To say that watching Taylor's son Shane Hawkins on "My Hero" was very touching, does not even begin to cut it. Dave Grohl watching him with a look of proud Love as he turned his back on the crowd just to gaze lovingly at Taylor's son as he would so often towards Shane's dad. That love in the Foo Fighter's family will be with Shane for all his life. The King is dead. Long Live The King. RIP Taylor Hawkins. You will be missed until we see you again.
Thank you for sharing! This is gonna go down in history as one of, if not THE, greatest tribute/benefit show ever. The lineup was so stacked, everyone performed at their absolute honest peak, no problems, this was a glorious send off for Taylor. RIP
The RU-vid videos from the people in attendance are really good, on the TV feed watching live you could hardly hear the vocals for the first couple of hours of the show, music sounded fine but the vocals were almost nonexistent, hopefully that won't happen in L.A. at the end of the month
@@chrispix61 I went and it was like that in the upper tiers. People started to complain and it was sorted out. You couldn't hear Violet singing the Jeff Buckley songs.
Well said! Totally agree! The greatest tribute concert I have ever seen! I cried and smiled at the same time. Some of the greatest artist ever were on that stage paying tribute to Taylor, and when his son, Shane, played on the drum kit! Just amazing! Hero.
I'd held off watching this for a while. Didn't expect it to hit me like it did. Taylor dying wasn't great, but we'd lost Chris and Lemmy and many others already. Seeing some of your heroes die too soon sucks. I didn't expect to weep like a child through most of this, though. RIP to a beautiful human!
Finally some real playing, jamming in this plastic musical world we live in today. No dubbing, fake performances with dancing and glitter… Thank you for this blast from the past!! Classics are eternal and rock is more relevant and needed today than ever 🤘
Thank you so much!!!!Finally got to see those amazing performances that were missing from the edited version! It looked incredible. You put in even more time & effort editing it for us all. Thanks again all the way From Australia🇦🇺
Taylor would be so proud and happy for this ,he will never be forgotten by his fellow musicians or fans ,fly high brother look down at how loved you were and still are .beat them skins in heaven for us 🤘🤘💙💙😭😭
Thank you so much for sharing this special event. Wish I could have been there to celebrate his wonderful soul. Will never be forgotten. Thank you to all the musicians who made this so magical.
Always blows me away when people are having loud conversations at an amazing concert while groundbreaking music is HAPPENING in front of them. John Paul Jones, hello! Let's talk through that... phfffft. Maybe give those tickets to real fans who couldn't get them because you snagged them somehow only to talk through the whole show. In other news... talking to the real fans, wicked show! Broke my heart to think that Taylor isn't around but this was a great tribute. Two bits.
Absolutely gutted after waiting years to finally afford Foo Fighters tickets in London, having tickets for the tour and then not being able to buy the tribute tickets because they sold out so quick! Gutted it never happened, had an epic time watching the tribute online, just shows how much love and respect everyone had for Taylor! May he rest in peace, hands down my favorite drummer of all time
It never happens when it is planned. In death, the living want to honour their memory. If Somebody in the next street dies and weren't well known, they aren't going to have a fanfare as someone more famous. Taylor handled fame extremely well and downplayed it, his heroes were his heroes and consequently ditto, right back at him. It's a shame that he's gone, but the revere of him by his fellow Music stars doesn't happen to all.
The best thing to happen was so many talented drums who had either influenced, or been influenced by Taylor came out on stage and shown up for him. There are so many drummers in the industry who are incredibly talented but dont get the recognition that they deserve. It also highlighted how many influential drummers we have and how music brings us all together. Sometimes, it says the very thing we can't say.
Thanks for uploading this. You must have been sitting pretty close to us (Block 140) judging by the camera angle. It was a great day, lovely crowd and a privilege to be there. Personal highlights - Dave Grohl playing everything, Liam, Josh Homme, Supergrasss, Chevy Metal, Let There Be Rock, Alex and Geddy, and Macca.
The Pretenders!!!! Reminds of being a kid. I grew up when mtv was mtv. Always remember her in the waitress outfit!!! Im glad I grew up when I did, no phones, going outside actually, and THEN going home and playing video games.
Thank you for this! 😎✌❤ For anybody interested. There's an Interview on (Rick Beato's) channel with Kim Thayil and Krist Novecelic! They talk about the early Days of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone, and Pearl Jam. Enjoy!
Its just so fucking cool to sit back witness the Uber legend that is Pat Smear share a stage with the great Liam G …. To worlds brought together threw such a terrible , unthinkable heart breaking tragedy and the international language of rock n roll of course….. yes I’m fully aware of how much of sentimental twat I’m sounding like at this moment in time but I’m genuinely moved !!!!!!! Happy Sunday , stay safe . Peace out ✌️ x
Luke Spiller was such an awesome addition to it he was originally supposed to sing three songs unfortunately Roger bumped him off to just one because he wanted someone else (Sam)to sing the other two songs!!!
There are other posts available on RU-vid which have the Two Canadians bit. I have always thought that Working Man is Alex Lifeson's Tribute to Tony Iommi
Wonder if the sex pistols will do a tribute a punk version one for the queen celebration ,wonder what the line up would be if there's anything like this for her at all, this was truly an amazing farewell to Taylor he'll be looking down watching this in absolute amazement they have done this absolutely perfect.👍🇬🇧🤘
Wasn't sure about Nirvana's Bleach first time but seeing them in SYD BDO 92 was amazing plus lots more.. and loving seeing the Foo's in SYD 94 + but most special of all is knowing that dave has a bold spot just slightly smaller than mine and his will always get the light... shine on Dave...shine on!
Oh stfu already Dave and Kurt weren’t that close near the end stop comparing Taylor and kurts death they’re nothing alike you need to sthu before someone makes you
Nice pop concert One advice IVE walked with In my life is dont expect too much from People doing drugs decade after decade. They Will choose drugs over anything. Rest In peacr everyone died of addiction whether its drugs food...
Yeah, I think slipknot really missed it when Joey passed away and they just got on with life. Taylor was a well known good drummer, but Joey was a well known amazing drummer. I used to really enjoy slipknot, even after Joey left the band, but once they didn't tribute him I was done.
They need to zoom in on the drummer , for good fighters! Sound quality ! Us not very good. Is that Taylor Hawkins , son on the drums ???? We need to see ! Lousy camera man !
