Thanks so much for this review. I decided to give this deck a chance based on your original video on it. I was hoping to like it but was quickly astounded by how much I love it. After only two months it already feels like an old friend. I reach for it most of the time and feel so comfortable working with it for all kinds of questions. I’m about to order the new version for a back up that I use to read for others. I’ve been pairing it with the Shamanic Oracle and love how they look and talk together. 🙏🏼🕸✨

I love the original orange borders but I’m sad to say I returned that version due to quality of the card stock. I’m in love with the images but as a reader and collector I look for a deck I can shuffle easily without fear of tearing or bending the corners. The 1st edition (now out of print and a lot more costly) was not worth the price of $110 solely due to paper stock issues. As I am not ready to give up on these gorgeous images yet, I ordered and am excited to receive and try the 3rd edition after watching this review. Thank you.

Wow, this is my first look at this deck. It’s beautiful! Loving the borderless. And love the Fool and Star cards. And The Hermit. Oh my, this has gone to the top of my wish list. :)

Ohh! It looks like a different deck!! However I don't think I can ever separate it from its orange borders, even if I'm not huge on borders overall. I do like the new box though. Very interesting, thank you!!

A Saturday video!! The borderless version is wonderful. I really like it without the orange borders. It seems less "Halloweeny". I don't own this deck cause I'm a weirdo and decks with modern imagery AND ancient imagery bug me. Individually I like the art, but as a deck I find it inconsistant....at least in my mind....LOL

Unlike what you said, what I am seeing is that the cropping of the actual image is tighter in the borderless and so you actually lose a bit around the edges of the image... this is one of the few decks I prefer with the border....But I like the back without the border. But either way, striking and evocative... Scary to think that there are people are getting out of school these days without knowing their roman numerals.

I love this deck! I feel so connected with the imagery. It reads so well, and it is also one of my main decks. I have the first edition and for me, the borders make a part of the whole image. The borderless edition is on its way to me and I am curious about the changes.

Been waiting for this side-by-side review of a deck I know is one of your favorites. So funny, I have the original deck and always intended to trim it. When I saw the borderless version I jumped on it! But as I went through it and laid out the cards, I thought....wait! Some of these images really do look best with a border! So now I'm thinking I may try to color the orange borders black. Any advice on that? Thanks!

I haven't ever colored in a border like that (I'm more prone to taking them off lol) but I have heard some people use Sharpie for this (although I think that has a tendency to fade.) UGH! SO DISAPPOINTED! I generally prefer borderless versions of most decks, but this one just doesn't do it for me... Despite the weird orange borders on the original deck, the fact that the original colors were all slightly desaturated made the imagery flow together beautifully and harmoniously with those orange borders. This new borderless version has garishly oversaturated colors, making it hurt to look at the images. The advantage of slightly larger images making the details easier to pick out gets vitiated by the enhanced garishness. And the choice of solid black title borders at the bottom is a dud; it makes the titles stick out too intrusively so it makes looking at the images even harder. And I LOVE THESE IMAGES!!! But they are actually harmed by this new format. I will keep and treasure my original version in all its gentler glory.
