Absolute brilliance. Mr Mali's website includes this: "after hearing his work, 607 people have told him they will now become teachers. [He is] the man who wants to create one thousand new teachers.” Between that and the fact that 2 weeks after the last comment, there are still no dislikes, it's almost enough to restore faith in humanity. Happy New Year, everyone.

I want to be Taylor Mali when I grow up. I have been teaching special education for almost ten years. This poem was given to me by a student in my first year teaching, and I have kept it posted in my classroom ever since, as well as shared it at the beginning of the year with other teachers. So beautiful, so moving. Thank you, Mr. Mali, for sharing your gift.

"Let me teach like the new snow, falling". Beautful. Mali has a way with words that makes me envious everytime I listen.

As a teacher of English of four years I can safely say that going 'off piste' in the classroom is now akin to an act of rebellion. How sad is that?
