@@motorinc Why all the big English/Hinglish automobile channels are not reviewing the 2024 Magnite facelift? It's such an amazing car at the given price range. I wonder why these channels are not going crazy over the new Magnite, it's worth making a ½hr video about.
I've been driving my Tata Tiago iCNG 2022 model for over 30,000 kilometers now. In the city, I'm getting around 20-21 kilometers per kilogram on CNG, and on the highway, with a relaxed driving style, I'm getting around 27-28 kilometers per kilogram. I must say, if you can find a good service center for your Tata vehicle, it's a super affordable and reliable car to maintain.
I think Motorinc needs to compile all of Shumi’s puns and one-liners and release a book titled “Shumi’s Pun Shop”. Also, I rate the summary two batlas.
One personal feedback for Motorinc First Videos: Can we pls have MORE sections with Images & Videos Inputs on the screen. It would be tremendous help when I HEAR Kartikeya say the car struggles on hard overtakes, maybe I can SEE it as well on a split screen. So that means we would enjoy more POV GoPro footage. Just a thought.Thanks.
The jokes aside, It is indeed fascinating to see how two of India's automotive giants, Tata and Mahindra, are carving distinct paths in the industry, playing to their strengths and consumer demands. Tata’s strategy of expanding the range of options on its best-selling car in the segment, despite the occasional niggles, demonstrates a clear commitment to giving buyers variety and choice-a commendable effort from a homegrown manufacturer. The continuous evolution and innovation in their road-focused cars signal Tata's intention to dominate this space with offerings that cater to a wide array of customer preferences. Meanwhile, Mahindra's focus on SUVs reflects a deep understanding of the growing consumer appetite for rugged, off-road capable vehicles. By diving deeper into the world of SUVs, Mahindra is tapping into an expanding market, catering to adventurers and families alike who seek versatility in their vehicles. Both companies are on promising trajectories, adapting to global trends while staying rooted in the Indian market's unique needs. It’s refreshing to see Indian automakers not just holding their ground but actively competing in markets traditionally dominated by global giants. One can only hope that as Tata and Mahindra push the boundaries of design, features, and innovation, they also place a renewed focus on quality and reliability. These two brands, by expanding in different yet complementary directions, are setting the stage for Indian engineering to shine globally, and if they can boost their quality standards, the future of Indian automotives looks even brighter.
Tata is also ensuring that their service centres are making buck with issues built into the system. Milking the customer for all that he has got. Very nice. Mahindra is going for the best power in the segment approach. Maruti is going for the best mileage in the segment approach. Toyota is going for the best reliability in the segment approach. Hyundai and Kia are going for the best features in the segment approach. Tata seems to be going for the spaghetti on the wall approach. Might work, but is definitely messy.
JFYI Tata's service centre is worse in the industry. Skoda Kylaq/Nissan Magnite is gonna eat rest of the Indian brands for breakfast in compact SuV marathon, wait and watch.
@@leokartikrajkumar9109 in Tata curvv review, Karthik mentioned that there are no cup holders in the front seat. Instead it had wireless charging pad. So, when he asked Tata people, they mentioned something like Indian people doesn’t have the culture of having coffee in car, so they decided against it. But then, Shumi reminded that Tata owns Starbucks, so their logic is weird. Here, Shumi references that joke. Since, there is no automatic nexon cng as of now, so it would mean Indians don’t have automatic car culture.
@@varunselvan It was actually Kartik who reminded Tata that it was too late for Starbucks to go back and it was an extremely rare phenomenon that Shumi took a second to grasp the joke
Geniune Request, we want podcast on companies as well. Pocast on Tata, Mahindra, MS, Honda, Hyundai. In 2 wheeler, Hero, Honda, TVS, Bajaj, Yamaha, suzuki, RE etc. Podcast on 10 iconic bikes and cars according to you guys. Pocast on journey of 2 and 4 wheelers in India.
The joke at 16:46 for those who didn't get it is the Tata Curve Not having cupholders , and the tata team replying saying India doesn't have a coffee culture so theres no cupholder
Mock Tata all you want, just know what is fearless also should be directed towards other brands as well. Maruti: Sigma, delta, alpha. Mahindra: AXL7, MX5, Pro, Non pro. Skoda: Signature, whose signature?
Just send Shumi now for a car review. This is now mandatory! I want to see how much humour does he add in his own reviews. By the way, when is the Destini First coming?
This Tata bashing is no longer funny, not because I'm a great fan of Tata, but if you see the price point and features provided by Tata as opposed to other manufacturers there's absolutely no comparison. So I would watch this channel more if they stop bashing Tata.
They bash Jawa, Ola and other companies / products too. The truth being spoken here is like a breath of fresh air compared to every reviewer chasing clout by only talking positives of Indian companies and not giving enough constructive criticism that will make these companies better.
For highway performance, I guess the reason it doesn't switch to petrol automatically compared to Chetak is because EVs are more efficient in terms of cost and range. Whereas petrol is less efficient than CNG. There are people who would want to cruise at 90-100kmph on CNG rather than the car switch to petrol.
No idea what Kartikeya's issue with Nexon's seating ergonomics is.. Supremely comfortable car for very long rides. All other complaints are very real though..
It no longer takes an hour. Those days are over, such things happens rarely now with me. And if i see a huge line for cng then i just use petrol for a while instead. And 1 hr for cng is still less than waiting for ev to fully charge. Many times ev charging station are not functioning. And 10 cars using 1 charging station will take whole day compared to 10 cars waiting for the cng to be filled at one pump. No matter how you put it electric vehicle can't compete with cng when it comes to this.
@@veerakumaraandi2801 discipline is one word to describe but i wouldn't pick just that for an ev. I would say if your driving is predictable and regular for most of the time and you have the discipline and foresight to plan ahead then you can go for an ev. For example if you just go to work and come back home. But mine and my friends driving aren't like that. We have unplanned drives after work every second day. We go on a long drive often. So thats why none of us could ever purchase an ev. Also i personally would only purchase an ev if i have another alternate fuel vehicle so that i can take that for longer journey. I would recommend a person to start with an ev 2 wheeler first to get better at this. That is if they drive a 2 wheeler. I would do the same.
MotorInc should understand, if they are going negative all time about the most selling car then, its like most their subscribers are fool . Shumi should understand this, this negativity against tata will effect motorinc in long term. It starts with me, it feel like he is exaggerating little bit. Other reviews of nexon dca from gagan, faisal, dds were all different what you guys qoute here. Can we put focus on the things those are first and its improving on the fronts. You cannot nagg them on the old things I don't know why???????????????????
Hey B, thanks for your feedback and concern. We may get it right, we may get it wrong - but we will always tell you Walmart we saw and felt. The rest is upto you. 🙏🏾👍🏽
hey @motorinc please let Shumi out completely for the next tata review ...i just love Shumi's back bencher naughtiness and Kartikeya's sincere good boy nature juxtaposed against each other please completely unhinge them on the next tata review guys
That's how tata placed their products. It's too confusing to choose and there are lot of build quality issues needed to be addressed. For a brand new car they shouldn't have build quality issues. But almost every tata products does post face-lift. I have seen many safari and harrier breakdowns than the older cars.
@@weliveyoung-o6r Yes I don't deny it, but listen carefully these guys do beat Tatas much more, make too much fun, are more sarcastic. Just listen carefully for other cars they'll just state its safety rating and move away, but when it's tata they will repeat again and again that how these ratings don't matter it's the driver that matters (same guy will have detailed monologue over safety rating of helmets). They beating the dead horse for varients, when most of the companies that same issues only Maruti has this sorted. You don't have to learn by heart the variants while buying, it's not an exam, you have to decide what features you need and the budget. About the issues with the, I absolutely agree these should be highlighted and frankly that is why I still bother to listen these guys but by God, the same jokes and glossing over its strengths feels biased.
This reminds me something that was discussed in Thisconnect different types of fuels episode. This I feel is a great thing that a manufacturer is willing to offer wide range of fuel options for similar cabin experience, and not just over focusing on only EVs. Multiple manufacturers doing this will be very exciting and we would be left with so many options to choose from!
26:10 Just like how Apple has iPhone, iMac, iPod same with iCNG . i in Apple products stand for internet, individual, instruct, inform and inspire. So inme se konsa ek lelo iCNG ke liye 😅. Inspire seems good enough as Tata is inspiring others to get CNG and save environment 😁
Couple of things 1 With respect to Tata and one with respect to MotorInc 1: I owned a 2017 Tata tiago and faced a very few niggles. The problem in the later Tata Cars is the fact that Tatas have tried including more "Electric equipment" which is really not their forte. They are great with suspensions and ok with steering response. Somehow we need to get to a point where mechanicals are kinda made more priority compared to electricals and forgo those connected DRL trend 2: Please make a Tata review with schumi. I believe Tata could do great with Karthik's and Schumi's inputs
25:24 beautiful suggestion..i don't know if any other car manufacturer has done this already. A strong hybrid that gives you that instant power and torque when needed, except in this case it's a hybrid of petrol and cng , and not petrol and electric. A good idea to implement
It's awesome seeing Karthik and Shumi as absolute men of culture with their Back to the Future and Whitney Houston jokes. If I crack a joke like that with my friends, they'll look at me funny. Anyway, great job, guys.
While listening to the podcast, I realized that a large part of TATA Motors sales and reputation relies on the safety of its cars, its identity as an Indian brand, and the legacy of Ratan Tata. However, the company’s trust and performance could be at risk after Ratan Tata’s passing. To maintain its growth and customer loyalty, TATA must take its customers more seriously and actively address their needs going forward.
38:20 The issue what you faced is something very similar I had to live with Fiat Linea 1.3MJD. The issue in my car was with EGR valve. If you drive at higher rpm and then slow down and try to pick up speed again, the throttle just wouldn't respond at all. The car had to be shut down and started again. One major irritant in fiat was that you had to turn the key all the way to start it again and it hairy situation it would create panic. This became a near-death situation when overtaking a truck and bus on the Highway and car stopped responding with oncoming vehicle on opp side. Thankfully I was able to swerve back in between two vehicles just in the nick of time. After numerous visits to (independent) Fiat Service, I just decided to unplug the EGR and drive with check engine light on. It went to service multiple times, EGR was cleaned and even replaced (I was shown an old EGR which was apparently from my car). The issue was escalated to Fiat then. It was nearly 3 years after that, that the company took the car and kept it for two weeks, finally reprogrammed ECU to not operate EGR (as I was told). Worked flawlessly after that for the next 5 years and now its with my neighbour next door and still working fine. I don't know if Turbo petrol/CNG cars have EGR too, but I feel it could be the same /similar issue.
@@motorinc i bought it January 2024, since then I faced the issue 4 times, "rpm won't go beyond 2k" will be solved within first engine restart and "engine warning" will be gone off after third engine restart. At first 2 times I panicked and contacted the service team, but no use, now I get used to it. Atleast I am proud that I found a solution on my own..
Interesting vehicle. Full lux nexon that has a turbo petrol and usable boot that also has cng. I wonder who the target is, seems like a split personality- person that wants a spirited vehicle and saves money on CNG, especially when you factor in peak time CNG station lines. Those lines also open up the question of the similarly priced 45 ev. Especially if the pure CNG range means either you fill every day or two or run pure petrol somewhere. Also schumi got the jokes out and how. Kudos to Kartik for remembering what he wanted to say on the review rather than ROFLing, that’s some serious poker face
EV 45 is actually cheaper by 80k in OTR Mumbai prices Fearless EV45 : 15.9L Fearless CNG : 16.7L One can opt for empowered 45 for 30k more and still get vent seats and other goodies
Those not happy with Tata bashing. Tata bashing is still there because those issues are still there. And humour is always the smartest criticism. Plus Karti is reviewing the car while shumi is being one of us just interpreting what karti is saying. He is funny and its a talent take it or leave it
How is it compair to brezza cng in as whole package? I know you recommend test drive. But still you guyz have larger database to fall on to. Which would be your pick?
Kartikeya has his schedule filled for the upcoming weeks. Until then, can Shumi cover the Xpulse Pro? Considering how popular the new Himalayan has become, it would be nice to hear about its direct competitor.
30:52 Even today EVs are comparatively "cleaner" than ICE vehicles. It's just that when people talk about EVs where they include everything - from pollution due to lithium mining to electricity generation through coal but don't extend the same courtesy to ICE vehicles. If we take this thinking further and include pollution due to oil refineries, damage to aquatic life & also the continuous transportation of crude oil and refined petroleum from their sources to our neighborhood petrol pump, then EVs still end up polluting less.
True, oil production itself is pegged at ~500g/Litre of fuel produced (after removing non fuel products like lubricants and plastics) A car which is polluting 150g/km from tailpipe and getting 10kmpl already pollute 50g before fuel reached the tank So total emissions of ICE in this case would be 200g/km Electricity maps is a goo resource for grid emissions, which puts India at 600g/kWh Nexon ev can easily get 120Wh/km which is ~72g/km emissions, less than 1/3rd of ICE model
some sports/tuner cars have an overboost button where for say 5 seconds the turbo dumps its full boost giving car its full power before engine blows tata can use a similar function. assigning a button that will allow us to use full 120 hp petrol mode for 10 to 15 seconds
Hi, bro I went to visit honda showroom to check out Amaze, They said they were not selling diesel version anymore as the govt is expected to release BS7 norms which will ban/tax the sale of new diesel cars etc, So I started looking at a 2nd hand one and I found one which is a 2021 made, Now should i got for it? What if the govt announces ban on diesel vehicles and forces us to decomisson the vehicle? Am from hyderabad btw
Shumi. Indias electricity generation from coal was 75% in 2021. It became 73% in 2022. 70% in 2023. Expected to go down to 50% in 2030. Indias installed capacity of coal has now dropped below 50% and is expected to fall below 30% by 2030.
I remember 4 years back when I bought my first economy hatch and went for a Celerio Petrol because the celerio CNG did not have automatic. Things have come so far now, seems good. But I really wish our Indian OEM's would get serious about electrics. I had hoped then that by 2025 we would have a hatch with 300km real-world range at 10L price point. But does not seem like that's going to happen any soon. In fact the prices have increased so much the same car that I bought for 6Lacs now sells for 8Lacs 4 years later. Nevertheless I'm holding onto my econobox for few more years. But it's getting beat bad by great Maharashtra roads...
I was just thinking about the AC button(Nitrous as we call it) in our old Lord Alto when Karthikeya was talking about toggling to petrol for higher performance:D
Hi Karthik, Shumi. Excellent video as always, a request if you could also include the best VFM variants to buy, I understand mostly the higher variants are provided for media drive, but if possible please include this. Also, if you could share your current personal use cars, and why you bought them.
7:55 that floor board and carpet design could be better, don't you think? The carpet should sit better not be flopping at the edges - this the sort of finesse that Tata needs to improve. Feelg good factor is not just about the touch screens and features
Very comprehensive and helpful before buying nexon iCNG .... i would really appreciate if u can help me with my dilemma.....I was going to buy Tigor iCNG XZ AMT for Rs. 9.30 lakh on road because i wanted cng and amt as well for driving comfort.... but nexon iCNG was launched and since it's bigger in size, has six airbags, more powerful, more boot space, more good looking and is recently updated, i shortlisted Nexon iCNG Smart Plus for Rs. 10.60 lakh ..... since i don't want to wait for Tata to launch Automatic Transmission, my question is how much importance should i give to Automatic Transmission ? Is it a must have feature in car since i will mostly be living in the two cities you mentioned viz. Mumbai/Bengaluru? .... it will be my first car and both my wife & myself will be first time drivers ..... will we be comfortable with Manual Transmission over a period of time/ about six months of driving manual ?? Or should we wait for Necon iCNG with AMT / TC? .... also if u can tell which is the VFM variant of Nexon iCNG ?
Mumbai and Bengaluru! Don’t you think an auto would be needed there? It will depend on your commute - if it’s more than 1.5 hour every day - then wait for auto. Else - you can go ahead with the manual.
@@motorincyes but need a vehicle to visit the hometown and weekend trips around bangalore/ mumbai .... also can you please suggest which will be VFM for nexon iCNG ?
🙅. Shumi is really fun, but let me tell you. People love the options, Nexon has variety like no other car, it has car for everyone. As a brand How Bajaj uses Pulsar and have dozens of Model, Tata uses Nexon and has all varieties. Nexon has Petrol Manual Petrol AMT Petrol DCA Diesel Manual Diesel AMT(I want this to be DCA or TC) EV Long Range EV Medium Range Petrol CNG Manual. From 7 lakh to 20 lakh it has all combination. I think the exercise of choosing a variant is one time issue, Tata gives n number of options and it makes you to pick the right choice. My friend wanted a Top End Car without Sunroof and Nexon was the only brand which was giving it, rest all brands have Sunroof as default in Top end trims.
Same for me. I could not imagine my luck when the variant I bought was discontinued merely a month after I took delivery. If I had waited, a sunroof would have been a forced addition for me
Its feels nostalgic this Tata reviews from this channel , they feel the same as the JLR reviews from old Top Gear . may be when Mr Tata bought them , this issue with electric stuff was added free.
Sir, Tata keep launching some vehicles once in every 2 months. And this keeps them remain in news forever. This may hamper some good cars from keeping in buzz. Tata nexon- ice, ev, cng, curve- ice, ev - all are 75% similar cars
If schumi is made the roads and transport minister, first thing he would do is to get the car manufacturers simplify their car variant names. Road quality and toll prices could be take the back seats but Variant name simplification is the first thing on his list.
I like this out of all the stupidity that is out there in the Tata-verse We have an Indica Vista 2012 (Fiat 1.3L) and 2024 Tata Altroz Diesel 1.5L Love those two, no chaos But only because they were fitting our needs If i have to recommend something, i still hesitate a bit and especially with the Petrols because of the unrefined experience and my personal concern with the Revotron Engine in general Loved this episode, like this car fairly good.... Shumi is on fire as always, whenever it's about Tata (or in general haha) Can't wait for more episodes, especially for the Dzire because of the rumours flying around, partly because of the design alone Anyways, loved the episode (I'm quite regular, i hope the team recognise me by now lol)
