I cobbled this song together with that exact scenario in mind. Even better if it's a complete surprise to Big Run players (never announced beforehand). Imagine, if you will, that distorted victory jingle plays to signify a King Salmonid, but nothing happens. All eight(?!) players Super Jump back to their starting locations and Mr. Grizz pipes in to express his confusion. Then he notices... no, no, he definitely sent out a four-man squad! Why are there more? How long have these conspicuous individuals in the same uniform been trying to blend in with you? Are those Grizzco weapons?! Then without a word, they all open fire at once. Cue the music. Although the firefight breaks out as the music kicks off, the 100-sec Xtra Wave would only _officially_ start at 0:22 - when the Grizzco helicopter is blasted out of the sky and careens into the ocean in a firey wreck. Mr. Grizz lets out a long, garbled string of curses and hails the emergency speedboat he prepared in advance to come pick you up. But will it make it to your squad in time?

Have the same thoughts about the "exosuit" idea, though mine'd lean more towards contemporary-looking, hook-type prosthetic legs and some sort of primitive grabbers. On the frankly miniscule chance a squad or two end up in Side Order, maybe picture darkish gear clearly ripped off from Octarian tech, to contrast Agent 8's new outfit? (Or maybe for the purposes of Salmon Run they could dress in salvaged uniforms _specifically_ to impersonate players and create confusion during a firefight?)

@@GlassesFreekJr. Speaking of impersonating players, it would be cool if the Salmonlings had fake player tags above them. If the devs are nice, they'd be in Salmonid conlang. If they're meaner, they'd be in normal languages but be placeholder names like KelpShot or AnenomeNo1. If they REALLY wanted to cause problems, they'd be randomly taken from your friends list like the astronaut enemies from CoD Zombies. "Aggro, revive me, I have Wavebreaker!" "...Aggro doesn't *have* Splatoon 3." EDIT: Even meaner would be using one name from each player's plaza. Straight-up assholish would be that plus a Salmonling "stealing" the name tag of the player they most recently splatted.

You're right on the money! Ditching the odd time signatures and overdriven timpanis in favor of breakcore drum loops is kinda like sanitizing what made ω-3 (the band for Salmon Run) special and shoving what's left in a place where they don't belong - which is similar to my interpretation of what "salmonlings" would be like. Literal fish out of water. Salminid culture is heavily tied to the belief in ̶r̶e̶i̶n̶c̶a̶r̶n̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ the circle of life. It's why they're so willing to zerg rush players during Salmon Runs. So imagine being torn away from said cycle, altered so irrevocably that you barely recognize yourself. My intent was to capture that feeling of horrid mania, and the music I sampled from lended itself well to that.

Was aiming more towards "boiled rabbit" but I just double-checked and that would've been "haşlanmış tavşan." Whoops!
