I 100% agree with Angel that compatibility does not matter. It's complementary that is necessary. People change in relationships so much and compatibility goes out the window when this happens, Kev actually mentioned awhile back that He and Melissa have been 4 different people through the course of their marriage and now sit in a space where that are night and day lol However they compliment each other very well.
So y’all even know what compatible means? Of course you should be compatible with the people in your life you have relationships with. If you’re incompatible with someone it will not last or you’ll end up finding someone else you’re compatible with even if you don’t mean to.
3 dudes in 5 years is VERY normal! People are jealous and weird. I saw women on TikTok already talked bout some "She better not break his heart...Not my husband etc..." 💀
Lori Harvey is 26 year old successful woman living her best life and Black social media hates it! She never talks about her relationships, minds her business and people can't stand it!!! How dare she live a private life and not over share like everyone else on social media (sarcasm)!!!!
The fact that you had to spell out the sarcasm shows how unecessarily sensitive ppl have gotten... people don't even read or listen to understand they do that to react it's sad ..
Just voted for you Kev! You deserve the NCAAP image award win. This is my favorite podcast! I’m glad that I get to tune into it every Wednesday. For the dating survey, I think those questions should be addressed during the first date. Or maybe they can discuss it through text or a phone call (to determine if they want to go on a first date). I don’t think I’d fill out a survey if a guy sent one to me. I’d rather have a conversation.
Angel is so correct about black women sounding more southern. I was born/raised in OH. When I was working at Wells Fargo in Montgomery, AL, I got tired of being called a yankee that talks too fast. So, I started speaking with a southern drawl and it definitely made a difference in my sales. Crazy but true!
it does, all the "guys " in college from the North seemed to love a Southern accent...it came along with the false stereotype of being sweet and kind...look at Sean Carter...ask him, lol
@@Edubz90 but tbf Nola accents are so cute lmao I used to have one before high school a little bit and couldn't here it 😂 I'm from Los Angeles but my dad and his side from New Orleans. Mama and her mama Texas. I should practice the accent/speech again lmao
Kev, you're my spirit animal when it comes to museums. I'd rather go alone so I can take my time and read my placards. Being mindful of you and making sure you're also having fun is no fun for me. LOL
When being "chosen" by a man is not your goal but to date in a way where you "choose", you will date very differently. Lori may be exercising her right to choose, and she is doing so with men many other women may feel that if they had him, they would never leave him. AND these men also happen to be men that other men envy, so she is definitely pissing off the man dem too.
I told one of my female clients (I'm a therapist), "Do you know YOU get to choose instead of just waiting to be chosen?" She was fully taken aback. That frame of mind is not socially taught to women and when they empower themselves to make their own choices, they look at dating completely different.
As a Texan who lives out west Putting on a thicker southern accent to make way better tips in the service industry is a true…. My husband says I still do it when I talk to my mom on the phone… he says here comes the banjo 🪕 accent.
I'm gonna have to defend this woman. I actually think the form is a great idea. No time wasted and a lot of questions are relevant (religion, job, marriage, kids, LGBTQ+, etc.) and some are just more lighthearted and self aware. It won't define whether you'd spend the rest of your life with the other person but it weeds out people who you'd definitely wouldn't want to be around with. From my neurodivergent POV, that sounds great, practical and straight to the point
I'm inclined to think that it eliminates some topics for the first date conversation s. But dating being what it is right now, I get why she did it. I don't like it, but I get it. Lol
This method wouldn't work for me, but I firmly believe there is someone for everyone, so if this form resonates for her, she might as well use it to find someone who can roll with it from the beginning!
Yeah, I love it too. I think, particularly, in relation to politics because I don't want to be halfway through the date and find out you have politics that I do not agree with because I believe those are a reflection of your values. Edit: Grammar and spelling mistakes
I see where you're coming from, but these are things you can actually have a back and forth conversation about in text before you even agree to a date. I think putting it in a form and sending it to a potential date makes it feel like a one-sided job interview. If a a man sent me something like this no matter how valid the questions are I am likely going to wish him well and end the discussion. I'm not auditioning for you. I'm not putting all of my stuff out on the table so you can pick me apart and critique me on your end. I would, however be more than happy to to discuss those topics on a mutual level.
Lol I’m Angel because when she said glottal fry, I was like oh yea she totally right. I never put it in prospective that most people don’t use that type of language. Lol classical singer life.
It’s the men she’s dating that makes people so upset because they’d never be able to date them but she can. It’s only because it’s publicized that ppl are mad.
And in the case of some men, she is dating men that they envy, so they are really lost at Lori's decisions because if those men aren't "good enough," surely they aren't.
@@sxyteesa0890 I feel like she has these men in love because she seems really kind and introverted and probably has fun interests. She's just aware that she can have whoever and she's young so of course she's having fun. I feel bad for Michael B. Jordan 😭 She should've never gotten with him because he's seriously family/marriage oriented, but if it was me I wouldn't skip over him either lmao He's so fine.
1:00:00- Y'all are taking me back to my childhood in the South. I also use to eat fresh Blackberries & Pecans with my friends. It is a miracle we didn't get sick. 😆😆
When they got on the "words be hard" part of the show, it reminded me of my Aunt who got perfume for Christmas one year and pronounced it as "Extra Vagance". My cousin took the perfume away from her and was like "it's Extravagance Auntie!!" 🤣😂🤣
She was doing too much with that form, but I do think compatibility is extremely important. When your sexual chemistry cools off, all you have left is compatibility and friendship. If you don't share values and some interests/hobbies, your relationship will not be a happy one.
The questionnaire is the epitome of "analysis paralysis" you don't need to know everything about everyone up front. Super unrealistic, still learning things about my husband 10 years after meeting him... some things you prolly dont wanna know either tbh 😂
I think you and I are the only ones in the comments so far who actually like the idea of the questionnaire lol😆 As a person who has dated a lot of guys who lack curiosity and effort when it comes to actually getting to know me, I would literally glow like Bruce Leroy if a guy sent me a questionnaire🤣🤣🤣🤣
This was very illuminating. I am borderline antisocial so in my opinion a questionnaire is the most pragmatic way to cut through the mess and get to the core of a person. (That is if the person is being honest) If you meet someone in a club and fall in lust day 1 by the time you figure out where they stand on deal breakers like religion, income, politics, etc, you may already be so invested that you look past it. . . . Only to end up in the 50% of marriages that end up divorced
@@craigslistreplies3485 Jackpot!!🤣 lol I'm like, I know I can't be the only one who doesn't enjoy having my time wasted. Plus I'm not really a fan of mystery when it comes to dating- it annoys tf outta me lol
NGL I would hella enjoy taking a quiz like that for a person who I was tryna date. Not only does it weed out so many undesirables. You get a good idea of the type of person you're choosing to go on a date with. Also I would body the homophones section & thats where a lot of ppl would fumble
If it was just a few questions, the form probably wouldn’t be too bad. But it’s ridiculous long and most of those questions are trivial and could be covered in a first date or even in the course of chatting before you go out on the date. Especially since she’s not giving him back any information on herself. She wants to weed out the people who will not put in the work to get to know her… but she’s not really doing any work to get to know him.
I don't care about the number of men Lori Harvey dates, I just don't care about Lori Harvey. I think the concept of being famous for being famous or being a socialite is obnoxious. No one would care about her if she wasn't lightskin with struggle babyhair. That said, I low key root for her because most of the hate she receives isn't because of her lack of talent but because of misogyny. If she can smut out these guys that want to be players, I kinda have to applaud it 🤷♀
I don’t think it has anything to do with her skin color. Besides her being absolutely gorgeous and also Steve Harvey’s “daughter”. For the most part she comes from money so it requires a different approach than some groupie or instagirl. I honestly don’t know why people are so invested in who she’s dating
The questions are good and cute, except for the astrology stuff, but these are questions you ask during the courtship phase. You just can’t rush some things. Also people are really showing their toxic mindset in regards to Laurie’s dating. Have several seats.
It is sad that it's literally taken me my entire day getting through this video, but as someone that's in marketing...I looove her transitions into promotions. Like butta bby!
While the questionnaire was kind of alot, most of thr current online dating apps ask the same type of questions so you see them before ever communicating. This random hit her up on whatsapp...so I think it was a fair ask. But I also give him credit for suggesting a call versus to keep texting.
Great dating questions to ask someone PERSONALLY. Eh, But not in a form. A form suggests "collected information". If she gave me a form, she would need to fill one too. Josh & Angel are right - she must disclose ALL the benefits of this "job" before applying! 🤣
I was over dating in my late 20s and after my wasband in my 30s happened... That person with the questions stole my 20 something idea lol I'm tired of the get to know you process Just fill out the questionnaire lol
I grew up as a military brat. Kev, I've been called 'white' or talking 'white' my entire life. I believe most military brats are exposed to the world, and we act similarly no matter the ethnicity.
22:26 that’s specifically posh English people though Kev 😂 working class English people and working class Brits generally don’t have that at all, cause we get it looked down on directly by those English people because of how “common” we sound all the time, like not pronouncing t’s etc
I don't mind the questionnaire. Actually, it does take out the boring small talk. I'm with it. I'd check the questionnaire and get back to him in 1-2 business days!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have some social anxiety and neurodivergence. I also value my time and safety. I feel like some of those questions, if answered in the way I prefer, I'd feel more comfortable going on a date or spending time with that person. Even the music thing seems a little silly till you think about how fans of certain genres tend to be racist, sexist, etc. Like if someone tells me their fav game is 2k, I'm not going on that date. I never felt safe in a room where that game is being played. I'd prefer a dating app that has a detailed questionnaire that gauge personal values and moral systems, then only recommend matches based on high compatibility on those core values as well as let you know which questions you really disagree on as potential deal breakers. Basically, I want a Married at First Sight experience with dating and seeing each other first.
20:58 I love it when Angel Thee Actress talks about her craft. This section on accents went from funny anectdote to technical analysis right quick. Brava! Cannot wait to see her skills in action on BLSS Season 4!
If I was a man I’d do the survey but as a woman I would not on principle 🤣 You said the truth about museums, I love a Art museum but I want to look up close and seeeee the paint strokes😂😊 The way they both backed up when he said he caught Bees 🤣🤣
...ion usually do this, but i kno how much Kev and Josh enjoy music: RIP Kevin Lemons (1978-2023, Gospel Music Artist, Hezekiah Walker protegé)... Excellent show, KOS👋🏾
Is Sunday no longer a day to tour for comedy Kev???? 😢 I saw Tony end of December but I can’t see you cause you are so far from Philly and I got work, daughter got school next day, church on Saturday . There needs to be a Sunday darn it
And Taylor had her remixes removed so SZA could go to #1. She only released them to block Drake from take the top spot. She is very supportive of women.
Kev talking bout how tours work brought back memories. my dad was a main male singer for Donald Lawrence n although I was very young their drummer was friends with me bc I liked to play myself. the before the show access was something else mayne.
Self awareness is so key in relationship and having the empathy some folks don’t know how to compromise cheerfully - it really has to be their way - that young woman with the survey I applaud her for venting out folks but some thing come down to chemistry - I have gone out on dates that in paper it seems like it would work but their was zero chemistry
Sooooooo dope in Huntsville!!!!!! I had to sit my family down afterward and discuss that I had been enlightened on the kitchen being a social construct!!!!!😂😂😂😂 and thanks to Tahir I can’t look at Winnie the pop or my dentist that same way ever!!!!!!😂
The name Vespertine usually refers to plants/flowers that bloom at night. Not all flowers are edible. Most restaurants/bars source organic flowers for consumption.
Ohhhh that's why I got all them tips as a hostess 🤯🤣🤣🤣 I was born in Washington state but came up in Mobile & Montgomery Alabama, New Iberia, baton rouge and Monroe Louisiana, Macon Ga and Orlando Florida I'm like valley girl country to some 🤣
Kev, let me recommend to you the "Dozer Auto museum" in Miami. Vespas galore, hundreds of antique vehicles and the 007 plane, fast and furious vehicles, but also the Flintstone vehicles. A good time to be had. You're welcome 😊
