Super Tempo is the 3rd and last game in the Tempo franchise released only in Japan on the Sega Saturn. It is a direct sequel to the 32X game ( tasvideos.org/... ), but is far more zany than the previous game.
Watch as adelikat ( tasvideos.org/... ) runs, jumps, swims, glides, flies and out muscles his competition to finish the game in record time.

Man. Kinda wish they'd redone Tempo and Katy's dance for this game. It's really obvious that it came from the 32X title and while it's still cute, it could have done with some intermediate frames of animation. That aside, it's nice to see this under-appreciated sequel get some TAS love~

Cuphead's appeal was more about nostalgia than originality. A platformer with highly detailed graphics was not as attention-grabbing in the 90s since improving the quality of the 2D sprites was how games compensated for a lack of 3D graphics.

So the 32X version was released just ahead of the first Rayman (the 2D platformer one). This title looks a LOT like that first Rayman

Likely because of how Tempo and Tempo Jr. performed in the western markets, alongside the sales of the 32x itself, and the fact that this game released in Japan in 1998, when the Saturn's US lifespan was only a couple months away from reaching its end.

It was released in 1998. By then a lot of International retailers gave up on the Saturn. There was also concern that some of its content wasn't appropriate for children, that it wasn't worth the effort to censor/localize, and wouldn't sell well even if marketed to teens/adults who've come to expect a bit more than what's shown here from a T/M Rated game even in the 90s.

Y'know, it took me really long to notice that, unlike the other two Tempo games (yes, even Tempo Jr., that f**king abomination), this game's plot actually makes no sense whatsoever, regardless of whether or not you're familiar with the Japanese language. Like, in general, this game's plot is just insanely wacky. Still a pretty cool game though, and has some pretty nice tracks! Also a cool TAS!

Something about the endings that i never seen before is the worst ending is being rich and the possibility best ending is being a god. Other endings vary but i know there is an ending where both characters are talking naked baths barely covering themselves. Quite shocking for me to see, but i do like the rich ending.
