Everyone HAS TO read this. This is what Taylor Swift wrote about her album RED: “there's something to be proud of about moving on and realizing that real love shines golden like starlight, and doesn't fade or spontaneously combust. Maybe I’ll write a whole album about that kind of love if I ever find it. but this album is about the other kinds of love that I’ve recently fallen in and out of. Love that was treacherous, sad, beautiful, and tragic. But most of all, this record is about love that was red.” I’m so happy she’s finally writing about the golden love, like she promised 💛💛💛

Also if you look at all of her past albums they are full of nighttime imagery. She never mentions rainbows or sunlight except in “Out of the Woods” (and “Wildest Dreams” But the sun is setting so that doesn’t count) “ *Twenty* stitches in the hospital room... When the sun came out I was looking at you” “I’ve been sleeping so long in a *twenty* year dark night now all I see is daylight” And OOTW was the only song on 1989 I was sure was about Harry (“Style” is a red herring, that song is totally about Jelena) but now I’m not so sure...

I dedicate this song specially for my self. You have been through so much. Yet, you always manage to survive. It shows that, whatever storm you're in right now, you are able to calm it slowly and learn to enjoy life. I'm so proud of you. The smallest changes are still progress. I won't compare you to others because everyone has different timeline and Im happy to be me, I dont want to be anyone else. I don't think you guys understand how meaningful her picking up the phone at the end of the song is. She has been torn apart so many times by a phone. Joe Jonas, when he broke up with her over a phone conversation. Jake Gyllenhaal when he called after he had missed her birthday party, Kayne and Kim and their conversation over the phone for her consent over a song. Taylor has been heartbroken so many times over the phone. But she's choosing to pick it up once again.

I’m a guy, I first heard this song on a dark cold night when I was sleeping. My mind wandered and traveled back to my teen years (late 2000s) when I truly experienced true love with my then crush. She would later get married off by her parents to a man who she didn’t love and the marriage broke up prematurely . She gave birth to 2 kids and wasn’t herself after that. I had to move on. But back to the dream, I had the most amazing smile being with her and we kissed for the first time which we never did. Never felt a more soothing peace after that experience.

This song has meant so much to me since lover dropped. I think for the first few months it was just a song that made me happy but one stormy day during the pandemic it became my favorite song in the world. It brings me the peace and hope that everything is gonna be okay someday. I’ve done school projects, quoted, and talked about this song at so many occasions. I was never ever able to put into words the absolute once-in-a-lifetime moment when love at first sight happens to you, and you realize you can't live without this stranger you feel you've known your whole life. Truly, it's Daylight after I've been sleeping so long in a twenty year dark night. Taylor, this is a masterpiece! Thank you so much for it! This helps me process all the emotions and Trauma from losing that love. His heart still beats and that somehow comforts me, it just doesn't beat for me.
