Cool vid. I've had a mahogany GS Mini-e for some time now and it's great. I found that 224ce in mint condition locally and fell in love with it, brought it home. What a fantastic guitar.
I have a soft spot for the GS Mini. A few weeks ago I traded in my old Ibanez dreadnaught for a GS Mini mahogany as my step up guitar and I couldn't be happier. I play more now because its so comfortable and the volume is amazing.
Love the look and sound of the 424ce. I have played high end Taylor all walnut before and drooled over them. I have the 2016 Cedar/Walnut 416ce limited and love the sound, but a 24 size is more my speed.
What's nice about the Walnut GS-Mini is the soundboard is also Walnut which differentiates it from the majority of other GS-Mini models that are Spruce top except for Mahogany and Koa an one SE Engelmann Spruce (Holden Village) model in 2014. I think I've read that Taylor compares the Walnut to Mahogany but I feel it may compare closer to Koa. I do have one of these new SE Walnut GS-Mini's and still doing my own comparison but I like it, its nice and the one I have has a sweet skunk stripe down the middle of the soundboard with perfect shading.
Great comparation of these special guitars. I had a 424ce Urban Ash Ltd and a sold it (make 670 Eur profit 😊 in few months). And I couldn't regret, but I both it because it was a good deal, 45% discount on new gear. And today I just ordered a new 424ce Walnut special edition, but this time "only" 40% discount and I can't wait to have it again. These guitars are really special and it is not easy to desribe how they sound. Different. Special. Awasome...
That gs mini was really coming in strong. For me it’s a toss up between the 124 and Gs mini. I have an all Koa Gs and I love it’s tone and sound, this gs mini has such a great tone and output for a Mini. It holds its own amongst the larger scales
To my ear all of these sound a little thin when flat picked. All of them sound better finger style. I don’t like the 1 11/16 nut width. I have an old 214ce I bought when my Martin went back to the factory for warranty repairs and needed something affordable to play. The top has really opened up and sounds very good but the narrow nut width hamlets my playing. Still it’s been a very good guitar over the years.

Man I want them all Ok I have problem I just got a 100 series yesterday I love it but I want the really expensive Taylor’s But I don’t wanna trade nor sell my D35 Martin I love my Taylor guitar and it’s entry level 100 ce I don’t know 🤷♀️ I saw it at guitar center for $640 used played it for 1 min and knew it was the one for me
The same reason anything is overpriced. People are willing to pay the price. When people stop being willing to pay the price a company will either lower the price until the item sells or the company will discontinue the item.
@@markstaggs7342 nah…they don’t have the history…but hey Taylor Swift plays one🤣 Taylor’s have that overly bright twang and it sucks…I’ll put a j45 or hd28 over any taylor
Trendy yes but overpriced, depends on the model. Yes you pay for the logo on the headstock but you get a high quality instrument even with the lower priced models. There are some brands with worse quality for the premium price.
