Always a good day when Nakia pops up in my notifications. 5 nights sound so good. I will be checking that out from my library. Hope you are doing well! Great video as always. And your coffee looks so good. Any chance you will be doing 1 Star of the best and 5 stars of the worst again? Those were so entertaining.
Aww thank you so much, Tammie! I appreciate it. 🙏🏾😊 I've actually been trying to work on a new Reading 1 Star Reviews For My Favorite Books video but haven't been able to squeeze it in yet. Now that you've asked about it I definitely need to get on it. 😁
I love Janice Hallett! I read The Appeal and then binged all of her books right after in early January. I would recommend the audiobooks if you are into audiobooks and have them available. They are all multi narrators so the ended up being very engaging.
Loving your channel and energy, Nakia! We have similar tastes and love gothic-esque stories with spooky-ish settings, so I think you’d like The London Seance Society by Sarah Penner. The story was very captivating and it really reeled me in from the first page…think I devoured it in a couple of days!
Awww thank you so much @laurakatherine1992 ! Appreciate you! 🤗 I believe I had The London Seance Society on my radar when it came out last year but somehow I guess I forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder! 😊
Hi Nakia! I’ve just joined booktube, I love your content ❤ I love a good thriller book but it has to have a decent plot twist otherwise they are so underwhelming 😢 Love the chilled vibes ❤
My first time here and I love it! I will be adding Alperton Angels to my TBR. I also really like this concept, as it's a quick way to pick your next read without over-thinking things. I also love your shirt, is that Chip and Dale, Rescue Rangers? Song is in my head now. 😅
Aww thank you, Danielle! I hope you, Zack, and baby Maverick have been well. 🙏🏾 And you should definitely do one of these videos. I would love to see it. 😊
Great video! Five Nights and Tainted cup sound good to me! I recently purchased The Alperton Angels because ‘cult’ is a buzzword for me and I will pick any book involving cults so fingers crossed it’s a good one!
Thanks, Ty! Yeah, The Tainted Cup definitely sounds like it's up your alley. Funny how I love cult documentaries but when it comes to books it's hit or miss for me. Hopefully Alperton Angels works for me. 🙈😁
That first sip of coffee ☕️ hits so good! I read First Lie Wins this month and loved it. Gave it a 4.5/5. One similar to it is Listen for the Lie. The audiobook for that one was fantastic.
Yesss, that first sip of coffee. ☕😊 And shhhh 🤫... I'm listening to First Lie Wins currently and actually enjoying the audiobook. Listen for the Lie was not for me though. Couldn't deal with that main character. 🙅🏾♀️
🛳🚢This was so fun to watch! As a fantasy lover, I honestly ignore the map lol. Sometimes fantasy prose is much more approachable that you'd expect! And it looks like the one you have there is very mystery focused. Your reaction to the romance was hilarious 🤣 you would HATE some of the books I've loved.
Hey Rosie! 👋🏾 Thanks for letting me know it's okay to ignore the map. When I open a book and see a map it just reminds me of school. Yuck! 😝 And I'm sure I couldn't deal with some of your favorite romance books. 😄 I've tried and it's just not for me. But happy for those of you who enjoy it. 🙌🏾
🚢 I loved Alperton Angels but the style is not for everyone so looking forward to your thoughts. I have Five Nights to listen to on audio - love a cruise mystery! Fab vid 💜
Thanks so much for the love, Lisa G! Appreciate it! 🤗🚢 And I'm curious to see how I'll like Alperton Angels and Five Nights. They both have me so intrigued. 👀😁
Us Fantasy girls do love a good map! 😌I highly recommend coming back to Nightwatching though. Just read it for book club and I honestly loved it. It takes the first couple of chapters to get into the chaos and really get the feel of our main character. It's a quick read and had me questioning the legetimacy of the characters and the facts of what was happening.
@@DanielReads I don't think it's the best though, I'm just used to it. 😄 Try researching "Best Free Editing Software" and/or just "Best Editing Software". Good luck!
I bought five nights while watching this video because the ebook was only 1.99 😄 I think it's kinda ridiculous that you need that many blurbs! Oh no! I just bought The Framed women...at full price! First Lie Wins actually doesn't have as much romance as you think. It's not my normal thing, but I thought it was pretty good. I enjoy Everyone on This Train is a Suspect. I didn't read the first book and I knew what to expect about breaking the fourth wall from you 😉
Hey $1.99 is a great deal! 🙆🏾♀️ And you might enjoy The Framed Women. It was just too cozy for me. 👀 But I do plan to check out the audiobook for First Lie Wins so we'll see how it goes for me. 🙈😁 And glad I could give you the heads up for Everyone on This Train is a Suspect. 😊 Hopefully I enjoy it too. 🤞🏾
First Lie Wins was our book club pick for March. I gave it a 2.5 and rounded down. There was a 3, a 5, two official dnfs, and two people who aren’t enjoying it but still plan on finishing it…..eventually.
@@NakiasHideaway I’m surprised you haven’t dnf’d it. As for our book club, one person finally finished last week and gave it a 2. She didn’t care about any of the characters. The person who gave it a 3 changed it to a 2 after reading better books that they rated a 3. That leaves the person who suggested the book as the only one still trying to finish it. She said she feels bad and is forcing herself to finish it as punishment for the bad choice.
@@CluelessWonder Hahaha! Wow we're all clearly in the minority because the Goodreads average is over 4.00. 👀 And the only reason I haven't DNF'd it is because I'm listening to it as in audiobook in my car. 🙈😁
Little to no character development in the first chapter usually means everyone is going to die horribly. A book with lots of blurbs is like a guy with a testimonial from his mother on his dating profile....avoid, avoid, avoid. "If you like... then you'll enjoy..." endorsements are such "derivative book- soon to be on the discount rack" warnings. I feel bad for authors who get them. Besides, Richard Osman writes The Thursday Murder Club series. It's brilliant. You have to check it out before Hollywood destroys it in a few months if you haven't already!
I am not a romance fan either. I don't mind a little sprinkle of romance here and there as long as it's not the main genre of the book. I find them boring or unappealing. 🚢
@@NakiasHideaway It's pretty decent! I did laugh though when you described the author's writing style in his previous book though. Looks like it's much the same as this one.😆
