine can/will overrule Tarkin if he wants to. Given that Tantiss is just a mountain on the planet (the planet itself being called Weyland) I don't see the Empire fully abandoning it.

Tantis is damaged but not destroyed. An imperial remnant (probably one factions of the shadow councils) can reclaim this base and relaunch project necromancer.

Actually Tarkin was skeptical about the Death Star up until it was finally tested on Jedha city, He even planned to have the TIE defender program have its funding secured and taken away from project stardust that is until Governor Pryce foolishly blew up the fuel depot
It feels like Tarkin was still sore he knew nothing about this particular operation. I guess Project Necromancer stayed dormant until after the Death Star (and Tarkin) blew up.
I reckon a few years later grand admiral thrawn will probably find this abandoned base after returning from his exile after the ahsoka series and probably try and finish what dr hemlock started

I get easily upset at complaints said by Star Wars fans because most of the time not all but most of the time it’s people complaining at things because it was not 100% accurate and not how they wanted it exactly and then shit on Disney which is like yeah Disney is a greedy multimillion dollar company and they ruined the sequels. But they also done some good things we got the mandalorian we got Hayden and ewan to return we got clone wars season 7 we got to see animated characters back in live action we got good darth vader comics we got rouge one and andor but nope people only look for the bad and complain at little things like captain Rex armor in his life action cameo for being inaccurate for a 10 second appearance
Seeing the Imperial Star Destroyer arrival along with two Imperial Venator on both side is the absolute coolest thing I ever seen. and honestly I would consider that a great tactic for a fleet, Imperial Star Destroyer are very strong and tough ships, and Venators are strong but not tough but they can carry a lot more ships and different types than Star destroyer. I know why the Empire got rid if them but Venators can be the heavy Carriers that deploy waves of ships like Ties fighters from behind and Star destroyer the muscle at the front lines. That my opinion
It feels like the near completion of an era. Hemlock is gone, the star destroyers are phasing out the venators and the transition to the main dark times is complete. So foreboding.
This is what imperial fleets should have looked like, the imperial class star destroyers (battleships essentially) to protect the venators (carriers) should battles get too close, and the venators and it's fighters to protect the star destroyer from long range
When I saw Tarkin's ISD I was REALLY hoping we'd see some TIE Fighters instead of V-wings. But finally seeing an ISD in Clone Wars animation is good enough for me
maybe, but remember that Imperial Star Destroyers are an upgrade of the Imperator Star Destroyer, which came into service in the last months of the Clone Wars
Vader theme starts at 0:48... I see this as a nod to the fact that Vader's position is now secured. The Emperor was always trying to replace him and if this cloning project worked, Vader could have been replaced. Maybe it was just a nod to the Death Star and Rogue One/ A New Hope (or maybe even Tales of The Empire coming up - "The Era of Vader has begun" type thing), but I think it was more about what this destruction on Tantis meant for Vader.
I mean I think it’s pretty clear the project necromancer was the first attempt to make clones for palpatine i think vader death theme is more of telling the viewer that this really is end the of the clones now really since scorch and the assassins are dead and this is were palpatine focus changes from project necromancer and now to project star dust and the start of tarkins incompetence in the project also probably the fact that there is very little left of the republic left with the imperial star destroyer there
I assume this was kept as a secret? Otherwise Palpatine would of went to Tarkin and tell him NO to the extraction of the funding and hire the next scientist to replace Hemlock!
Hemlock and Lama Se are gone, and as far as the Emperor knows they were the only ones who knew the intricacies of Project Necromancer. Without them, there’s no one else who would even know where to start. As we know, Palpatine does continue the research, but clearly it’s not perfect as evident in TROS.
I think you are forgetting that the lab was destroyed with all the data on Project Necromancer. Even if Palpatine wanted to continue he couldn’t since the last Kaminoan expert on cloning was killed along with the escape of all the clone test subjects. For Palpatine it would make sense to allow the funds to be diverted to Stardust as that project would be completed in a few years whilst Necromancer has been set back decades due to the loss of data.
I like how when the V-wings fly over Tarkin in the hangar, they don't make V-wing noises. They sound like TIEs. The last acts of the Clone Army are over, and the age of the Stormtrooper has begun completely.
There's a delicious layer of irony to Tarkin redirecting funds from Necromancer to Stardust. Ultimately, Tarkin's Stardust would suffer the same fate as Hemlock's Necromancer: a lot of time, credits & resources pissed away only to get blown sky high by a kid, and Palpatine had start the whole thing again from scratch (and then it STILL failed!).
It’s kind of neat to see the Venators and the Imperial Star Destroyers together. I also kind of wish they would have shown some actual stormtrooper armor and Tie Fighters instead of ending the series with TK-troopers and V-Wings, but that’s just me. I still loved the episode though. Again, I am not complaining, I am just saying that I wish we could have seen those things to help complete the transition from the Republic to the Empire.
Executrix came off of the line in the Clone Wars as an Imperator class Star Destroyer, and was later upgraded into an Imperial I. I believe this is the Executrix
As we know, the destruction of Tantiss did not stop Project Necromancer. It only stalled it and set it back decades. Essentially, the Bad Batch only prolonged the inevitable.
In another depressing timeline the Batch is a few seconds too late and instead of growing old and happy on Pabu they get captured and are forced to live miserable lives in service of the empire until death

I know it would have been tons of resources but there's more than one mountain base there where Hemlock or whoever before him could have thought lets build a second facility or backup just in case especially if the Emperor had great need of the stuff going on there.
So this is the end of the First Year after Episode 3, and the first Imperial 1-Class Star Destroyers begin to slowly deploy. so i assume by beginning of fallen order, which is 2 years later most Venator's at that point would've been Decommissioned as production of the destroyer class reaches mass.
Funny, that no one came up with the idea to check the Emperor's clone vault and the Emperor allows Tarkin to completely abandon the project. Did the clone commandos guarding the vault sleep throughout the battle, or were they defeated by exhausted clone prisoners?
An ISD being escorted by two RSDs is beautiful. However, this doesn't make any sense. RSDs were the main destroyers of the Empire for *years.* No way an ISD is already on the line. The empire phasing out everything from the Republic in this show happened *way* too fast.
We didn't even get a appearance of the Victory class star destroyer either, always the star destroyer that is relegated to games and reference books but never makes a single appearance in anything beyond a brief novel mention and bad comic art.
In Vader comics on the Mon Cala invasion we see Tarkin with three ISD, and that comic is set 2 years before Revenge Of The Sith so it's makes sense to see them here, al least in canon.
The Imperial I Star Destroyer is an upgraded version of the Imperator class Star Destroyer, which served in the Clone Wars, alongside the Victory I Star Destroyer
This is exactly why we never got to see Vader in the show. Tarkin never wanted Hemlock's project to succeed so he never supplied him with the resources to (aka Vader). If Hemlock had Vader protecting him then there's no way the Bad Batch could've assaulted the base.
Bad final. To many questions. Whats with rex ? Wheres Cody ? Whats with Woolfe ? What is the secret operation tarkin talked about in the end ? We need to get Rex's own Show.
