dr.cambell is blessed to have son like his who is so passionate and knows very minute details of his work . i enjoyed seeing this mango party because in india we have fantastic varieties in dozens which have great taste and aroma in my child hood entire summer vacation we used to eat whole day long so much so that at the end of the season we sometimes would have boils on our skin because mangoes are hot in effect .boils would subside immediately when indian monsoon rains started in june 2nd week . used to be great fun .but great fact is you dont enjoy mango one bit the moment monsoon starts and temparature drops .infact in india eating mangoes during monsoon can upset your stomach .of course in north india (lesser rains)there are late varieties coming in monsoon .

Great video Pete! We had a Diamond picked by the right people 😊 and still weren’t fans. We were really expecting all of the online comments to be wrong, but in the end, we had to agree that it had a lot of vegetable flavor to it. It’s great that there is a mango for everyone. I prefer mangos with citrus and coconut tones - I really liked the India mango they have growing - delicious with sweet, spicy flavor. Pina Colada, Coconut Cream, and Peach Cobblers are my overall favorites this year.

Man such a feast!! All the people in comments section saying try this from Philippines or try this from Pakistan ...you guys do realize that he is in homestead Florida mangoes were planted a hundred or so years old. If you want to know about mango come to the Vedic land of India. This is not even dirt under a nail what mangoes taste like 1000s varieties. If you don't smell a mango in your room it's not a mango. And stores one in groceries store have zero smell zero flavored because they have been irradiated and microwaved so there is no complains from people. I still give these dudes an A plus for their effort and genuinely showing everyone.

Hey Pete, you gotta taste the Philippine Carabao Mango at least once in your life. Too bad they don't grow them in Florida. We have regional varieties that are usually just identified by the province they are grown in - no cool marketing names like those in Florida, except for one that I know of. Arguably the best of these local varieties are grown in the provinces of Pangasinan and Zambales. A patented variety from Zambales province is the Sweet Elena (cool name eh?😉). The Sweet Elena actually got into the Guinness World Record back in the 90s as mango with the highest brix! Come to the Philippines and do a Mango tasting vlog here - peak Mango season is between April-June, we have Mango Festivals in Zambales, Manila (Quezon City) as well as Guimaras island. Outside of the peak season Philippine Carabao Mangoes are induced to fruit every month of the year as well, but the sweetest mangoes are in-season mangoes of course, the main season being April-June, but a second season from Aug-Jan as well...and that's practically the whole year right there - Lol! I guess the induced mangoes are only available on February and March, and July...but you don't really want those. 😁 Oh and just as a teaser, here's the flavor profile of the Philippine Carabao Mango: Ideally fiberless, with a sweet fragrance, high flesh to seed ratio, thin skin, a flavor I would describe as honey-lemon or sweet-tart...becoming honey sweet as it approaches over-ripeness. I personally prefer the sweet-tart/honey-lemon stage!😋 Mabuhay from the Philippines, and thanks for your awesome videos!🙏😊🇵🇭

I wish I had access to all the mango varieties in the world. I just got a Mallika at the store, which I’ve never had. It feels ripe but it’s still pretty green so I’m waiting just a little longer. By far the best mangoes I’ve had were in my mother’s home country of Cape Verde, Africa. As we walked around the hills and slopes of her island, we just plucked them from the trees and ate them on the spot, and they were just perfect. That whole trip was amazing but the mangoes were one of my favorite parts. They were just perfect. I’m not sure what variety they were. I could probably look it up.

I've heard that Taiyo no Tamago, or "Egg of the Sun", is one of the sweetest and most expensive mangoes you can buy with money; the most expensive of which are the absolutely unblemished and unflawed ones that are allowed to be sun-bathed from all angles, and are allowed to fall from the tree by themselves... But good luck achieving that on a Florida coast outside of a greenhouse, lol.

Cool tasting, yummy! I am allergic to the sap, no one ever said that I could eat the fruit!?! I cannot eat fresh pineapple, so, I usually skip all the tropical fruits, maybe I can try one? Being in Florida, there are lots of sweet fruits to choose from, thank you for all the fun : )

Thank you for sharing. Attended Matt Reece's tasting this year Wonderful fruit. My question is how do you get ahold of your favorite fruit tree to grow in your orchard. Can't seem to find a Bolt, Karen Michelle or a Sassy Love tree anywhere. I got the OS tree, loved that one too, can't find the others.

Pro tip, move the camera back a little instead of zooming in on your face so close . Your viewers will thank you.

Some years back...the giant purple mangos as big as a papaya grew in the dry zone of Costa Rica....proof there is a heaven on earth.....also the Costa Ricans loved green unripe mangos w/a little salt... I never understood why because gringos would get a poison ivy irritation yet the locals loved them...kind of a walking around snack...I always thought it was some type of anti-parasite food in the rainy season..??

Mangoes are related to poison ivy. Many people are affected by the sap and skin from fresh fruit. If you're allergic to poison ivy I'm sure it's worse.

They craved the green unripe ones...they would get giddy running to the fruit stands to get them when they started showing up at the markets...then commence to bite into the nasty tasting skin..and salt the flesh ....we used to eat green unripe apples but no way the same bitter sappy taste ....I heard terpenes were good dunno if the termpentine taste in these mangoes were similar or not...somebody needs to study that cultural phenomena.

I cut them in half and then scoop them out - much easier to cut - OR - after cutting them nearly in half score the mango and turn it inside out

Had my best mango ever today... unknown variety gifted from moms neighbor. Nice timing for your vid. Only made me a little jealous. New camera or something?

Nothing like a home grown mango! Same camera, dang lens was messing up. Not sure whats up, could have been the low battery.

To me Mangoes are the Best, I see them as combinations of other tropical fruits
