I just got a model 65 black oxide finish, I sent an old taurus revolver in that I had for years, the couldn't fix it so they gave me a credit that upgraded me to a. 357 magnum, outstanding customer service from taurus.
They sent me a free stainless hammer and springs for my 617 UlTi after I complained that the carbon steel parts were being affected by seawater when I took the revolver diving.
Taurus developed the trigger mechanism with the transfer bar safety system used by both S&W and Taurus. So, the early Taurus revolvers copied the S&W frame silhouette, then S&W copied Taurus trigger mechanism.
@@AlekseySh1982 S&W has used the Taurus system since 1980. Look at a parts diagram of a 686. Taurus calls the part the 'Hammer Block', while S&W call it the 'Rebounding Slide'. The reason for this is that Bangor Punta owned S&W from 1968-1984 and Taurus from 1970-1977. Taurus got the S&W silhouette, some manufacturing tech from the gun industry and better QC methods, while S&W got a safer trigger design and some manufacturing tech from the medical instrument industry.
How you like it.. I had one for a few months then sold it. I bought a 608 last weekend about to go work it out at the range in about an hour. They are good guns to own for home defense.
