ANAND SINGH Innova has no competition like Maruti Brezza, Alto, Mahindra Bolero but all will not go these vehicles. I like Ford Endeavour 2.2 Titanium with sunroof but was out of my reach. Innova /crysta we use a lot as taxi so was not finding it exciting to go for. Thanks

There are many videos floating for replacing Hexa low beam projector bulbs with LED lights having integrated fan assembly at rear . I want to emphasize that It is not feasible unless you compromise light housing water and dust insulation. However you can get the LED lights installed in High beam of Hexa. But the procedure is very long as bumper needs to be removed for proper locking of LEDs inside the lighting. If you fit LEDs just by removing side cladding inside the mudguard, chances of poor fitting are very high.Thanks

hi sir. I have one question. you must have owned esp provided cars or driven . do you have felt the need for esp and traction control in xta. considering the weight of the vehicle vehicle and considerable body roll. please clarify. I am confused between xuv500 at and tata hexa xta.
@todheeraj
@todheeraj 6 лет назад
Nagaraja Reddy these technologies stabilise the vehicles while they tend to loose traction. And may be useful when you loose steering control. However if you are a sensible driver, you would be comfortable with ABS, EBD which try to maintain traction in case of braking on surfaces where you loose traction. ESP helps you controlling vehicle better especially in Himalayan Car Rally sort of scenario, but still if you see most of these races are safely won without ESP in raw Gypsys. In case of Hexa unless you are racing on a loose surface, you hardly require these technologies. I have driven vehicles on all terrains including on snow studded roads. So it is your driving sense which works better as these technologies are supportive only. If you are thinking of buying a vehicle for ESP then look for a Vehicle with 5star Euro NCAP. Otherwise ABS with EBD,Anti roll bars,6airbags, heavy weight, big body offer you 4star NCAP or so. XUV500 NEW is features laden vehicle but the quality of material used is not so impressive. Better you go with your family, sit in both the cars for 15mins and then test drive both to choose as per your taste... You may go for the vehicle you like as a package but not only for ESP with Automatic. HEXA XT has ESP but manual gearbox is not a good choice in today's overcrowded Road scenario. HEXA XTA has 5 link rigid suspension with anti roll bars at both the ends which is the best part of its suspension to control it's body roll which you can test and experience. So don't worry about body roll hazards at all. Also HEXA XTA is approximately 400kg heavier so chances of it loosing traction are much lesser than XUV, you may look for a video where XUV AWD is loosing control but not Hexa XT4X4, both of these models has ESP and Traction Control . So it is sheer weight and type of surface of tyres which help to grip the surface better and then these technologies support further. You may also check Hexa XTA crossing river video to see it's traction without ESP and TC . Thanks

Sir I want to know that manual gear box version will be good or automatic gear box version for hexa? Also I felt that there is a bit of engine noise which can be heard inside the cabin especially when you throttle up the accelerator in the automatic version...please comment on it!
@todheeraj
@todheeraj 5 лет назад
Go for automatic over manual without even a single thought. Automatic may be more noisy when you accelerate it hard because the logic or programme of this gearbox keeps you in high RPMs, sensing that you need acceleration. This will be the same if you rev up manual version in low gears. This is natural. Once you adapt to automatic, you may switch the gear lever to manual/sports mode, you can use manual mode shifting upwards at desired RPM and contain the engine noise accordingly. Hope it clarifies. You may also read about Automatic gearbox , the make is GM 6L50 to understand it's quality and functionality. It will give you more torque and higher top speed than manual. As steering is bit heavy you can use both hands to manoeuvre it better than Manual. Hope it's fine with you. Thanks

Hi Dheeraj, i bought used xta 2019 model with 30k ran. But iam getting g 8.5 in city, let menknkw how to improve mileage and tips ?
@todheeraj
@todheeraj 2 года назад
There are 3 main points you need to consider while driving 1. Press the accelerator as gently as you can , accelerate in such a manner that you avoid braking as much as possible. 2. You can shift from drive mode to neutral where ever you feel it is safer and you don't need acceleration 3. Use AC judiciously and in Eco mode. Switch off the AC when start moving from still and as soon as you get momentum, switch on the AC However to squeeze out mileage you compromise driving thrill, comfort and safety also so please strike your own balance depending on your requirements. Thanks

Is it worth to spend 3.5 lac more on innova top model or is tata hexa top model sufficient?
@todheeraj
@todheeraj 6 лет назад
Sanjeev Kumar Jaiswal if you have budget you may go for Endeavour 2.2 with Sunroof. In comparison to Innova 2.8, Hexa XTA is much heavier,more comfortable, spacious with much higher ground clearance and better mileage. Innova is for quality and reliability with good resale value but over expensive. Drive all the vehicles including Endeavour 2.2 to decide.Thanks

@todheeraj
@todheeraj 6 лет назад
Sanjeev Kumar Jaiswal.. On highway say Chandigarh Delhi (Karnal bypass) , you will get an average close to 15 km per litre with AC on between 90-100 km. Without Ac in winters you can achieve 16.5. Best Mileage it gives between 80-90 in 6th gear. If you remain close to 90 which is the speed limit and press the accelator gently to reach 90 then you may achieve 16 with AC. With full load AC on at 90 expect 14 kmpl with genle acceleration.

Dheeraj Sharma ty for info sir. Also How does tata hexa xta fare against the new xuv 500 / crysta when it comes to maintenanace service cost extra, as il keep the suv I buy for 7-8 yrs straight will hexa b a good choice or should I extend my budget to go for innova? Your reply shall b appreciable. Regards.
@todheeraj
@todheeraj 6 лет назад
There is hardly any difference as technology is matured for Tata and Mahindra as well. Go for 5 years warranty whichever vehicle you buy then these things will negate automatically. If you like features XUV can be your choice, if you like comfort, size and safety then Hexa; if you want to resale within 2-3 years then Innova. If you want to keep it for 7-8 years then it does not make any difference whether you buy Innova or Hexa ,as spending 3.5 lacs extra would make you loose money on interest part for longer period. Choice is yours..drive vehicle, test it , sit in it and then decide depending on your budget . All vehicles are fantastic in one regard or another.
@todheeraj
@todheeraj 6 лет назад
Sanjeev Kumar Jaiswal also checked new XUV but not as tasteful and lavish as this Hexa is. Go with your family and sit, drive all the cars. You will be clear. After seeing new XUV I will still recommend HEXA XTA even with more confidence.

Hi Dheeraj Sharma, great family and honest review video. congrats & thanks for making this . pl suggest on Hexa XE/ XM/XT (A) with pro n cons. Like Is there any difference among-st different variants when it comes to (1) gear box 6L50 (2) body roll bars (3) engine performance bcoz of same heavy body weight with higher or lower torque (4) or transmission ( manual vs automatic)- only ease or does it affect performance (5) tips on negotiating 5 year extended warranty (6) what are free accessories which can be negotiated.
@todheeraj
@todheeraj 6 лет назад
ashish kumar shahi 1. It's the same gearbox in XMA and XTA. 2. commom across all variants 3 -4 . XE has 320NM torque which is sufficient if you are not into racing. Rest all variants have 400NM which is helpful for very steep roads and mid range pickup between 1700-2700 RPM. Automatic gearbox is very fast to switch gears, it has first 2 gears which are very steep. XTA starts from 2nd gear onwards and hardly uses 1st gear. Also 5th and 6th gear of XTA are overdrive and very tall. So in 5th and 6th gear you get good mileage and good top speed @180kmph in 6th gear. Manual gearbox takes longer time to shift and car becomes sluggish in comparison to Automatic versions. XTA takes 12.28 s from 0-100kmph but XM/XT takes close to 14sec. XT4X4 would be more sluggish but is best for offroading. So depending on your budget and requirements you pick suitable model. 5. Take a budgetary quote for all what you need including 5 years warranty, footmats etc and then start brining the price suitable to you. 6. Atleast footmats but more depending on the variant you choose. Hope I answered your queries.

Well, I have been eating, sleeping and breathing Tata Hexa XTA since last 4 months, since i am also planning to buy one (also took test drive of hexa XTA). I will not waste my time and words here by detailing the good things in Hexa XTA, since the vehicle is very good overall (see detailed and excellent review of Hexa at team-bhp). Surely, few excellent thing about Tata Hexa are: comfortable interiors and seating, excellent in-cabin insulation, excellent gearbox, wonderful JBL speakers, comfortable 3rd row seats (for adults too), etc. But Tata, like typical indian manufacturers, has missed quite a lot of mandatory things in a vehicle which is costs approx. 20 lakhs on-road. Lets come to the bad points. How does anyone explain the following: 1. No in-built GPS:- are we supposed to use google maps on our phones and then mirror the phone onto the in-built infotainment system (what stupid idea). in-built GPS and navigation is standard in any 6 lacs car you buy today. 2. Poor infotainment system (harmon cardon): 5 inches screen system looks very small in car of this size. 7 inches is a standard size even in small hatchbacks. also, the touchscreen is not intuitive and difficult to use (better to use knobs and other non-touch controls). Further, compatibility is only with android phones. we can do absolutely nothing if we are having iphones. why is Tata hell bent on providing this system only. 3. No engine start/stop button:- not even in top variant. XUV 500 (its main competitor) is providing this since last many years. Is tata sleeping? 4. No smart key:- not even in top variant. Tata provides a flip-key, while customers are used to touchless entry and lock in a vehicle of this price range 5. No Electronic stability control (ESP) and traction control system (TCS) in XTA model:- What? is the customer stupid? these things are standard in the market today. why will i spend invest 20 lacs in a vehicle which does not have ESP and TCS. The joke is that ESP and TCS are there in lower spec XT variant wihtout automatic gearbox. 6. Many other things , like:- manual tail-gate closing (no button even in top variant), half driver arm-rest instead of full (very important in long journeys), side mirrors do not fold automatically when the car i switched off and parked. You can enjoy your car buddy, but we are not crazy to overlook the above mentioned points. i have decided not to go for Hexa now (after being smitten by the car, but cant overlook some must-haves in this price range). Also, you will lose a good chunk of your money while resellling as the indian market has given lukewarm response to this car and second hand market for Hexa is not good. XUV500 is steadily selling more than 2500 units evry month, while Hexa is struggling at 1000-1200 units (Innova sales are 5000+ units a month on an average). You are intelligent enough to understand what i am trying to say. Thanks, Konesh Chopra (99220 09320)

Dear Please see my reply against your concerns mentioned in your response above and wishing you all the luck for selecting your new car. I am answering as per your concern number below Your Concern 1 ..My reply >> Dear No need to mirror phones with this screen but directly run google maps on your phone right in front of your eyes with ZAAP holder holding your phone to perfection. In built GPS is good but not as big feature unless you carry your mobile in car which can be positioned better rather than taking your eyes off the road to see the in built screen (also this screen can not match the resolution of latest phones; I believe you must have one). I am used to navigation since 2010 when used separate GPS receiver/maps with my laptop big screen in my SX4 mounted just on the left side of my SX4 so I am well aware of this functionality. Was not that crazy of using big screens in cars and unsafe. Your Concern 2 ..My reply >> Screen is not the only criterion for Music System but are the Bass, Treble and Audio Quality which are among the very best here is Hexa XTA; screens in cars are helpful in 2 ways 1). Navigation 2). Reverse camera view On Navigation I explained in answer against your first concern. Point 2 i.e. Reverse camera: it works well for me as a good aide. Apart from these 2 uses of screens in car I do not think anyone would be interesting watching videos , movies on still cars. Moreover I have been into IT industry so I generally avoid watching screens unless reversing my cars or navigating for which I use my mobile fixed in ZAAP holder in front of my eyes without taking my eyes off the road at any given point of time. This I use quite often and in fact this Rajasthan trip was totally navigated using google maps on my mobile fixed right in front of my eyes over the dashboard in a ZAAP holder. Your concern 3 and 4 ..My reply >>> Engine start/stop push button feature comes with electronic door opening button. I liked and used this feature especially the electronic door opening button in my Ford Ecosprt Titanium Option (diesel) but when my friend bought new Endeavour 3.2 it was missing there. So now make a guess why? So if they can put in Ecosport why it is missing in Endeavour 3.2 4x4. Just think over it and I am sure you would find an expert to answer or believe me that there is risk when you open the bigger size SUV with a single press so in dark parking places intruders may creep in silently sometimes. But still you can look for better answer and share back. This is similar to situation that Toyota does not offer Sun roof as they feel it is unsafe. To overcome this in Tata Hexa XTA you have 2 settings for opening this mammoth i.e. 1. you can unlock all the doors from remote or only the driver’s door just by changing the settings. So this kind of thought process is put in here. your concern 5 ..my reply >>> If they would have put these technologies in XTA it would have crossed 20 lacs and then I may wish for Sunroof which you can add another 2 lacs. So I wished my Hexa XTA with all these features and sunroof but how many of you would have spent 22 lacs ex-showroom or 26 Lacs on road price for this 2850 mm luxury 7 seaters with Tata Brand. Moreover there is technical challenge meting this 6L50 gearbox with ESP/TCS/BA etc as they are 2 different brains as 6L50 uses its own logic to keep the car in right gear as per the acceleration input given. This gearbox was used in Trucks like Colorados, big cars like Cadillacs and 6L45 the smaller version was used in BMW X3s successfully. So if you need this kind of an automatic gearbox in your car you need to bear without these features as it is not a 4X4 where you would doing this vehicles to limits all the time. I feel for any car 4X4 with these features, 10 airbags are the best option. But I would avoid doing hardcore off-roading with this machine and prefer THAR or Gurkha for that purpose. This Hexa XTA gains lot of traction due to its weight so you are in control even on bad roads with ABS/EBD in place. Heavy body and 6 airbags are there to protect you further. Your concern 6 ..My reply >>> I have simple answer why people went for Hyundai when Marutis were there. Still many models of Maruti doing better numbers than the other who are having better cars and almost equivalent services available. It is typical mind-set that we want put our money where everyone is putting but all the people are not same. It is your money put in where you feel like. It was my 7th car so I thought this was the best option at this price the kind of space, comfort , quality of material (Soft touch even on side doors), the feel , the AC, the Size , excellent gearbox even faster switching than Fortuners gearbox with 5 years of warranty (extended was free 2 years) with a deal of free insurance, free mats, free logistics and much more. One last thing in Chandigarh Ford Endeavour 3.2 4x4 was outselling Fortuner so you think it is just not the numbers it is what you require for your money, your liking and your situation. Thanks a lot and best of luck for your purchase, it may be any car.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my queries. Believe me, i have chatted with many auto experts and posted few queries on auto blogs, but no-one had given me a satisfactory response.Thanks again! well, your answers do not solve my concern technically, because if some feature is not there, its not there (lets accept this). But surely you respond from a viewpoint of a proud Hexa owner which i understand. I also forget Hexa's missings once i sit inside this comfortable SUV, shut the doors and turn on the music system. Let's see. if this car is in my destiny i will have it, no matter what. :-)

Konesh Chopra or better wait for upcoming SUVs models from various companies so that you spend without any confusion. Xuv500 is also getting reteshed with more powerful euro 6 engine. Similarly all companies are supposed to upgrade their engines to euro 6 with many new features..We test drove all the vehicles and confused between Hexa and Compass but finally HEXA cleared by all family members who always found so many issues with each vehicle but Hexa qualified. XUV automatic we test drove but no one us felt like owning it. Sunroof was another major criterion but the sunroof offered in XUV was too small to feel for. Thanks

Also March sale of Hexa is 1404 and XUV500, 1567.. Is not it encouraging for potential HEXA buyers

Confused between hexa and innova

Dharmesh Dodiya innova is for reliability, resale, brand name and Hexa is for comfort, space, Suspension, SUV capabilities. If you are planning to run a vehicle for 7-8 lacs km , buy innova and if for 4-5 lacs km buy Hexa. From driving pleasure perspective Innova has better steering, features but Hexa Automatic is best in rest all departments. Hexa Automatic is value for money and if you are planning to buy manual Innova then Hexa XTA is far ahead in all departments except bullet proof reliability of Innova. Visit showrooms and sit in both the vehicles for 15 minutes and then drive on highway or bumpy surfaces to feel the difference. Speed ,pick-up and mileage is similar in both vehicles. Thanks..Hope it works for you

Dheeraj Sharma thank you for the suggestion, i want family car with space comfort mileage and good reliability, want to keep it for long, don't want to resale in nearly future. Price gap between innova and hexa are too much, i preferred to go with manual transmission but not sure yet about it. Recently i drive S cross 1.3 alpha. And honestly i can say i never would have covered even 3 lakhs kms either with hexa or innova. 😂

Sir....what u suggest... My wife loves jeep compass automatic But I'm more interested towards other other SUVs Hexa xta or Ford endevour 2.2 titanium or Toyota Fortuner Budget is no issue I mostly drive in city condition What will be your pick..?
@todheeraj
@todheeraj 6 лет назад
abhijit tawde Ford Endeavour 2.2 with sunroof, next Fortuner.. Model depends on your budget and then Compass. Hope your spouse loves sun roof. Compass is for driving indulgence but is not an overall good package if compared with Endeavour or Fortuner. Thanks

Dheeraj Sharma really appreciate ur help sir.... Considering the price factor.. We can compare compass with hexa xta I must say that u made a wise decision by choosing hexa xta.. In Mumbai people prefer compass bcz of it's brand value & street presence... But what I believe is hexa is years ahead of compass in terms of quality...safety & overall refinement Our fellow country man really need to change their mentality 😄 I love endevour bcz it shares almost same platform with Ford F-150 raptor... Otherwise hexa xta will be my pick

abhijit tawde Tty to go for 6/7 airbags model if budget permits.. Ladies definitely love Compass because of its exteriors but take her for TEST DRIVE of all these SUVs. If she is a beginner and rear seat comfort/space does not matter then you may go for compass.

Dheeraj Sharma you are correct sir.. Safety always comes first Currently owning Skoda octivia VRS... Planning to add one suv for family weekend trips... Considering that point endevour will be a better pick I found you rivew very helpful 😃

abhijit tawde if it is for family trips then Endeavour 2.2 titanium plus with sunroof is best choice...In Chandigarh it is Endeavour 3.2 which outsells Fortuner and Compass. Now with introduction of sunroof in 2.2, 2.2 is also picking up.
