Wow, this content is amazing! I have a personal insight to share about tequila and I would love to hear your thoughts. In the production process of tequila, there is a crucial step called "descabezado" which involves removing components with lower molecular weight, known as "cabezas". This process is essential in giving the tequila its unique profile. Unlike wine, tequila should not be left to breathe or open up, as this would release many of the 1800+ components and alter the intended flavor profile. To test this, you can pour the same tequila into two different cups and try one immediately, then leave the other to "open" before trying it. You'll notice a significant difference in taste that deviates from the master distiller and tequila maker's original vision.

❤This. My wife was embarrassed that I tried to enjoy the nose of a bad tequila. Patron Reposado. Admittedly the nose was amazing. Thanks for showing her I’m not crazy just trying to squeeze some joy out of $23 2oz disappointment were it not for the beautiful sunset and the cinnamon agave nose.

I'm a Philistine--I hate Glencairn/tulip glasses--in my experience they're hard to clean and easy to break. I'm sure I miss things, but I like plain old rocks glasses for whiskey and tequila ;) (No, I don't drink Cuervo gold ;)
