March 2024: Team V3Cars shares the range and efficiency report of the 2024 Tata Nexon EV along with the variation in range in city and highway drives.
The Nexon.ev is available with a long range and a medium range option. The car on test is the long range version, prices for which start from Rs 16.99 lakh.

Finally a good quality, no bullshit review for Nexon EV. I really liked the fact that you tested the range on city mode with AC turned ON, which is the most likely scenario. Other reviews I've seen keep the AC off, put the car on ECO mode throughout the test to extract the max range and call it a review. Your review was actually useful with plain facts right up there.

Very good analysis. I drive a Nexon EV max. My driving happens 70% on highway and 30% in city. Get a actual range of 250 to 270.

You are running the car at 92 kmph, that's why it's consuming 159whr/km. If you drive around 75 - 80 kmph with regen at 0, you will get range of 310-320 kms on highway.

1. what accessories can be used while car is recharging ? can you sit, sleep with ac running if the recharging period is long ? 2. 4:48 this is the most easiest way to understand prices and variants. Also the videos you make to explain variants are the most confusion solving videos available in not just Indian auto review channels but among the channels from most developed countries too. 3. You might want to try AHA Nexcruise, it is good add on tool to maintain around 100 kwh for highway runs. this can be used for variants without factory fitted cruise control. best wishes and happy motoring !!!

Super video. Very focused and well thought through test.. Just one point missing. You need to tell. On highway, typically what speed you were driving at. That makes a huge difference in range you get. Driving between 80 to 90 vs driving between 100 to 110

Sir can you confirm if your distance matched with the odometer reading. Previously tata ev odo distances have been showing more as compared to actual distance. Would you be able to confirm? Personally been using the Nexon EV prime for last year and half.

Your analysis is always up to the mark.. but why EV companies are claiming 465 when the actual range is between 260-280 as per most of the buyers' feedback. if a company claims a range of 465 then it should get delivered in the range of 375-400 which is acceptable but the actual difference is huge. let me know if am expecting wrong.

Company claimed is under extreme savy conditions such as putting in eco mode and maintaining speed 40 to 50kmph only single person driving no AC and neat clean road but in reality no one drives at eco mode most of the time and all the time plus AC is compulsory, speed will be between 80 to 100 and mode will be city mode so range changes

Mass EV conversion would be hard in India given the Infrastructure, unless the range matches the actual range of a conventional ICE and the recharge is down to 45mints -1Hr per recharge. Chinese are way ahead in this regard. Especially BYD and AION + which is launching 6E pack with 0-70% in 8 mints and 30-80% in 5mints and an overall max range of 700kms. The R&D these firms are doing is mind blowing.

Battery % gives anxiety. With lack of Electric charging infra it's quite a challenge to take on a long drive it's more like a four wheeler Activa which is to be driven only from office to home.

Less than 500 is way too low, since we don't have adequate charging infrastructure everywhere. Most of us who rent, or live in apartments can't charge it without fast chargers.

Always keep regen low, and let the vehicle coast at low speeds, even in the city. This is how I get more range. :)

How is that? LR has 40.5kWh battery whereas MR has 30 kWh. So MR is not half of LR. Also smaller battery means lesser weight and hence the MR should give more km/kWh than MR. If we keep 7km/kWh as average, MR should give 210 km.

Reality is 250km range, Its still not for Highway long distance. Punch EV makes sense for city and shorter routes and costs less. Buy diesel for long routes. My 12 year old Punto drives 1000km on highway on full diesel tank. My octavia petrol BAS NA HI PUUCHO

Hehe. Nothing beats turbo diesels on highways. My Nexon diesel did a thousand kilometres trip on a single tank, averaging more than 25 kmpl with AC all the way. Never been happier with a car ever. But still I'm thinking about biting the ev bullet, probably somewhere around the launch of Curvv ev.

20lac for ev is not worth it......har ev ki warranty 8 saal ki hai by chance aapki battery khraab hogyi 8 saal baad fir lagwaate rhne 3-4 lac ki pack of battery... jitne ki bachat nhi hogi usse jyada khrcha aur out of warranty ev ki market value bhi bhot kam hojaati hai isse acha go for IC engine car aur jo extra cost hai use invest krlo fd ya mutual fund mein aur uske interst se fuel cost nikaal lo

Yes i hav e also purchased empoered + Lr yaar sachi itna ganda backup hai company claim krti hai 465 km on paper actual mein company staff saying more than 350 km but actually yeh 250 km show kr rahi hai on 100 percent.. they are saying to drive upto 50-60 speed n sometime closing ac as per company norms..Don't buy this EV...
