Tool-Assisted Speedrun for Wii Play Tanks. (A lot of desyncs prevented from making precise control. Sorry for that.) I made this as something like a testrun. Rerecord count: unknown Desync: 0.5~2 per 1 stage
FyZ Is this a troll or some shit, lol. If it isn’t, I might as well just explain what they mean. TAS is used in the title of the video and well as being described in the description of the video. It is an abbreviation for “Tool Assisted Speedrun”, which means the speedrun is helped by tools outside of the normal game, such as specialized maneuvering that makes certain things faster that wouldn’t be as easy to perform with typical human reaction time and aim. Now aimbot is similar and in some cases part of the same thing, but it specifically means a bot that allows for perfect aim. Saying all this however, these are basic terms that you learn pretty quick in most genres, especially any shooter game, and the entire comment itself is more of an exaggeration than anything, but this is still knowledge information.
I watched a video about the music system of this game and how different tanks add more instruments or change existing ones, it´s amazing how you can hear the difference. Yes. Scruffy, I should have put his name in the original comment, sorry about that.
I wish there was a 2 player TAS of wii tanks, though I think tool assisted superplays with personality would be better than speedruns just imagine the cool things you can do you could have the two player tanks shooting past each other to defeat enemies
TASes are Tool Assisted Speedruns, like maybe slowing down the game or using lots of saves, but it's not an "it", there is still a very much human player
N-NANI!? THEY BOTH MISSED!?!? No... something else is going on here... Ah... he's advancing on purple-tank-chan! This is bad... if he closes the distance any more, I'll be at a disadvantage... MASAKA!?!?!?!?! PURPLE TANK, WATCH OUT! HE'S DEFLECTING THE BULLETS! Such speed... heh, looks like I underestimated you...
I remember as a kid when I finally got to level 20 and I thought it was one of those creative credits thing because tanks is the last game to beat and you don't understand how devastated I was when I realized what had happened
5:32 is the part in the movie where the main character learned all the secrets of the universe and can now block every ultra-quick attack the opponent throws at them. Edit: 0:51 is the ultimate sharpshooter.
Ok, when I was a kid I wanted to beat this, but the furthest I got was level 14 where I got killed by the final green tank sniping me. I thought for sure 15 would be the last level. Jesus christ, I never woulda finished this... 20!? By the way, to anyone who hasn't played this before, unless I *REALLY* sucked as a kid this TAS makes it seem way easier than it actually is. Not only is your movement sluggish and a little awkward, so you can't really dodge, but if you don't snipe tanks before they see you or shoot back things get outa hand. Sure, given enough distance you can dodge one bullet, but what about 2 when one bounces off the wall behind you and hits at a different angle? You gotta quickly point your remote at the bullet and hit it dead-on with one of your own while dodging the other... and if you see green tanks, their shots cannot be dodged without *LOTS* of space between you and them, so if you ever approach one you must be constantly ready to cancel out its rockets. I'm really surprised this TAS didn't use mines to blow up walls so you can surprise the enemies and kill them before they can react like I used to, but I suppose the mines overall kinda suck, which is why they weren't even used... Honestly, I have no idea why the yellow tanks are introduced after the green ones... I'd consider them the easiest of all to deal with, but I'd consider the greens the 2nd hardest only to the white "boss" tanks.
Oh boy, you only got a tiny bit of it After you beat 20 levels, you unlock super-hard mode where there are 100 LEVELS Every 5 or 10 levels or so after that introduces stages that are completely messed up and absolutely brutal, and at level 50, you get the extreme, REAL boss - the black tank. You'll be spending like 20 minutes trying to kill a black tank because it's always shying away from you when you approach it, and it's lightning fast, AND IT SHOOTS ROCKETS LIKE A FRIGGIN GATLING GUN. Thank god you didn't continue after that
"TAS" isn't a person, it stands for"Tool Assisted Speedrun." This is a video of somebody using program (possibly an emulator) to give "perfect" inputs on every frame. This is explains their ungodly reaction speed at 0:53
Holy shit this is a blast form the past! I used to play this all the time as a kid. I remember being in the hospital bed and my parents brought over the wii and me and the patient next to me would be playing all day. I don’t remember his name, I don’t even think I asked. We just had fun playing all day forgetting about our issues.
RU-vid really recommending the weirdest stuff after watching one video… I watch ONE thing on the music of this game and here I am on a ancient tas video of Wii tanks
@@tsonava4223 No, the rng would be the same each time because it's sudo-random, so same conditions on the frame of entry means that its same rng, you could even probably figure out what refreshes the seed and seed you need to get to get the best possible level each time. I also scared myself because I had this video in my recommended again a year later. Also, I've since learned how Wii Tanks proceeds to level 100 and the stupidy of not being able to beat the game first time through. Not from this comment, but thank you guys anyway.
That’s pretty good. I have a different strategy though. I get angry and throw the Wii mote at the TV. The enemy tanks disappear and I claim it as a win!
I only saw the yellow tanks in, like, two of my attempts at this. Never knew there were so many other tanks, those purple ones look absolutely evil, and the white ones basically invisible purples (but only two in the entire game, both on the last level).
After beating level 20 for the first time, the game automatically does end. If you beat it again, you’ll move on till you either lose, or complete the 100th level. Throughout the 80 secret levels, many annoying invisible tanks can be found. However, the 100th stage is only reachable in solo. In co op it will always end at 20 unfortunately.
Has anyone noticed since watching that "how music in wii tanks works" video, wii tanks sort of had a resurgent renaissance? now all these old ass videos are popping into the recommendations, and new videos like that "wii tanks but its anime girls" are being made...
This was my childhood, thank you so much for uploading this. I ended up never beating it as a kid, even with someone playing with me, and I never looked it up after all this time. It’s so cool to see it be won.
